Psalms 9

I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

Davidin Psalmi, kauniista nuoruudesta, edelläveisaajalle. Minä kiitän Herraa kaikesta sydämestäni, ja luettelen kaikki sinun ihmees.

I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

Minä iloitsen ja riemuitsen sinussa, ja veisaan kiitosta sinun nimelles, sinä kaikkein ylimmäinen,

When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.

Ettäs minun viholliseni olet ajanut takaperin: he lankesivat ja hukkuivat sinun etees.

For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.

Sillä sinä saatat minun oikeuteni ja asiani toimeen: sinä istuit istuimelle, vanhurskauden tuomari.

Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.

Sinä nuhtelet pakanoita, ja kadotat jumalattomat: sinä pyyhit heidän nimensä pois aina ja ijankaikkisesti.

O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.

Vihollisten hävitykset ovat lopetetut ijäisesti, ja kaupungit sinä kukistit heidän muistonsa on heidän kanssansa kadonnut.

But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.

Mutta Herra pysyy ijankaikkisesti: hän on valmistanut istuimensa tuomioon.

And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.

Ja hän tuomitsee maan piirin vanhurskaudessa, ja hallitsee kansat oikein.

The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

Ja Herra on köyhän turva: hän on turva hädän aikana.

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Sentähden he sinuun toivovat, jotka sinun nimes tuntevat; sillä et sinä niitä hylkää, jotka sinua, Herra, etsivät.

Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

Veisatkaat Herralle, joka Zionissa asuu: julistakaat kansoissa hänen tekonsa.

When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.

Sillä se joka kostaa verenvikoja, muistaa heitä, eikä unohda köyhäin parkumista.

Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:

Herra ole minulle armollinen, katso minun ahdistustani niiltä, jotka minua vihaavat, sinä joka ylennät minun surman porteista;

That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.

Että minä luettelisin kaikki sinun kiitokses Zionin tytärten porteissa, ja iloitsisin sinun avustas.

The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.

Pakanat ovat vajonneet siihen hautaan, jonka he valmistivat: heidän jalkansa on käsitetty siinä verkossa, jonka he virittivät.

The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

Niin ymmärretään Herran tekevän oikeuden, koska jumalatoin juuri omissa kättensä töissä käsitetään; se on tutkisteltava asia, Sela!

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Jospa jumalattomat palajaisivat helvettiin, ja kaikki pakanat, jotka Jumalan unohtavat.

For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.

Sillä ei hän köyhää peräti unohda, ja raadollisten toivo ei huku ijankaikkisesti.

Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.

Nouse, Herra, ettei ihminen saisi valtaa: anna kaikki pakanat edessäs tuomittaa.

Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.

Herra, anna heille opettaja, että pakanat tuntisivat itsensä ihmisiksi, Sela!
