Psalms 115

115:1

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.

यहोवा! हमको कोई गौरव ग्रहण नहीं करना चाहिये। गौरव तो तेरा है। तेरे प्रेम और निष्ठा के कारण गौरव तेरा है।

115:2

Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

राष्ट्रों को क्यों अचरज हो कि हमारा परमेश्वर कहाँ है?

115:3

But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

परमेश्वर स्वर्ग में है। जो कुछ वह चाहता है वही करता रहता है।

115:4

Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

उन जातियों के “देवता” बस केवल पुतले हैं जो सोने चाँदी के बने है। वह बस केवल पुतले हैं जो किसी मानव ने बनाये।

115:5

They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:

उन पुतलों के मुख है, पर वे बोल नहीं पाते। उनकी आँखे हैं, पर वे देख नहीं पाते।

115:6

They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

उनके कान हैं, पर वे सुन नहीं सकते। उनकी पास नाक है, किन्तु वे सूँघ नहीं पाते।

115:7

They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.

उनके हाथ हैं, पर वे किसी वस्तु को छू नहीं सकते, उनके पास पैर हैं, पर वे चल नहीं सकते। उनके कंठो से स्वर फूटते नहीं हैं।

115:8

They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.

जो व्यक्ति इस पुतले को रखते और उनमें विश्वास रखते हैं बिल्कुल इन पुतलों से बन जायेंगे!

115:9

O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

ओ इस्राएल के लोगों, यहोवा में भरोसा रखो! यहोवा इस्राएल को सहायता देता है और उसकी रक्षा करता है
