Psalms 41

خوشا به حال کسانی‌که در اندیشهٔ فقرا هستند. خداوند آنان را هنگام سختی نجات خواهد داد،

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

خداوند آنها را حمایت نموده، زنده نگاه می‌دارد، آنها را در وطن خود خوشبخت می‌سازد و در دست دشمن رهایشان نمی‌کند.

The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

در هنگام بیماری خداوند آنها را کمک می‌کند و به آنها سلامتی می‌بخشد.

The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

گفتم: «خداوندا، من آدمی گناهکارم، امّا تو بر من رحمت فرما و مرا شفا بده.»

I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

دشمنانم با نفرت دربارهٔ من می‌گویند: «چه وقت می‌میرد و نامش فراموش می‌گردد؟»

Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?

آنانی که برای ملاقات من می‌آیند از روی دوستی نمی‌آیند، بلکه برای خبرچینی و شایعه‌پراکنی می‌آیند.

And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

همهٔ آنانی که از من نفرت دارند با یکدیگر دربارهٔ من پچ‌پچ می‌کنند و مرض مرا خطرناک جلوه می‌دهند.

All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.

آنها می‌گویند: «به مرضی کشنده گرفتار شده و از این بیماری جان سالم بدر نخواهد برد.»

An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

حتّی بهترین دوست من که به او اعتماد کامل داشتم، آن کس که با من نان می‌خورد، علیه من برخاسته ‌‌است.

Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

ولی خداوندا، تو بر من رحمت فرما و سلامتی مرا به من بازگردان، تا برخاسته، جواب دشمنانم را بدهم.

But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

به این وسیله من خواهم دانست که تو از من راضی هستی و نمی‌گذاری دشمنانم بر من پیروز گردند.

By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

تو، مرا به‌خاطر درستکاری‌ام کمک خواهی کرد و پیوسته مرا در پیشگاه خود حفظ خواهی نمود.

And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.

سپاس بر خداوند، خدای بنی‌اسرائیل، از ازل تا به ابد! آمین!

Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
