Job 11

پھر ضوفر نعماتی نے جواب دے کر کہا،

Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

”کیا اِن تمام باتوں کا جواب نہیں دینا چاہئے؟ کیا یہ آدمی اپنی خالی باتوں کی بنا پر ہی راست باز ٹھہرے گا؟

Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?

کیا تیری بےمعنی باتیں لوگوں کے منہ یوں بند کریں گی کہ تُو آزادی سے لعن طعن کرتا جائے اور کوئی تجھے شرمندہ نہ کر سکے؟

Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?

اللہ سے تُو کہتا ہے، ’میری تعلیم پاک ہے، اور تیری نظر میں مَیں پاک صاف ہوں۔‘

For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.

کاش اللہ خود تیرے ساتھ ہم کلام ہو، وہ اپنے ہونٹوں کو کھول کر تجھ سے بات کرے!

But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;

کاش وہ تیرے لئے حکمت کے بھید کھولے، کیونکہ وہ انسان کی سمجھ کے نزدیک معجزے سے ہیں۔ تب تُو جان لیتا کہ اللہ تیرے گناہ کا کافی حصہ درگزر کر رہا ہے۔

And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

کیا تُو اللہ کا راز کھول سکتا ہے؟ کیا تُو قادرِ مطلق کے کامل علم تک پہنچ سکتا ہے؟

Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

وہ تو آسمان سے بلند ہے، چنانچہ تُو کیا کر سکتا ہے؟ وہ پاتال سے گہرا ہے، چنانچہ تُو کیا جان سکتا ہے؟

It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?

اُس کی لمبائی زمین سے بڑی اور چوڑائی سمندر سے زیادہ ہے۔

The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

اگر وہ کہیں سے گزر کر کسی کو گرفتار کرے یا عدالت میں اُس کا حساب کرے تو کون اُسے روکے گا؟

If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?

کیونکہ وہ فریب دہ آدمیوں کو جان لیتا ہے، جب بھی اُسے بُرائی نظر آئے تو وہ اُس پر خوب دھیان دیتا ہے۔

For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?

عقل سے خالی آدمی کس طرح سمجھ پا سکتا ہے؟ یہ اُتنا ہی ناممکن ہے جتنا یہ کہ جنگلی گدھے سے انسان پیدا ہو۔

For vain man would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt.

اے ایوب، اپنا دل پورے دھیان سے اللہ کی طرف مائل کر اور اپنے ہاتھ اُس کی طرف اُٹھا!

If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;

اگر تیرے ہاتھ گناہ میں ملوث ہوں تو اُسے دُور کر اور اپنے خیمے میں بُرائی بسنے نہ دے!

If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

تب تُو بےالزام حالت میں اپنا چہرہ اُٹھا سکے گا، تُو مضبوطی سے کھڑا رہے گا اور ڈرے گا نہیں۔

For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:

تُو اپنا دُکھ درد بھول جائے گا، اور وہ صرف گزرے سیلاب کی طرح یاد رہے گا۔

Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:

تیری زندگی دوپہر کی طرح چمک دار، تیری تاریکی صبح کی مانند روشن ہو جائے گی۔

And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

چونکہ اُمید ہو گی اِس لئے تُو محفوظ ہو گا اور سلامتی سے لیٹ جائے گا۔

And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.

تُو آرام کرے گا، اور کوئی تجھے دہشت زدہ نہیں کرے گا بلکہ بہت لوگ تیری نظرِ عنایت حاصل کرنے کی کوشش کریں گے۔

Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.

لیکن بےدینوں کی آنکھیں ناکام ہو جائیں گی، اور وہ بچ نہیں سکیں گے۔ اُن کی اُمید مایوس کن ہو گی ۔“

But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.
