I Kings 8

پھر سلیمان نے اسرائیل کے تمام بزرگوں اور قبیلوں اور کنبوں کے تمام سرپرستوں کو اپنے پاس یروشلم میں بُلایا، کیونکہ رب کے عہد کا صندوق اب تک یروشلم کے اُس حصے میں تھا جو ’داؤد کا شہر‘ یا صیون کہلاتا ہے۔ سلیمان چاہتا تھا کہ قوم کے نمائندے حاضر ہوں جب صندوق کو وہاں سے رب کے گھر میں پہنچایا جائے۔

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

چنانچہ اسرائیل کے تمام مرد سال کے ساتویں مہینے اِتانیم میں سلیمان بادشاہ کے پاس یروشلم میں جمع ہوئے۔ اِسی مہینے میں جھونپڑیوں کی عید منائی جاتی تھی۔

And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

جب سب جمع ہوئے تو امام رب کے صندوق کو اُٹھا کر

And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

رب کے گھر میں لائے۔ لاویوں کے ساتھ مل کر اُنہوں نے ملاقات کے خیمے کو بھی اُس کے تمام مُقدّس سامان سمیت رب کے گھر میں پہنچایا۔

And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.

وہاں صندوق کے سامنے سلیمان بادشاہ اور باقی تمام جمع ہوئے اسرائیلیوں نے اِتنی بھیڑبکریاں اور گائےبَیل قربان کئے کہ اُن کی تعداد گنی نہیں جا سکتی تھی۔

And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

اماموں نے رب کے عہد کا صندوق پچھلے یعنی مُقدّس ترین کمرے میں لا کر کروبی فرشتوں کے پَروں کے نیچے رکھ دیا۔

And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.

فرشتوں کے پَر پورے صندوق پر اُس کی اُٹھانے کی لکڑیوں سمیت پھیلے رہے۔

For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

توبھی اُٹھانے کی یہ لکڑیاں اِتنی لمبی تھیں کہ اُن کے سرے سامنے والے یعنی مُقدّس کمرے سے نظر آتے تھے۔ لیکن وہ باہر سے دیکھے نہیں جا سکتے تھے۔ آج تک وہ وہیں موجود ہیں۔

And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.

صندوق میں صرف پتھر کی وہ دو تختیاں تھیں جن کو موسیٰ نے حورب یعنی کوہِ سینا کے دامن میں اُس میں رکھ دیا تھا، اُس وقت جب رب نے مصر سے نکلے ہوئے اسرائیلیوں کے ساتھ عہد باندھا تھا۔

There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

جب امام مُقدّس کمرے سے نکل کر صحن میں آئے تو رب کا گھر ایک بادل سے بھر گیا۔ امام اپنی خدمت انجام نہ دے سکے، کیونکہ رب کا گھر اُس کے جلال کے بادل سے معمور ہو گیا تھا۔

And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,

جب امام مُقدّس کمرے سے نکل کر صحن میں آئے تو رب کا گھر ایک بادل سے بھر گیا۔ امام اپنی خدمت انجام نہ دے سکے، کیونکہ رب کا گھر اُس کے جلال کے بادل سے معمور ہو گیا تھا۔

So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

یہ دیکھ کر سلیمان نے دعا کی، ”رب نے فرمایا ہے کہ مَیں گھنے بادل کے اندھیرے میں رہوں گا۔

Then spake Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

یقیناً مَیں نے تیرے لئے عظیم سکونت گاہ بنائی ہے، ایک مقام جو تیری ابدی سکونت کے لائق ہے۔“

I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.

پھر بادشاہ نے مُڑ کر رب کے گھر کے سامنے کھڑی اسرائیل کی پوری جماعت کی طرف رُخ کیا۔ اُس نے اُنہیں برکت دے کر کہا،

And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;)

”رب اسرائیل کے خدا کی تعریف ہو جس نے وہ وعدہ پورا کیا ہے جو اُس نے میرے باپ داؤد سے کیا تھا۔ کیونکہ اُس نے فرمایا،

And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

’جس دن مَیں اپنی قوم اسرائیل کو مصر سے نکال لایا اُس دن سے لے کر آج تک مَیں نے کبھی نہ فرمایا کہ اسرائیلی قبیلوں کے کسی شہر میں میرے نام کی تعظیم میں گھر بنایا جائے۔ لیکن مَیں نے داؤد کو اپنی قوم اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنایا ہے۔‘

Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

میرے باپ داؤد کی بڑی خواہش تھی کہ رب اسرائیل کے خدا کے نام کی تعظیم میں گھر بنائے۔

And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

لیکن رب نے اعتراض کیا، ’مَیں خوش ہوں کہ تُو میرے نام کی تعظیم میں گھر تعمیر کرنا چاہتا ہے،

And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.

لیکن تُو نہیں بلکہ تیرا بیٹا ہی اُسے بنائے گا۔‘

Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.

