Romans 8

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Nikakve dakle sada osude onima koji su u Kristu Isusu!

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Ta zakon Duha života u Kristu Isusu oslobodi me zakona grijeha i smrti.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Uistinu, što je bilo nemoguće Zakonu, jer je zbog tijela onemoćao, Bog je učinio: poslavši Sina svoga u obličju grešnoga tijela i s obzirom na grijeh, osudi grijeh u tijelu

That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

da se pravednost Zakona ispuni u nama koji ne živimo po tijelu nego po Duhu.

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Da, oni koji žive po tijelu, teže za onim što je tjelesno; a koji po Duhu, za onim što je Duhovo:

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

težnja je tijela smrt, a težnja Duha život i mir.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Jer težnja je tijela protivna Bogu: zakonu se Božjemu ne podvrgava, a i ne može.

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Oni pak koji su u tijelu, ne mogu se Bogu svidjeti.

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

A vi niste u tijelu, nego u Duhu, ako Duh Božji prebiva u vama. A nema li tko Duha Kristova, taj nije njegov.

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

I ako je Krist u vama, tijelo je doduše mrtvo zbog grijeha, ali Duh je život zbog pravednosti.

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Ako li Duh Onoga koji uskrisi Isusa od mrtvih prebiva u vama, Onaj koji uskrisi Krista od mrtvih oživit će i smrtna tijela vaša po Duhu svome koji prebiva u vama.

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

Dakle, braćo, dužnici smo, ali ne tijelu da po tijelu živimo!

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Jer ako po tijelu živite, umrijeti vam je, ako li pak Duhom usmrćujete tjelesna djela, živjet ćete.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Svi koje vodi Duh Božji sinovi su Božji.

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Ta ne primiste duh robovanja da se opet bojite, nego primiste Duha posinstva u kojem kličemo: "Abba! Oče!"

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Sam Duh susvjedok je s našim duhom da smo djeca Božja;

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

ako pak djeca, onda i baštinici, baštinici Božji, a subaštinici Kristovi, kada doista s njime zajedno trpimo, da se zajedno s njime i proslavimo.

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Smatram, uistinu: sve patnje sadašnjega vremena nisu ništa prema budućoj slavi koja se ima očitovati u nama.

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Doista, stvorenje sa svom žudnjom iščekuje ovo objavljenje sinova Božjih:

For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

stvorenje je uistinu podvrgnuto ispraznosti - ne po svojoj volji, nego zbog onoga koji ga podvrgnu - ali u nadi.

Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Jer i stvorenje će se osloboditi robovanja pokvarljivosti da sudjeluje u slobodi i slavi djece Božje.

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Jer znamo: sve stvorenje zajedno uzdiše i muči se u porođajnim bolima sve do sada.

And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

Ali ne samo ono! I mi koji imamo prvine Duha, i mi u sebi uzdišemo iščekujući posinstvo, otkupljenje svoga tijela.

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

Ta u nadi smo spašeni! Nada pak koja se vidi nije nada. Jer što tko gleda, kako da se tomu i nada?

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Nadamo li se pak onomu čega ne gledamo, postojano to iščekujemo.

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Tako i Duh potpomaže našu nemoć. Doista ne znamo što da molimo kako valja, ali se sam Duh za nas zauzima neizrecivim uzdasima.

And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

A Onaj koji proniče srca zna koja je želja Duha - da se on po Božju zauzima za svete.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Znamo pak da Bog u svemu na dobro surađuje s onima koji ga ljube, s onima koji su odlukom njegovom pozvani.

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Jer koje predvidje, te i predodredi da budu suobličeni slici Sina njegova te da on bude prvorođenac među mnogom braćom.

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Koje pak predodredi, te i pozva; koje pozva, te i opravda; koje opravda, te i proslavi.

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Što ćemo dakle na to reći? Ako je Bog za nas, tko će protiv nas?

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Ta on ni svojega Sina nije poštedio, nego ga je za sve nas predao! Kako nam onda s njime neće sve darovati?

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

Tko će optužiti izabranike Božje? Bog opravdava!

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Tko će osuditi? Krist Isus umrije, štoviše i uskrsnu, on je i zdesna Bogu - on se baš zauzima za nas!

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Tko će nas rastaviti od ljubavi Kristove? Nevolja? Tjeskoba? Progonstvo? Glad? Golotinja? Pogibao? Mač?

As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Kao što je pisano: Poradi tebe ubijaju nas dan za danom i mi smo im ko ovce za klanje.

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

U svemu tome nadmoćno pobjeđujemo po onome koji nas uzljubi.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Uvjeren sam doista: ni smrt ni život, ni anđeli ni vlasti, ni sadašnjost ni budućnost, ni sile,

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

ni dubina ni visina, ni ikoji drugi stvor neće nas moći rastaviti od ljubavi Božje u Kristu Isusu Gospodinu našem.
