Luke 16

And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.

Каза още на учениците си: Един богаташ имаше настойник, когото обвиниха пред него, че разпилявал имота му.

And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

И той го повика и му каза: Какво е това, което слушам за теб? Дай сметка за настойничеството си защото не можеш вече да бъдеш настойник.

Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.

Тогава настойникът си каза: Какво да направя, след като господарят ми отнема от мен настойничеството? Нямам сила да копая, а да прося ме е срам.

I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

Сетих се какво да направя, за да ме приемат в къщите си, когато бъда отстранен от настойничеството.

So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?

И като повика всеки от длъжниците на господаря си, каза на първия: Колко дължиш на господаря ми?

And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.

А той каза: Сто мери масло. И му каза: Вземи разписката си и бързо седни и напиши: петдесет.

Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.

После каза на друг: А ти колко дължиш? А той отговори: Сто мери жито. И му каза: Вземи разписката си и напиши: осемдесет.

And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

И господарят похвали неверния настойник за това, че е постъпил хитроумно; защото синовете на този свят са по-хитроумни спрямо своето поколение от синовете на светлината.

And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

И Аз ви казвам: Спечелете си приятели чрез неправедното богатство, та когато се привърши, да ви приемат във вечните жилища.

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

Верният в най-малкото и в многото е верен, а неправедният в най-малкото и в многото е неправеден.

If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

И така, ако в неправедното богатство не бяхте верни, кой ще ви повери истинското богатство?

And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

И ако в чуждото не бяхте верни, кой ще ви даде вашето?

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Никой служител не може да служи на двама господари, защото или ще намрази единия и ще обикне другия, или ще се привърже към единия, а другия ще презира. Не можете да служите на Бога и на мамона.

And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

Всичко това слушаха и фарисеите, които бяха сребролюбци, и Му се присмиваха.

And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

А Той им каза: Вие сте онези, които се показвате праведни пред хората, но Бог знае вашите сърца; защото онова, което се цени високо между хората, е мерзост пред Бога.

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

Законът и пророците бяха до Йоан; оттогава Божието царство се благовества и всеки насила влиза в него.

And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

Но по-лесно е небето и земята да преминат, отколкото една точка от закона да отпадне.

Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

Всеки, който напусне жена си и се ожени за друга, прелюбодейства; и който се жени за напусната от мъж, той прелюбодейства.

There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

Имаше някой си богаташ, който се обличаше в пурпур и висон и всеки ден се веселеше бляскаво.

And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

Имаше и един сиромах на име Лазар, покрит със струпеи, когото слагаха да лежи пред портата му,

And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

като желаеше да се нахрани от трохите, които падаха от трапезата на богаташа; и кучетата идваха и лижеха раните му.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

Умря сиромахът и ангелите го занесоха в Авраамовото лоно. Умря и богаташът и беше погребан.

And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

И в ада, като беше на мъки и повдигна очи, видя отдалеч Авраам и Лазар в неговото лоно.

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

И той извика, казвайки: Отче Аврааме, смили се над мен и изпрати Лазар да натопи края на пръста си във вода и да разхлади езика ми; защото съм на мъки в този пламък.

But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

Но Авраам каза: Синко, спомни си, че ти си получил своите блага приживе, така както Лазар – злините; а сега той тук се утешава, а ти се мъчиш.

And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

И освен всичко това, между нас и вас е утвърдена голяма бездна, така че онези, които биха искали да минат оттук към вас, да не могат, нито пък оттам – да преминат към нас.

Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

А той каза: Като е така, моля ти се, отче, да го пратиш в бащиния ми дом;

For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

защото имам петима братя – за да им засвидетелства, да не би да дойдат и те в това място на мъчение.

Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

Но Авраам каза: Имат Мойсей и пророците, нека слушат тях.

And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

А той каза: Не, отче Аврааме; но ако отиде при тях някой от мъртвите, ще се покаят.

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Тогава той му каза: Ако не слушат Мойсей и пророците, то и от мъртвите да възкръсне някой, пак няма да се убедят.
