Ezra 10

Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.

جب عزرا اِس طرح دعا کر رہا اور اللہ کے گھر کے سامنے پڑے ہوئے اور روتے ہوئے قوم کے قصور کا اقرار کر رہا تھا تو اُس کے ارد گرد اسرائیلی مردوں، عورتوں اور بچوں کا بڑا ہجوم جمع ہو گیا۔ وہ بھی پھوٹ پھوٹ کر رونے لگے۔

And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.

پھر عیلام کے خاندان کے سکنیاہ بن یحی ایل نے عزرا سے کہا، ”واقعی ہم نے پڑوسی قوموں کی عورتوں سے شادی کر کے اپنے خدا سے بےوفائی کی ہے۔ توبھی اب تک اسرائیل کے لئے اُمید کی کرن باقی ہے۔

Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.

آئیں، ہم اپنے خدا سے عہد باندھ کر وعدہ کریں کہ ہم اُن تمام عورتوں کو اُن کے بچوں سمیت واپس بھیج دیں گے۔ جو بھی مشورہ آپ اور اللہ کے احکام کا خوف ماننے والے دیگر لوگ ہمیں دیں گے وہ ہم کریں گے۔ سب کچھ شریعت کے مطابق کیا جائے۔

Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it.

اب اُٹھیں! کیونکہ یہ معاملہ درست کرنا آپ ہی کا فرض ہے۔ ہم آپ کے ساتھ ہیں، اِس لئے حوصلہ رکھیں اور وہ کچھ کریں جو ضروری ہے۔“

Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they sware.

تب عزرا اُٹھا اور راہنما اماموں، لاویوں اور تمام قوم کو قَسم کھلائی کہ ہم سکنیاہ کے مشورے پر عمل کریں گے۔

Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.

پھر عزرا اللہ کے گھر کے سامنے سے چلا گیا اور یوحنان بن اِلیاسب کے کمرے میں داخل ہوا۔ وہاں اُس نے پوری رات کچھ کھائے پیئے بغیر گزاری۔ اب تک وہ جلاوطنی سے واپس آئے ہوئے لوگوں کی بےوفائی پر ماتم کر رہا تھا۔

And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem;

سرکاری افسروں اور بزرگوں نے فیصلہ کیا کہ یروشلم اور پورے یہوداہ میں اعلان کیا جائے، ”لازم ہے کہ جتنے بھی اسرائیلی جلاطنی سے واپس آئے ہیں وہ سب تین دن کے اندر اندر یروشلم میں جمع ہو جائیں۔ جو بھی اِس دوران حاضر نہ ہو اُسے جلاوطنوں کی جماعت سے خارج کر دیا جائے گا اور اُس کی تمام ملکیت ضبط ہو جائے گی۔“

And that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away.

سرکاری افسروں اور بزرگوں نے فیصلہ کیا کہ یروشلم اور پورے یہوداہ میں اعلان کیا جائے، ”لازم ہے کہ جتنے بھی اسرائیلی جلاطنی سے واپس آئے ہیں وہ سب تین دن کے اندر اندر یروشلم میں جمع ہو جائیں۔ جو بھی اِس دوران حاضر نہ ہو اُسے جلاوطنوں کی جماعت سے خارج کر دیا جائے گا اور اُس کی تمام ملکیت ضبط ہو جائے گی۔“

Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.

تب یہوداہ اور بن یمین کے قبیلوں کے تمام آدمی تین دن کے اندر اندر یروشلم پہنچے۔ نویں مہینے کے بیسویں دن سب لوگ اللہ کے گھر کے صحن میں جمع ہوئے۔ سب معاملے کی سنجیدگی اور موسم کے سبب سے کانپ رہے تھے، کیونکہ بارش ہو رہی تھی۔

And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel.

عزرا امام کھڑے ہو کر کہنے لگا، ”آپ اللہ سے بےوفا ہو گئے ہیں۔ غیریہودی عورتوں سے رشتہ باندھنے سے آپ نے اسرائیل کے قصور میں اضافہ کر دیا ہے۔

Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.

