Psalms 80

Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.

آسف کا زبور۔ موسیقی کے راہنما کے لئے۔ طرز: عہد کے سوسن۔ اے اسرائیل کے گلہ بان، ہم پر دھیان دے! تُو جو یوسف کی ریوڑ کی طرح راہنمائی کرتا ہے، ہم پر توجہ کر! تُو جو کروبی فرشتوں کے درمیان تخت نشین ہے، اپنا نور چمکا!

Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.

افرائیم، بن یمین اور منسّی کے سامنے اپنی قدرت کو حرکت میں لا۔ ہمیں بچانے آ!

Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

اے اللہ، ہمیں بحال کر۔ اپنے چہرے کا نور چمکا تو ہم نجات پائیں گے۔

O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?

اے رب، لشکروں کے خدا، تیرا غضب کب تک بھڑکتا رہے گا، حالانکہ تیری قوم تجھ سے التجا کر رہی ہے؟

Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.

تُو نے اُنہیں آنسوؤں کی روٹی کھلائی اور آنسوؤں کا پیالہ خوب پلایا۔

Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.

تُو نے ہمیں پڑوسیوں کے جھگڑوں کا نشانہ بنایا۔ ہمارے دشمن ہمارا مذاق اُڑاتے ہیں۔

Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

اے لشکروں کے خدا، ہمیں بحال کر۔ اپنے چہرے کا نور چمکا تو ہم نجات پائیں گے۔

Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.

انگور کی جو بیل مصر میں اُگ رہی تھی اُسے تُو اُکھاڑ کر ملکِ کنعان لایا۔ تُو نے وہاں کی اقوام کو بھگا کر یہ بیل اُن کی جگہ لگائی۔

Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.

تُو نے اُس کے لئے زمین تیار کی تو وہ جڑ پکڑ کر پورے ملک میں پھیل گئی۔

The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.

اُس کا سایہ پہاڑوں پر چھا گیا، اور اُس کی شاخوں نے دیودار کے عظیم درختوں کو ڈھانک لیا۔

She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.

اُس کی ٹہنیاں مغرب میں سمندر تک پھیل گئیں، اُس کی ڈالیاں مشرق میں دریائے فرات تک پہنچ گئیں۔

Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?

تُو نے اُس کی چاردیواری کیوں گرا دی؟ اب ہر گزرنے والا اُس کے انگور توڑ لیتا ہے۔

The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.

جنگل کے سؤر اُسے کھا کھا کر تباہ کرتے، کھلے میدان کے جانور وہاں چرتے ہیں۔

Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;

اے لشکروں کے خدا، ہماری طرف دوبارہ رجوع فرما! آسمان سے نظر ڈال کر حالات پر دھیان دے۔ اِس بیل کی دیکھ بھال کر۔

And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.

اُسے محفوظ رکھ جسے تیرے دہنے ہاتھ نے زمین میں لگایا، اُس بیٹے کو جسے تُو نے اپنے لئے پالا ہے۔

It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

اِس وقت وہ کٹ کر نذرِ آتش ہوا ہے۔ تیرے چہرے کی ڈانٹ ڈپٹ سے لوگ ہلاک ہو جاتے ہیں۔

Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.

تیرا ہاتھ اپنے دہنے ہاتھ کے بندے کو پناہ دے، اُس آدم زاد کو جسے تُو نے اپنے لئے پالا تھا۔

So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.

تب ہم تجھ سے دُور نہیں ہو جائیں گے۔ بخش دے کہ ہماری جان میں جان آئے تو ہم تیرا نام پکاریں گے۔

Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

اے رب، لشکروں کے خدا، ہمیں بحال کر۔ اپنے چہرے کا نور چمکا تو ہم نجات پائیں گے۔
