II Samuel 15

And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him.

کچھ دیر کے بعد ابی سلوم نے رتھ اور گھوڑے خریدے اور ساتھ ساتھ 50 محافظ بھی رکھے جو اُس کے آگے آگے دوڑیں۔

And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.

روزانہ وہ صبح سویرے اُٹھ کر شہر کے دروازے پر جاتا۔ جب کبھی کوئی شخص اِس مقصد سے شہر میں داخل ہوتا کہ بادشاہ اُس کے کسی مقدمے کا فیصلہ کرے تو ابی سلوم اُس سے مخاطب ہو کر پوچھتا، ”آپ کس شہر سے ہیں؟“ اگر وہ جواب دیتا، ”مَیں اسرائیل کے فلاں قبیلے سے ہوں،“

And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee.

تو ابی سلوم کہتا، ”بےشک آپ اِس مقدمے کو جیت سکتے ہیں، لیکن افسوس! بادشاہ کا کوئی بھی بندہ اِس پر صحیح دھیان نہیں دے گا۔“

Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!

پھر وہ بات جاری رکھتا، ”کاش مَیں ہی ملک پر اعلیٰ قاضی مقرر کیا گیا ہوتا! پھر سب لوگ اپنے مقدمے مجھے پیش کر سکتے اور مَیں اُن کا صحیح انصاف کر دیتا۔“

And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him.

اور اگر کوئی قریب آ کر ابی سلوم کے سامنے جھکنے لگتا تو وہ اُسے روک کر اُس کو گلے لگاتا اور بوسہ دیتا۔

And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.

یہ اُس کا اُن تمام اسرائیلیوں کے ساتھ سلوک تھا جو اپنے مقدمے بادشاہ کو پیش کرنے کے لئے آتے تھے۔ یوں اُس نے اسرائیلیوں کے دلوں کو اپنی طرف مائل کر لیا۔

And it came to pass after forty years, that Absalom said unto the king, I pray thee, let me go and pay my vow, which I have vowed unto the LORD, in Hebron.

یہ سلسلہ چار سال جاری رہا۔ ایک دن ابی سلوم نے داؤد سے بات کی، ”مجھے حبرون جانے کی اجازت دیجئے، کیونکہ مَیں نے رب سے ایسی مَنت مانی ہے جس کے لئے ضروری ہے کہ حبرون جاؤں۔

For thy servant vowed a vow while I abode at Geshur in Syria, saying, If the LORD shall bring me again indeed to Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD.

کیونکہ جب مَیں جسور میں تھا تو مَیں نے قَسم کھا کر وعدہ کیا تھا، ’اے رب، اگر تُو مجھے یروشلم واپس لائے تو مَیں حبرون میں تیری پرستش کروں گا‘۔“

And the king said unto him, Go in peace. So he arose, and went to Hebron.

بادشاہ نے جواب دیا، ”ٹھیک ہے۔ سلامتی سے جائیں۔“

But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, As soon as ye hear the sound of the trumpet, then ye shall say, Absalom reigneth in Hebron.

لیکن حبرون پہنچ کر ابی سلوم نے خفیہ طور پر اپنے قاصدوں کو اسرائیل کے تمام قبائلی علاقوں میں بھیج دیا۔ جہاں بھی وہ گئے اُنہوں نے اعلان کیا، ”جوں ہی نرسنگے کی آواز سنائی دے آپ سب کو کہنا ہے، ’ابی سلوم حبرون میں بادشاہ بن گیا ہے‘!“

And with Absalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem, that were called; and they went in their simplicity, and they knew not any thing.

ابی سلوم کے ساتھ 200 مہمان یروشلم سے حبرون آئے تھے۔ وہ بےلوث تھے، اور اُنہیں اِس کے بارے میں علم ہی نہ تھا۔

And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counsellor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.

جب حبرون میں قربانیاں چڑھائی جا رہی تھیں تو ابی سلوم نے داؤد کے ایک مشیر کو بُلایا جو جِلوہ کا رہنے والا تھا۔ اُس کا نام اخی تُفل جلونی تھا۔ وہ آیا اور ابی سلوم کے ساتھ مل گیا۔ یوں ابی سلوم کے پیروکاروں میں اضافہ ہوتا گیا اور اُس کی سازشیں زور پکڑنے لگیں۔

And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom.

ایک قاصد نے داؤد کے پاس پہنچ کر اُسے اطلاع دی، ”ابی سلوم آپ کے خلاف اُٹھ کھڑا ہوا ہے، اور تمام اسرائیل اُس کے پیچھے لگ گیا ہے۔“

And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.

