Psalms 116

Io amo l’Eterno perch’egli ha udito la mia voce e le mie supplicazioni.

I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

Poiché egli ha inclinato verso me il suo orecchio, io lo invocherò per tutto il corso dei miei giorni.

Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

I legami della morte mi aveano circondato, le angosce del soggiorno dei morti m’aveano còlto; io avevo incontrato distretta e cordoglio.

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

Ma io invocai il nome dell’Eterno: Deh, o Eterno, libera l’anima mia!

Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

L’Eterno è pietoso e giusto, e il nostro Dio è misericordioso.

Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

L’Eterno protegge i semplici; io ero ridotto in misero stato, egli mi ha salvato.

The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

Ritorna, anima mia, al tuo riposo, perché l’Eterno t’ha colmata di beni.

Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.

Poiché tu hai liberata l’anima mia dalla morte, gli occhi miei da lacrime, i miei piedi da caduta.

For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

Io camminerò nel cospetto dell’Eterno, sulla terra dei viventi.

I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

Io ho creduto, perciò parlerò. Io ero grandemente afflitto.

I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:

Io dicevo nel mio smarrimento: Ogni uomo è bugiardo.

I said in my haste, All men are liars.

Che renderò io all’Eterno? tutti i suoi benefizi son sopra me.

What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

Io prenderò il calice della salvezza e invocherò il nome dell’Eterno.

I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

Io compirò i miei voti all’Eterno, e lo farò in presenza di tutto il suo popolo.

I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

Cosa di gran momento è agli occhi dell’Eterno la morte de’ suoi diletti.

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

Sì, o Eterno, io son tuo servitore, son tuo servitore, figliuolo della tua servente; tu hai sciolto i miei legami.

O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

Io t’offrirò il sacrifizio di lode e invocherò il nome dell’Eterno.

I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

Io compirò i miei voti all’Eterno, e lo farò in presenza di tutto il suo popolo,

I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,

nei cortili della casa dell’Eterno, in mezzo a te, o Gerusalemme. Alleluia.

In the courts of the LORD'S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.