اب رب اپنے باپ دادا کے خدا کے حضور اپنے گناہوں کا اقرار کر کے اُس کی مرضی پوری کریں۔ پڑوسی قوموں اور اپنی پردیسی بیویوں سے الگ ہو جائیں۔“

Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do.

پوری جماعت نے بلند آواز سے جواب دیا، ”آپ ٹھیک کہتے ہیں! لازم ہے کہ ہم آپ کی ہدایت پر عمل کریں۔

But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing.

لیکن یہ کوئی ایسا معاملہ نہیں ہے جو ایک یا دو دن میں درست کیا جا سکے۔ کیونکہ ہم بہت لوگ ہیں اور ہم سے سنجیدہ گناہ سرزد ہوا ہے۔ نیز، اِس وقت برسات کا موسم ہے، اور ہم زیادہ دیر باہر نہیں ٹھہر سکتے۔

Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.

بہتر ہے کہ ہمارے بزرگ پوری جماعت کی نمائندگی کریں۔ پھر جتنے بھی آدمیوں کی غیریہودی بیویاں ہیں وہ ایک مقررہ دن مقامی بزرگوں اور قاضیوں کو ساتھ لے کر یہاں آئیں اور معاملہ درست کریں۔ اور لازم ہے کہ یہ سلسلہ اُس وقت تک جاری رہے جب تک رب کا غضب ٹھنڈا نہ ہو جائے۔“

Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahaziah the son of Tikvah were employed about this matter: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.

تمام لوگ متفق ہوئے، صرف یونتن بن عساہیل اور یحزیاہ بن تِقوَہ نے فیصلے کی مخالفت کی جبکہ مسُلّام اور سبّتی لاوی اُن کے حق میں تھے۔

And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain chief of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them by their names, were separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.

توبھی اسرائیلیوں نے منصوبے پر عمل کیا۔ عزرا امام نے چند ایک خاندانی سرپرستوں کے نام لے کر اُنہیں یہ ذمہ داری دی کہ جہاں بھی کسی یہودی مرد کی غیریہودی عورت سے شادی ہوئی ہے وہاں وہ پورے معاملے کی تحقیق کریں۔ اُن کا کام دسویں مہینے کے پہلے دن شروع ہوا اور پہلے مہینے کے پہلے دن تکمیل تک پہنچا۔

And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.

توبھی اسرائیلیوں نے منصوبے پر عمل کیا۔ عزرا امام نے چند ایک خاندانی سرپرستوں کے نام لے کر اُنہیں یہ ذمہ داری دی کہ جہاں بھی کسی یہودی مرد کی غیریہودی عورت سے شادی ہوئی ہے وہاں وہ پورے معاملے کی تحقیق کریں۔ اُن کا کام دسویں مہینے کے پہلے دن شروع ہوا اور پہلے مہینے کے پہلے دن تکمیل تک پہنچا۔

And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.

درجِ ذیل اُن آدمیوں کی فہرست ہے جنہوں نے غیریہودی عورتوں سے شادی کی تھی۔ اُنہوں نے قَسم کھا کر وعدہ کیا کہ ہم اپنی بیویوں سے الگ ہو جائیں گے۔ ساتھ ساتھ ہر ایک نے قصور کی قربانی کے طور پر مینڈھا قربان کیا۔ اماموں میں سے قصوروار: یشوع بن یو صدق اور اُس کے بھائی معسیاہ، اِلی عزر، یریب اور جِدلیاہ،

And they gave their hands that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their trespass.

درجِ ذیل اُن آدمیوں کی فہرست ہے جنہوں نے غیریہودی عورتوں سے شادی کی تھی۔ اُنہوں نے قَسم کھا کر وعدہ کیا کہ ہم اپنی بیویوں سے الگ ہو جائیں گے۔ ساتھ ساتھ ہر ایک نے قصور کی قربانی کے طور پر مینڈھا قربان کیا۔ اماموں میں سے قصوروار: یشوع بن یو صدق اور اُس کے بھائی معسیاہ، اِلی عزر، یریب اور جِدلیاہ،

And of the sons of Immer; Hanani, and Zebadiah.

