Job 12

And Job answered and said,

फिर अय्यूब ने सोपर को उत्तर दिया:

No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.

“निःसन्देह तुम सोचते हो कि मात्र तुम ही लोग बुद्धिमान हो, तुम सोचते हो कि जब तुम मरोगे तो विवेक मर जायेगा तुम्हारे साथ।

But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?

किन्तु तुम्हारे जितनी मेरी बुद्धि भी उत्तम है, मैं तुम से कुछ घट कर नहीं हूँ। ऐसी बातों को जैसी तुम कहते हो, हर कोई जानता है।

I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.

“अब मेरे मित्र मेरी हँसी उड़ाते हैं, वह कहते है: ‘हाँ, वह परमेश्वर से विनती किया करता था, और वह उसे उत्तर देता था। इसलिए यह सब बुरी बातें उसके साथ घटित हो रही है।’ यद्यपि मैं दोषरहित और खरा हूँ, लेकिन वे मेरी हँसी उड़ाते हैं।

He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.

ऐसे लोग जिन पर विपदा नहीं पड़ी, विपदाग्रस्त लोगों की हँसी किया करते हैं। ऐसे लोग गिरते हुये व्यक्ति को धक्का दिया करते हैं।

The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.

डाकुओं के डेरे निश्चिंत रहते हैं, ऐसे लोग जो परमेश्वर को रुष्ट करते हैं, शांति से रहते हैं। स्वयं अपने बल को वह अपना परमेश्वर मानते हैं।

But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:

“चाहे तू पशु से पूछ कर देख, वे तुझे सिखादेंगे, अथवा हवा के पक्षियों से पूछ वे तुझे बता देंगे।

Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

अथवा तू धरती से पूछ ले वह तुझको सिखा देगी या सागर की मछलियों को अपना ज्ञान तुझे बताने दे।

Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?

हर कोई जानता है कि परमेश्वर ने इन सब वस्तुओं को रचा है।

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

हर जीवित पशु और हर एक प्राणी जो साँस लेता है, परमेश्वर की शक्ति के अधीन है।

Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?

जैसे जीभ भोजन का स्वाद चखती है, वैसी ही कानों को शब्दों को परखना भाता है।

With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.

हम कहते है, “ऐसे ही बूढ़ों के पास विवेक रहता है और लम्बी आयु समझ बूझ देती है।”

With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.

विवेक और सामर्थ्य परमेश्वर के साथ रहते है, सम्मत्ति और सूझ—बूझ उसी की ही होती है।

Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.

यदि परमेश्वर किसी वस्तु को ढा गिराये तो, फिर लोग उसे नहीं बना सकते। यदि परमेश्वर किसी व्यक्ति को बन्दी बनाये, तो लोग उसे मुक्त नहीं कर सकते।

Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.

यदि परमेश्वर वर्षा को रोके तो धरती सूख जायेगी। यदि परमेश्वर वर्षा को छूट दे दे, तो वह धरती पर बाढ़ ले आयेगी।

With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.

परमेश्वर समर्थ है और वह सदा विजयी होता है। वह व्यक्ति जो छलता है और वह व्यक्ति जो छला जाता है दोनो परमेश्वर के हैं।

He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.

परमेश्वर मन्त्रियों को बुद्धि से वंचित कर देता है, और वह प्रमुखों को ऐसा बना देता है कि वे मूर्ख जनों जैसा व्यवहार करने लगते हैं।

He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.

राजा बन्दियों पर जंजीर डालते हैं किन्तु उन्हें परमेश्वर खोल देता है। फिर परमेश्वर उन राजाओं पर एक कमरबन्द बांध देता है।

He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.

परमेश्वर याजकों को बन्दी बना कर, पद से हटाता है और तुच्छ बना कर ले जाता है। वह बलि और शक्तिशाली लोगों को शक्तिहीन कर देता है।

He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.

परमेश्वर विश्वासपात्र सलाह देनेवाले को चुप करा देता है। वह वृद्ध लोगों का विवेक छीन लेता है।

He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.

परमेश्वर महत्वपूर्ण हाकिमों पर घृणा उंडेल देता है। वह शासकों की शक्ति छीन लिया करता है।

He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.

परमेश्वर गहन अंधकार से रहस्यपूर्ण सत्य को प्रगट करता है। ऐसे स्थानों में जहाँ मृत्यु सा अंधेरा है वह प्रकाश भेजता है।

He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again.

परमेश्वर राष्ट्रों को विशाल और शक्तिशाली होने देता है, और फिर उनको वह नष्ट कर डालता है। वह राष्ट्रों को विकसित कर विशाल बनने देता है, फिर उनके लोगों को वह तितर—बितर कर देता है।

He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.

परमेश्वर धरती के प्रमुखों को मूर्ख बना देता है, और उन्हें नासमझ बना देता है। वह उनको मरुभूमि में जहाँ कोई राह नहीं भटकने को भेज देता है।

They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.

वे प्रमुख अंधकार के बीच टटोलते हैं, कोई भी प्रकाश उनके पास नहीं होता है। परमेश्वर उनको ऐसे चलाता है, जैसे पी कर धुत्त हुये लोग चलते हैं।
