Acts 3

ایک دوپہر پطرس اور یوحنا دعا کرنے کے لئے بیت المُقدّس کی طرف چل پڑے۔ تین بج گئے تھے۔

Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

اُس وقت لوگ ایک پیدائشی لنگڑے کو اُٹھا کر وہاں لا رہے تھے۔ روزانہ اُسے صحن کے اُس دروازے کے پاس لایا جاتا تھا جو ’خوب صورت دروازہ‘ کہلاتا تھا تاکہ وہ بیت المُقدّس کے صحنوں میں داخل ہونے والوں سے بھیک مانگ سکے۔

And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

پطرس اور یوحنا بیت المُقدّس میں داخل ہونے والے تھے تو لنگڑا اُن سے بھیک مانگنے لگا۔

Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

پطرس اور یوحنا غور سے اُس کی طرف دیکھنے لگے۔ پھر پطرس نے کہا، ”ہماری طرف دیکھیں۔“

And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

اِس توقع سے کہ اُسے کچھ ملے گا لنگڑا اُن کی طرف متوجہ ہوا۔

And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

لیکن پطرس نے کہا، ”میرے پاس نہ تو چاندی ہے، نہ سونا، لیکن جو کچھ ہے وہ آپ کو دے دیتا ہوں۔ ناصرت کے عیسیٰ مسیح کے نام سے اُٹھیں اور چلیں پھریں!“

Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

اُس نے اُس کا دہنا ہاتھ پکڑ کر اُسے کھڑا کیا۔ اُسی وقت لنگڑے کے پاؤں اور ٹخنے مضبوط ہو گئے۔

And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength.

وہ اُچھل کر کھڑا ہوا اور چلنے پھرنے لگا۔ پھر وہ چلتے، کودتے اور اللہ کی تمجید کرتے ہوئے اُن کے ساتھ بیت المُقدّس میں داخل ہوا۔

And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

اور تمام لوگوں نے اُسے چلتے پھرتے اور اللہ کی تمجید کرتے ہوئے دیکھا۔

And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

جب اُنہوں نے جان لیا کہ یہ وہی آدمی ہے جو خوب صورت نامی دروازے پر بیٹھا بھیک مانگا کرتا تھا تو وہ اُس کی تبدیلی دیکھ کر دنگ رہ گئے۔

And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

وہ سب دوڑ کر سلیمان کے برآمدے میں آئے جہاں بھیک مانگنے والا اب تک پطرس اور یوحنا سے لپٹا ہوا تھا۔

And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.

یہ دیکھ کر پطرس اُن سے مخاطب ہوا، ”اسرائیل کے حضرات، آپ یہ دیکھ کر کیوں حیران ہیں؟ آپ کیوں گھور گھور کر ہماری طرف دیکھ رہے ہیں گویا ہم نے اپنی ذاتی طاقت یا دین داری کے باعث یہ کیا ہے کہ یہ آدمی چل پھر سکے؟

And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

یہ ہمارے باپ دادا کے خدا، ابراہیم، اسحاق اور یعقوب کے خدا کی طرف سے ہے جس نے اپنے بندے عیسیٰ کو جلال دیا ہے۔ یہ وہی عیسیٰ ہے جسے آپ نے دشمن کے حوالے کر کے پیلاطس کے سامنے رد کیا، اگرچہ وہ اُسے رِہا کرنے کا فیصلہ کر چکا تھا۔

The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

آپ نے اُس قدوس اور راست باز کو رد کر کے تقاضا کیا کہ پیلاطس اُس کے عوض ایک قاتل کو رِہا کر کے آپ کو دے دے۔

But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

آپ نے زندگی کے سردار کو قتل کیا، لیکن اللہ نے اُسے مُردوں میں سے زندہ کر دیا۔ ہم اِس بات کے گواہ ہیں۔

And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

آپ تو اِس آدمی سے واقف ہیں جسے دیکھ رہے ہیں۔ اب وہ عیسیٰ کے نام پر ایمان لانے سے بحال ہو گیا ہے، کیونکہ جو ایمان عیسیٰ کے ذریعے ملتا ہے اُسی نے اِس آدمی کو آپ کے سامنے پوری صحت مندی عطا کی۔

And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

میرے بھائیو، مَیں جانتا ہوں کہ آپ اور آپ کے راہنماؤں کو صحیح علم نہیں تھا، اِس لئے آپ نے ایسا کیا۔

And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.

لیکن اللہ نے وہ کچھ پورا کیا جس کی پیش گوئی اُس نے تمام نبیوں کی معرفت کی تھی، یعنی یہ کہ اُس کا مسیح دُکھ اُٹھائے گا۔

But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

اب توبہ کریں اور اللہ کی طرف رجوع لائیں تاکہ آپ کے گناہوں کو مٹایا جائے۔

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

پھر آپ کو رب کے حضور سے تازگی کے دن میسر آئیں گے اور وہ دوبارہ عیسیٰ یعنی مسیح کو بھیج دے گا جسے آپ کے لئے مقرر کیا گیا ہے۔

And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

لازم ہے کہ وہ اُس وقت تک آسمان پر رہے جب تک اللہ سب کچھ بحال نہ کر دے، جس طرح وہ ابتدا سے اپنے مُقدّس نبیوں کی زبانی فرماتا آیا ہے۔

Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

کیونکہ موسیٰ نے کہا، ’رب تمہارا خدا تمہارے واسطے تمہارے بھائیوں میں سے مجھ جیسے نبی کو برپا کرے گا۔ جو بھی بات وہ کہے اُس کی سننا۔

For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

جو نہیں سنے گا اُسے مٹا کر قوم سے نکال دیا جائے گا۔‘

And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

اور سموایل سے لے کر ہر نبی نے اِن دنوں کی پیش گوئی کی ہے۔

Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

آپ تو اِن نبیوں کی اولاد اور اُس عہد کے وارث ہیں جو اللہ نے آپ کے باپ دادا سے قائم کیا تھا، کیونکہ اُس نے ابراہیم سے کہا تھا، ’تیری اولاد سے دنیا کی تمام قومیں برکت پائیں گی۔‘

Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

جب اللہ نے اپنے بندے عیسیٰ کو برپا کیا تو پہلے اُسے آپ کے پاس بھیج دیا تاکہ وہ آپ میں سے ہر ایک کو اُس کی بُری راہوں سے پھیر کر برکت دے۔“

Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