اور واقعی، رب نے اپنا وعدہ پورا کیا ہے۔ مَیں رب کے وعدے کے عین مطابق اپنے باپ داؤد کی جگہ اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بن کر تخت پر بیٹھ گیا ہوں۔ اور اب مَیں نے رب اسرائیل کے خدا کے نام کی تعظیم میں گھر بھی بنایا ہے۔

And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

اُس میں مَیں نے اُس صندوق کے لئے مقام تیار کر رکھا ہے جس میں شریعت کی تختیاں پڑی ہیں، اُس عہد کی تختیاں جو رب نے ہمارے باپ دادا سے مصر سے نکالتے وقت باندھا تھا۔“

And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

پھر سلیمان اسرائیل کی پوری جماعت کے دیکھتے دیکھتے رب کی قربان گاہ کے سامنے کھڑا ہوا۔ اُس نے اپنے ہاتھ آسمان کی طرف اُٹھا کر

And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

دعا کی، ”اے رب اسرائیل کے خدا، تجھ جیسا کوئی خدا نہیں ہے، نہ آسمان اور نہ زمین پر۔ تُو اپنا وہ عہد قائم رکھتا ہے جسے تُو نے اپنی قوم کے ساتھ باندھا ہے اور اپنی مہربانی اُن سب پر ظاہر کرتا ہے جو پورے دل سے تیری راہ پر چلتے ہیں۔

And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

تُو نے اپنے خادم داؤد سے کیا ہوا وعدہ پورا کیا ہے۔ جو بات تُو نے اپنے منہ سے میرے باپ سے کی وہ تُو نے اپنے ہاتھ سے آج ہی پوری کی ہے۔

Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

اے رب اسرائیل کے خدا، اب اپنی دوسری بات بھی پوری کر جو تُو نے اپنے خادم داؤد سے کی تھی۔ کیونکہ تُو نے میرے باپ سے وعدہ کیا تھا، ’اگر تیری اولاد تیری طرح اپنے چال چلن پر دھیان دے کر میرے حضور چلتی رہے تو اسرائیل پر اُس کی حکومت ہمیشہ تک قائم رہے گی۔‘

Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.

اے اسرائیل کے خدا، اب براہِ کرم اپنا یہ وعدہ پورا کر جو تُو نے اپنے خادم میرے باپ داؤد سے کیا ہے۔

And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.

لیکن کیا اللہ واقعی زمین پر سکونت کرے گا؟ نہیں، تُو تو بلندترین آسمان میں بھی سما نہیں سکتا! تو پھر یہ مکان جو مَیں نے بنایا ہے کس طرح تیری سکونت گاہ بن سکتا ہے؟

But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

اے رب میرے خدا، توبھی اپنے خادم کی دعا اور التجا سن جب مَیں آج تیرے حضور پکارتے ہوئے التماس کرتا ہوں

Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:

کہ براہِ کرم دن رات اِس عمارت کی نگرانی کر! کیونکہ یہ وہ جگہ ہے جس کے بارے میں تُو نے خود فرمایا، ’یہاں میرا نام سکونت کرے گا۔‘ چنانچہ اپنے خادم کی گزارش سن جو مَیں اِس مقام کی طرف رُخ کئے ہوئے کرتا ہوں۔

That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.

جب ہم اِس مقام کی طرف رُخ کر کے دعا کریں تو اپنے خادم اور اپنی قوم کی التجا سن۔ آسمان پر اپنے تخت سے ہماری سن۔ اور جب سنے گا تو ہمارے گناہوں کو معاف کر!

And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.

اگر کسی پر الزام لگایا جائے اور اُسے یہاں تیری قربان گاہ کے سامنے لایا جائے تاکہ حلف اُٹھا کر وعدہ کرے کہ مَیں بےقصور ہوں

If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house:

تو براہِ کرم آسمان پر سے سن کر اپنے خادموں کا انصاف کر۔ قصوروار کو مجرم ٹھہرا کر اُس کے اپنے سر پر وہ کچھ آنے دے جو اُس سے سرزد ہوا ہے، اور بےقصور کو بےالزام قرار دے کر اُس کی راست بازی کا بدلہ دے۔

Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

ہو سکتا ہے کسی وقت تیری قوم اسرائیل تیرا گناہ کرے اور نتیجے میں دشمن کے سامنے شکست کھائے۔ اگر اسرائیلی آخرکار تیرے پاس لوٹ آئیں اور تیرے نام کی تمجید کر کے یہاں اِس گھر میں تجھ سے دعا اور التماس کریں

When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house:

تو آسمان پر سے اُن کی فریاد سن لینا۔ اپنی قوم اسرائیل کا گناہ معاف کر کے اُنہیں دوبارہ اُس ملک میں واپس لانا جو تُو نے اُن کے باپ دادا کو دے دیا تھا۔

Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.