اِمیّرکے خاندان کا حنانی اور زبدیاہ،

And of the sons of Harim; Maaseiah, and Elijah, and Shemaiah, and Jehiel, and Uzziah.

حارِم کے خاندان کا معسیاہ، الیاس، سمعیاہ، یحی ایل اور عُزیّاہ،

And of the sons of Pashur; Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Jozabad, and Elasah.

فشحور کے خاندان کا اِلیوعینی، معسیاہ، اسمٰعیل، نتنی ایل، یوزبد اور اِلعاسہ۔

Also of the Levites; Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (the same is Kelita,) Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.

لاویوں میں سے قصوروار: یوزبد، سِمعی، قلایاہ یعنی قلیطا، فتحیاہ، یہوداہ اور اِلی عزر۔

Of the singers also; Eliashib: and of the porters; Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.

گلوکاروں میں سے قصوروار: اِلیاسب۔ رب کے گھر کے دربانوں میں سے قصوروار: سلّوم، طِلِم اور اُوری۔

Moreover of Israel: of the sons of Parosh; Ramiah, and Jeziah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah.

باقی قصوروار اسرائیلی: پرعوس کے خاندان کا رمیاہ، یزیاہ، ملکیاہ، میامین، اِلی عزر، ملکیاہ اور بِنایاہ۔

And of the sons of Elam; Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Eliah.

عیلام کے خاندان کا متنیاہ، زکریاہ، یحی ایل، عبدی، یریموت اور الیاس،

And of the sons of Zattu; Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.

زتّو کے خاندان کا اِلیوعینی، اِلیاسب، متنیاہ، یریموت، زبد اور عزیزا۔

Of the sons also of Bebai; Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, and Athlai.

ببی کے خاندان کا یوحنان، حننیاہ، زبی اور عتلی۔

And of the sons of Bani; Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Jashub, and Sheal, and Ramoth.

بانی کے خاندان کا مسُلّام، ملّوک، عدایاہ، یسوب، سیال اور یریموت۔

And of the sons of Pahath–moab; Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezaleel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.

پخت موآب کے خاندان کا عدنا، کلال، بِنایاہ، معسیاہ، متنیاہ، بضلی ایل، بِنّوئی اور منسّی۔

And of the sons of Harim; Eliezer, Ishijah, Malchiah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,

حارِم کے خاندان کا اِلی عزر، یِسیاہ، ملکیاہ، سمعیاہ، شمعون،

Benjamin, Malluch, and Shemariah.

بن یمین، ملّوک اور سمریاہ۔

Of the sons of Hashum; Mattenai, Mattathah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh, and Shimei.

حاشوم کے خاندان کا متّنی، متتاہ، زبد، اِلی فلط، یریمی، منسّی اور سِمعی۔

Of the sons of Bani; Maadai, Amram, and Uel,

بانی کے خاندان کا معدی، عمرام، اُوایل،

Benaiah, Bedeiah, Chelluh,

بِنایاہ، بدیاہ، کلوہی،

Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,

وَنیاہ، مریموت، اِلیاسب،

Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Jaasau,

متنیاہ، متّنی اور یعسی۔

And Bani, and Binnui, Shimei,

بِنّوئی کے خاندان کا سِمعی،

And Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah,

سلمیاہ، ناتن، عدایاہ،

Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai,

مکندبی، ساسی، ساری،

Azareel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah,

عزرایل، سلمیاہ، سمریاہ،

Shallum, Amariah, and Joseph.

سلّوم، امریاہ اور یوسف۔

Of the sons of Nebo; Jeiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Jadau, and Joel, Benaiah.

نبو کے خاندان کا یعی ایل، متِتیاہ، زبد، زبینا، یدّی، یوایل اور بِنایاہ۔

All these had taken strange wives: and some of them had wives by whom they had children.

اِن تمام آدمیوں کی غیریہودی عورتوں سے شادی ہوئی تھی، اور اُن کے ہاں بچے پیدا ہوئے تھے۔
