Psalms 97

 HERREN är nu konung!      Därför fröjde sig jorden;  havsländerna glädje sig, så många som de äro.

The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

 Moln och töcken omgiva honom,  rättfärdighet och rätt      äro hans trons fäste.

Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.

 Eld går framför honom  och förbränner hans ovänner runt omkring.

A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.

 Hans ljungeldar lysa upp jordens krets;  jorden ser det och bävar.

His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

 Bergen smälta      såsom vax för HERREN,  för hela jordens Herre.

The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

 Himlarna förkunna hans rättfärdighet,  och alla folk se hans ära.

The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

 Alla de skola komma på skam, som dyrka beläten,  de som berömma sig av avgudar.  Alla gudar skola tillbedja honom.

Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.

 Sion hör det och gläder sig,  och Juda döttrar fröjda sig  för dina domars skull, HERRE.

Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD.

 Ty du, HERRE, är den Högste      över hela jorden;  du är högt upphöjd      över alla gudar.

For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

 I som älsken HERREN, haten det onda.  Han bevarar sina frommas själar,  ur de ogudaktigas hand räddar han dem.

Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

 Ljus är utsått för den rättfärdige  och glädje för de rättsinniga.

Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

 Glädjens, I rättfärdige, i HERREN,  och prisen hans heliga namn.

Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
