Job 18

Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

How long will it be ere ye make an end of words? mark, and afterwards we will speak.

Dokądże nie uczynicie końca mowom? pomyślcie pierwej, a potem mówić będziemy.

Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed vile in your sight?

Czemuż nas poczytają jako bydło? zdajemy się mu przemierzłymi, jako sami widzicie.

He teareth himself in his anger: shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of his place?

Ty, który duszę twoję tracisz w zapalczywości twojej, azaż dla ciebie będzie opuszczona ziemia, a będą przeniesione skały z miejsca swego?

Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine.

Owszem, światłość niepobożnych zgaśnie, i nie będzie świeciła iskra ognia ich.

The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him.

Światło się zaćmi w przybytku jego, i pochodnia jego nad nim zgaśnie.

The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.

Ściśnione będą kroki siły jego, a porazi go rada jego.

For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a snare.

Bo zawiodą w sieci nogi jego, i w uwikłaniu chodzić będzie.

The gin shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail against him.

Uchwyci go sidło za piętę jego, i przemoże go łupieżca.

The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.

Skryty jest w ziemi powróz jego, a samołówka jego na ścieszce.

Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.

Zewsząd go straszyć będą strachy, a nacierać będą na nogi jego.

His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side.

Wymorzy się głodem siła jego, a zginienie pogotowiu jest przy boku jego.

It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death shall devour his strength.

Pożre żyły skóry jego, pożre członki jego pierworodny śmierci.

His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors.

Ufanie jego będzie wykorzenione z przybytku jego, a przywiedzie go do króla strachów.

It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.

Będzie mieszkał strach w przybytku jego, chociaż nie był jego, a siarką będzie potrząśnione mieszkanie jego.

His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off.

Ze spodku korzeń jego uschnie, a z wierzchu będzie obcięta gałąź jego.

His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street.

Pamiątka jego zginie z ziemi, a imienia jego nie wspomną po ulicach.

He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.

Wypędzą go z światłości do ciemności, a z okręgu świata wyrzucą go.

He shall neither have son nor nephew among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.

Nie będzie syn ani wnuk między ludem jego, i nikt nie pozostanie w mieszkaniach jego.

They that come after him shall be astonied at his day, as they that went before were affrighted.

Nade dniem jego zdumiewają się potomkowie, a przodków ogarnie strach.

Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.

Takoweć są mieszkania niezbożnego, i do tego przychodzi temu, który nie zna Boga.
