Numbers 14

And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

Тогава цялото общество извика с висок глас и народът плака през онази нощ.

And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!

И всичките израилеви синове роптаеха против Мойсей и Аарон, и цялото общество им говореше: Да бяхме измрели в египетската земя или в тази пустиня да бяхме измрели!

And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

И защо ни води ГОСПОД в тази земя да паднем от меч и жените ни и децата ни да бъдат разграбени? Не беше ли по-добре за нас да се върнем в Египет?

And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

И си казаха един на друг: Да си поставим началник и да се върнем в Египет!

Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

Тогава Мойсей и Аарон паднаха на лицата си пред цялото събрание на обществото на израилевите синове.

And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:

И Иисус, синът на Навий, и Халев, синът на Ефоний, от онези, които бяха разузнали земята, раздраха дрехите си;

And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.

и говориха на цялото общество на израилевите синове и казваха: Земята, която обходихме, за да я разузнаем, е много, много добра земя.

If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

Ако ГОСПОД има благоволение към нас, Той ще ни въведе в тази земя и ще ни я даде — земя, където текат мляко и мед.

Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

Само не въставайте против ГОСПОДА и не се страхувайте от народа на земята, защото той е хляб за нас! Защитата му се оттегли от него, а ГОСПОД е с нас; не се бойте от тях!

But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.

Но цялото общество каза да ги убият с камъни. Тогава ГОСПОДНАТА слава се яви в шатъра за срещане пред всичките израилеви синове.

And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?

И ГОСПОД каза на Мойсей: Докога ще Ме презира този народ и докога няма да Ми вярва въпреки всичките знамения, които съм извършил сред него?

I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.

Ще го поразя с мор и ще го изтребя, а теб ще направя народ по-голям и по-силен от него.

And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)

Но Мойсей каза на ГОСПОДА: Тогава египтяните ще чуят — защото Ти със силата Си си извел този народ отсред тях —

And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

и ще се каже на жителите на тази земя, които са чули, че Ти, ГОСПОДИ, си сред този народ и че Ти, ГОСПОДИ, се явяваш лице с лице, и че облакът Ти стои над него, и че Ти вървиш пред него в облачен стълб денем и в огнен стълб нощем.

Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,

И ако убиеш този народ като един човек, тогава народите, които са чули за Теб, ще говорят и ще казват:

Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.

Понеже ГОСПОД не можа да въведе този народ в земята, за която му се кле, затова го изкла в пустинята.

And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,

И сега, моля Ти се, нека се възвеличи силата на Господа, както си говорил, като си казал:

The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

ГОСПОД е дълготърпелив и многомилостив, прощава беззаконие и престъпление, но никак не оставя ненаказан виновния, и въздава беззаконието на бащите върху децата до третото и четвъртото поколение.

Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

Прости, моля Ти се, беззаконието на този народ според голямата Си милост и както си прощавал на този народ от Египет до тук.

And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word:

И ГОСПОД каза: Прощавам според думата ти,

But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

но наистина — жив съм Аз и целият свят ще се изпълни с ГОСПОДНАТА слава —

Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

всички тези мъже, които видяха славата Ми и знаменията, които извърших в Египет и в пустинята, и Ме изпитваха десет пъти досега, и не послушаха гласа Ми,

Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:

наистина те няма да видят земята, за която се клех на бащите им — никой от онези, които Ме презряха, няма да я види!

But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

Но понеже слугата ми Халев има в себе си друг дух и той напълно Ме последва, затова него ще въведа в земята, в която влезе, и потомството му ще я наследи.

(Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) To morrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.

А амаличаните и ханаанците живеят в долината. Утре се върнете и идете в пустинята към Червено море!

And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

ГОСПОД говори още на Мойсей и Аарон, и каза:

How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

Докога ще търпя това зло общество, което роптае против Мен? Чух роптанията на израилевите синове, с които роптаят против Мен.

Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

Кажи им: Жив съм Аз, заявява ГОСПОД — наистина ще ви направя така, както вие говорихте в ушите Ми!

Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me,

Труповете ви ще паднат в тази пустиня и от преброените между вас, колкото сте на брой, от двадесет години и нагоре, които роптахте против Мен,

Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

нито един няма да влезе в земята, за която се клех да ви заселя в нея, освен Халев, сина на Ефоний, и Иисус, сина на Навий.

But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.

А децата ви, за които казахте, че ще бъдат разграбени, тях ще въведа и те ще познаят земята, която вие презряхте.

But as for you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.

А вашите трупове ще паднат в тази пустиня.

And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.

И децата ви ще скитат по пустинята четиридесет години и ще теглят заради вашите блудства, докато труповете ви се довършат в пустинята.

After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.

Според броя на дните, за които разузнахте земята, четиридесет дни, по един ден за една година, четиридесет години ще теглите заради беззаконията си и ще познаете какво е Аз да се отвърна.

I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.

Аз, ГОСПОД, говорих. Наистина така ще направя на цялото това зло общество, което се е събрало против Мен: в тази пустиня ще се довършат и в нея ще измрат.

And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,

И онези мъже, които Мойсей изпрати да разузнаят земята и които се върнаха и подбудиха цялото общество да роптае против него, като пуснаха лош слух за земята,

Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.

тези мъже, които пуснаха лош слух за земята, измряха от язвата пред ГОСПОДА.

But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still.

А Иисус, синът на Навий, и Халев, синът на Ефоний, останаха живи измежду онези мъже, които ходиха да разузнаят земята.

And Moses told these sayings unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.

И когато Мойсей говори тези думи на всичките израилеви синове, народът плака много.

And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the LORD hath promised: for we have sinned.

И на сутринта станаха рано, за да се изкачат на върха на хълма и казаха: Ето ни, ще се изкачим на мястото, за което ГОСПОД говори, защото съгрешихме.

And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of the LORD? but it shall not prosper.

А Мойсей каза: Защо престъпвате ГОСПОДНАТА заповед? Това няма да успее.

Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.

Не се изкачвайте, защото ГОСПОД не е между вас, да не би да ви победят враговете ви,

For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you.

защото амаличаните и ханаанците са там пред вас и ще паднете от меч. Понеже отстъпихте и не следвахте ГОСПОДА, затова ГОСПОД няма да бъде с вас.

But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.

Те обаче дръзнаха да се изкачат на върха на хълма. Но ковчегът на ГОСПОДНИЯ завет и Мойсей не излязоха от стана.

Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, even unto Hormah.

Тогава амаличаните и ханаанците, които живееха на онзи хълм, слязоха и ги разбиха, и ги разпиляха чак до Хорма.
