Proverbs 9

Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:

Мъдростта съгради дома си, издяла седемте си стълба,

She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.

закла което имаше за клане, размеси виното си и сложи трапезата си.

She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,

Изпрати слугините си и кани от височините на града:

Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

Който е прост, нека се отбие тук! И на неразумния казва:

Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.

Елате, яжте от хляба ми и пийте от виното, което размесих.

Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

Оставете невежеството и живейте, и ходете по пътя на разума.

He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.

Който поучава присмивателя, си докарва позор; и който изобличава безбожния, си лепва петно.

Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

Не изобличавай присмивателя, за да не те намрази; изобличавай мъдрия, и той ще те обикне.

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

Давай съвет на мъдрия и той ще стане още по-мъдър; учй праведния и той ще увеличи знание.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Страхът от ГОСПОДА е начало на мъдростта и познаването на Светия е разум.

For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.

Защото чрез мен ще се умножат дните ти и ще ти се прибавят години на живот.

If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

Ако си мъдър, си мъдър за себе си; и ако се присмееш, сам ще си го понесеш.

A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.

Глупостта е като жена бъбрива — глупава и не знае нищо.

For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,

И седи при вратата на къщата си, на стол по височините на града;

To call passengers who go right on their ways:

и кани минаващите по пътя, които вървят право в пътеките си:

Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

Който е прост, нека се отбие тук. А на неразумния казва:

Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.

Крадената вода е сладка и хляб, който се яде тайно, е вкусен.

But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

Но той не знае, че там са сенките, че поканените й са в дълбините на Шеол.