داؤد نے اپنے ملازموں سے کہا، ”آؤ، ہم فوراً ہجرت کریں، ورنہ ابی سلوم کے قبضے میں آ جائیں گے۔ جلدی کریں تاکہ ہم فوراً روانہ ہو سکیں، کیونکہ وہ کوشش کرے گا کہ جتنی جلدی ہو سکے یہاں پہنچے۔ اگر ہم اُس وقت شہر سے نکلے نہ ہوں تو وہ ہم پر آفت لا کر شہر کے باشندوں کو مار ڈالے گا۔“

And the king's servants said unto the king, Behold, thy servants are ready to do whatsoever my lord the king shall appoint.

بادشاہ کے ملازموں نے جواب دیا، ”جو بھی فیصلہ ہمارے آقا اور بادشاہ کریں ہم حاضر ہیں۔“

And the king went forth, and all his household after him. And the king left ten women, which were concubines, to keep the house.

بادشاہ اپنے پورے خاندان کے ساتھ روانہ ہوا۔ صرف دس داشتائیں محل کو سنبھالنے کے لئے پیچھے رہ گئیں۔

And the king went forth, and all the people after him, and tarried in a place that was far off.

جب داؤد اپنے تمام لوگوں کے ساتھ شہر کے آخری گھر تک پہنچا تو وہ رُک گیا۔

And all his servants passed on beside him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men which came after him from Gath, passed on before the king.

اُس نے اپنے تمام پیروکاروں کو آگے نکلنے دیا، پہلے شاہی دستے کریتی و فلیتی کو، پھر اُن 600 جاتی آدمیوں کو جو اُس کے ساتھ جات سے یہاں آئے تھے اور آخر میں باقی تمام لوگوں کو۔

Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore goest thou also with us? return to thy place, and abide with the king: for thou art a stranger, and also an exile.

جب فلستی شہر جات کا آدمی اِتّی داؤد کے سامنے سے گزرنے لگا تو بادشاہ اُس سے مخاطب ہوا، ”آپ ہمارے ساتھ کیوں جائیں؟ نہیں، واپس چلے جائیں اور نئے بادشاہ کے ساتھ رہیں۔ آپ تو غیرملکی ہیں اور اِس لئے اسرائیل میں رہتے ہیں کہ آپ کو جلاوطن کر دیا گیا ہے۔

Whereas thou camest but yesterday, should I this day make thee go up and down with us? seeing I go whither I may, return thou, and take back thy brethren: mercy and truth be with thee.

آپ کو یہاں آئے تھوڑی دیر ہوئی ہے، تو کیا مناسب ہے کہ آپ کو دوبارہ میری وجہ سے کبھی اِدھر کبھی اُدھر گھومنا پڑے؟ کیا پتا ہے کہ مجھے کہاں کہاں جانا پڑے۔ اِس لئے واپس چلے جائیں، اور اپنے ہم وطنوں کو بھی اپنے ساتھ لے جائیں۔ رب آپ پر اپنی مہربانی اور وفاداری کا اظہار کرے۔“

And Ittai answered the king, and said, As the LORD liveth, and as my lord the king liveth, surely in what place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even there also will thy servant be.

لیکن اِتّی نے اعتراض کیا، ”میرے آقا، رب اور بادشاہ کی حیات کی قَسم، مَیں آپ کو کبھی نہیں چھوڑ سکتا، خواہ مجھے اپنی جان بھی قربان کرنی پڑے۔“

And David said to Ittai, Go and pass over. And Ittai the Gittite passed over, and all his men, and all the little ones that were with him.

تب داؤد مان گیا۔ ”چلو، پھر آگے نکلیں!“ چنانچہ اِتّی اپنے لوگوں اور اُن کے خاندانوں کے ساتھ آگے نکلا۔

And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.

آخر میں داؤد نے وادیِ قدرون کو پار کر کے ریگستان کی طرف رُخ کیا۔ گرد و نواح کے تمام لوگ بادشاہ کو اُس کے پیروکاروں سمیت روانہ ہوتے ہوئے دیکھ کر پھوٹ پھوٹ کر رونے لگے۔

And lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people had done passing out of the city.

صدوق امام اور تمام لاوی بھی داؤد کے ساتھ شہر سے نکل آئے تھے۔ لاوی عہد کا صندوق اُٹھائے چل رہے تھے۔ اب اُنہوں نے اُسے شہر سے باہر زمین پر رکھ دیا، اور ابیاتر وہاں قربانیاں چڑھانے لگا۔ لوگوں کے شہر سے نکلنے کے پورے عرصے کے دوران وہ قربانیاں چڑھاتا رہا۔

And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and shew me both it, and his habitation:

پھر داؤد صدوق سے مخاطب ہوا، ”اللہ کا صندوق شہر میں واپس لے جائیں۔ اگر رب کی نظرِ کرم مجھ پر ہوئی تو وہ کسی دن مجھے شہر میں واپس لا کر عہد کے صندوق اور اُس کی سکونت گاہ کو دوبارہ دیکھنے کی اجازت دے گا۔

But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him.

