II Corinthians 6

We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

پس ما که در كارهای خدا سهیم هستیم، از شما كه فیض خدا را یافته‌اید درخواست می‌کنیم كه نگذارید آن فیض در زندگی شما بی‌اثر بماند،

(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

زیرا او می‌فرماید: «در زمان مطلوب به تو گوش دادم، و در روز نجات تو را كمک كردم» گوش بدهید! این زمان، زمان مطلوب است و امروز، روز نجات!

Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

ما نمی‌خواهیم به هیچ وجه باعث لغزش كسی بشویم، مبادا نقصی در خدمت ما یافت شود،

But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

بلكه می‌خواهیم با هر كاری كه می‌کنیم نشان دهیم كه خادمان حقیقی خدا هستیم، یعنی با تحمّل زحمات و سختی‌ها و دشواریها.

In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;

ما در شلاّق خوردنها، حبس‌ها، شورشها، بی‌خوابی‌ها، گرسنگی‌ها و تلاش‌ها و

By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,

همچنین با خلوص نیّت، معرفت، صبر، حوصله و مهربانی نشان می‌دهیم كه خادمان خدا هستیم. تمام این كارها را با كمک روح‌القدس و با محبّت بی‌ریا

By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

در اعلام پیام حقیقت و با قدرت خدا انجام می‌دهیم. تنها اسلحهٔ ما، هم در دفاع و هم در حمله، داشتن زندگی پاک و بی‌آلایش است.

By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

گاه احترام و گاهی بی‌احترامی می‌بینیم. گاه مورد لعن و گاهی مورد ستایش هستیم. ما را افرادی دروغگو می‌شمارند، حال آنكه راستگو هستیم.

As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

گمنام ولی در عین حال مشهوریم؛ به حال مرگ افتادیم ولی هنوز زنده‌ایم. ما شكنجه می‌بینیم، ولی به قتل نمی‌رسیم.

As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

غمگین، ولی پیوسته شادمانیم؛ ما چون گدا فقیریم، ولی در عین حال بسیاری را دولتمند می‌سازیم؛ بی‌چیزیم امّا دارای همه‌چیز هستیم.

O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.

ای مردمان قرنتس، ما چیزی از شما پنهان نکرده‌ایم؛ بلكه دلهای خود را برای شما گشوده‌ایم.

Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.

اگر روابط شما با ما به سردی گراییده است، این از جانب ما نیست؛ بلكه باید ریشهٔ آن را در دلهای خود بجویید.

Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged.

آیا شما نباید در مقابل محبّت ما همان گرمی را نشان دهید و دلهایتان را به سوی ما بگشایید؟ (من مانند یک پدر با فرزندان خود سخن می‌گویم.)

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

از وابستگی‌های نامناسب با افراد بی‌ایمان دوری كنید. زیرا چه شراكتی بین نیكی و شرارت است و چه رفاقتی بین روشنایی و تاریكی؟

And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

چه توافقی بین مسیح و ابلیس وجود دارد و چه هماهنگی بین ایماندار و بی‌ایمان؟

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

و یا چه وجه اشتراكی بین خانهٔ خدا و بُتها هست؟ زیرا ما خانهٔ خدای زنده هستیم، چنانکه خدا فرموده است: «من در ایشان ساكن خواهم بود و در میان آنها به سر خواهم برد. من خدای ایشان خواهم بود و آنان قوم من.»

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

و خداوند می‌فرماید: «از میان آنها خارج شوید و خود را از آنان جدا سازید و به چیزهای ناپاک دست نزنید و من شما را خواهم پذیرفت.»

And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

و خداوند متعال می‌فرماید: «من پدر شما خواهم بود و شما پسران و دختران من خواهید بود.»