لیکن اگر وہ فرمائے کہ تُو مجھے پسند نہیں ہے، تو مَیں یہ بھی برداشت کرنے کے لئے تیار ہوں۔ وہ میرے ساتھ وہ کچھ کرے جو اُسے مناسب لگے۔

The king said also unto Zadok the priest, Art not thou a seer? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.

جہاں تک آپ کا تعلق ہے، اپنے بیٹے اخی معض کو ساتھ لے کر صحیح سلامت شہر میں واپس چلے جائیں۔ ابیاتر اور اُس کا بیٹا یونتن بھی ساتھ جائیں۔

See, I will tarry in the plain of the wilderness, until there come word from you to certify me.

مَیں خود ریگستان میں دریائے یردن کی اُس جگہ رُک جاؤں گا جہاں ہم آسانی سے دریا کو پار کر سکیں گے۔ وہاں آپ مجھے یروشلم کے حالات کے بارے میں پیغام بھیج سکتے ہیں۔ مَیں آپ کے انتظار میں رہوں گا۔“

Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem: and they tarried there.

چنانچہ صدوق اور ابیاتر عہد کا صندوق شہر میں واپس لے جا کر وہیں رہے۔

And David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, and wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went barefoot: and all the people that was with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.

داؤد روتے روتے زیتون کے پہاڑ پر چڑھنے لگا۔ اُس کا سر ڈھانپا ہوا تھا، اور وہ ننگے پاؤں چل رہا تھا۔ باقی سب کے سر بھی ڈھانپے ہوئے تھے، سب روتے روتے چڑھنے لگے۔

And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.

راستے میں داؤد کو اطلاع دی گئی، ”اخی تُفل بھی ابی سلوم کے ساتھ مل گیا ہے۔“ یہ سن کر داؤد نے دعا کی، ”اے رب، بخش دے کہ اخی تُفل کے مشورے ناکام ہو جائیں۔“

And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the mount, where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head:

چلتے چلتے داؤد پہاڑ کی چوٹی پر پہنچ گیا جہاں اللہ کی پرستش کی جاتی تھی۔ وہاں حوسی ارکی اُس سے ملنے آیا۔ اُس کے کپڑے پھٹے ہوئے تھے، اور سر پر خاک تھی۔

Unto whom David said, If thou passest on with me, then thou shalt be a burden unto me:

داؤد نے اُس سے کہا، ”اگر آپ میرے ساتھ جائیں تو آپ صرف بوجھ کا باعث بنیں گے۔

But if thou return to the city, and say unto Absalom, I will be thy servant, O king; as I have been thy father's servant hitherto, so will I now also be thy servant: then mayest thou for me defeat the counsel of Ahithophel.

بہتر ہے کہ آپ لوٹ کر شہر میں جائیں اور ابی سلوم سے کہیں، ’اے بادشاہ، مَیں آپ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوں۔ پہلے مَیں آپ کے باپ کی خدمت کرتا تھا، اور اب آپ ہی کی خدمت کروں گا۔‘ اگر آپ ایسا کریں تو آپ اخی تُفل کے مشورے ناکام بنانے میں میری بڑی مدد کریں گے۔

And hast thou not there with thee Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, that what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king's house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.

آپ اکیلے نہیں ہوں گے۔ دونوں امام صدوق اور ابیاتر بھی یروشلم میں پیچھے رہ گئے ہیں۔ دربار میں جو بھی منصوبے باندھے جائیں گے وہ اُنہیں بتائیں۔ صدوق کا بیٹا اخی معض اور ابیاتر کا بیٹا یونتن مجھے ہر خبر پہنچائیں گے، کیونکہ وہ بھی شہر میں ٹھہرے ہوئے ہیں۔“

Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok's son, and Jonathan Abiathar's son; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye can hear.

آپ اکیلے نہیں ہوں گے۔ دونوں امام صدوق اور ابیاتر بھی یروشلم میں پیچھے رہ گئے ہیں۔ دربار میں جو بھی منصوبے باندھے جائیں گے وہ اُنہیں بتائیں۔ صدوق کا بیٹا اخی معض اور ابیاتر کا بیٹا یونتن مجھے ہر خبر پہنچائیں گے، کیونکہ وہ بھی شہر میں ٹھہرے ہوئے ہیں۔“

So Hushai David's friend came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem.

تب داؤد کا دوست حوسی واپس چلا گیا۔ وہ اُس وقت پہنچ گیا جب ابی سلوم یروشلم میں داخل ہو رہا تھا۔