ہو سکتا ہے اسرائیلی تیرا اِتنا سنگین گناہ کریں کہ کال پڑے اور بڑی دیر تک بارش نہ برسے۔ اگر وہ آخرکار اِس گھر کی طرف رُخ کر کے تیرے نام کی تمجید کریں اور تیری سزا کے باعث اپنا گناہ چھوڑ کر لوٹ آئیں

When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:

تو آسمان پر سے اُن کی فریاد سن لینا۔ اپنے خادموں اور اپنی قوم اسرائیل کو معاف کر، کیونکہ تُو ہی اُنہیں اچھی راہ کی تعلیم دیتا ہے۔ تب اُس ملک پر دوبارہ بارش برسا دے جو تُو نے اپنی قوم کو میراث میں دے دیا ہے۔

Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.

ہو سکتا ہے اسرائیل میں کال پڑ جائے، اناج کی فصل کسی بیماری، پھپھوندی، ٹڈیوں یا کیڑوں سے متاثر ہو جائے، یا دشمن کسی شہر کا محاصرہ کرے۔ جو بھی مصیبت یا بیماری ہو،

If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpiller; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;

اگر کوئی اسرائیلی یا تیری پوری قوم اُس کا سبب جان کر اپنے ہاتھوں کو اِس گھر کی طرف بڑھائے اور تجھ سے التماس کرے

What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

تو آسمان پر اپنے تخت سے اُن کی فریاد سن لینا۔ اُنہیں معاف کر کے وہ کچھ کر جو ضروری ہے۔ ہر ایک کو اُس کی تمام حرکتوں کا بدلہ دے، کیونکہ صرف تُو ہی ہر انسان کے دل کو جانتا ہے۔

Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)

پھر جتنی دیر وہ اُس ملک میں زندگی گزاریں گے جو تُو نے ہمارے باپ دادا کو دیا تھا اُتنی دیر وہ تیرا خوف مانیں گے۔

That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.

آئندہ پردیسی بھی تیرے نام کے سبب سے دُوردراز ممالک سے آئیں گے۔ اگرچہ وہ تیری قوم اسرائیل کے نہیں ہوں گے

Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name's sake;

توبھی وہ تیرے عظیم نام، تیری بڑی قدرت اور تیرے زبردست کاموں کے بارے میں سن کر آئیں گے اور اِس گھر کی طرف رُخ کر کے دعا کریں گے۔

(For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;

تب آسمان پر سے اُن کی فریاد سن لینا۔ جو بھی درخواست وہ پیش کریں وہ پوری کرنا تاکہ دنیا کی تمام اقوام تیرا نام جان کر تیری قوم اسرائیل کی طرح ہی تیرا خوف مانیں اور جان لیں کہ جو عمارت مَیں نے تعمیر کی ہے اُس پر تیرے ہی نام کا ٹھپا لگا ہے۔

Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.

ہو سکتا ہے تیری قوم کے مرد تیری ہدایت کے مطابق اپنے دشمن سے لڑنے کے لئے نکلیں۔ اگر وہ تیرے چنے ہوئے شہر اور اُس عمارت کی طرف رُخ کر کے دعا کریں جو مَیں نے تیرے نام کے لئے تعمیر کی ہے

If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name:

تو آسمان پر سے اُن کی دعا اور التماس سن کر اُن کے حق میں انصاف قائم رکھنا۔

Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

ہو سکتا ہے وہ تیرا گناہ کریں، ایسی حرکتیں تو ہم سب سے سرزد ہوتی رہتی ہیں، اور نتیجے میں تُو ناراض ہو کر اُنہیں دشمن کے حوالے کر دے جو اُنہیں قید کر کے اپنے کسی دُوردراز یا قریبی ملک میں لے جائے۔

If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

شاید وہ جلاوطنی میں توبہ کر کے دوبارہ تیری طرف رجوع کریں اور تجھ سے التماس کریں، ’ہم نے گناہ کیا ہے، ہم سے غلطی ہوئی ہے، ہم نے بےدین حرکتیں کی ہیں۔‘

Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

اگر وہ ایسا کر کے دشمن کے ملک میں اپنے پورے دل و جان سے دوبارہ تیری طرف رجوع کریں اور تیری طرف سے باپ دادا کو دیئے گئے ملک، تیرے چنے ہوئے شہر اور اُس عمارت کی طرف رُخ کر کے دعا کریں جو مَیں نے تیرے نام کے لئے تعمیر کی ہے

And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

تو آسمان پر اپنے تخت سے اُن کی دعا اور التماس سن لینا۔ اُن کے حق میں انصاف قائم کرنا،

Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,

اور اپنی قوم کے گناہوں کو معاف کر دینا۔ جس بھی جرم سے اُنہوں نے تیرا گناہ کیا ہے وہ معاف کر دینا۔ بخش دے کہ اُنہیں گرفتار کرنے والے اُن پر رحم کریں۔

And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

کیونکہ یہ تیری ہی قوم کے افراد ہیں، تیری ہی میراث جسے تُو مصر کے بھڑکتے بھٹے سے نکال لایا۔

For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:

اے اللہ، تیری آنکھیں میری التجاؤں اور تیری قوم اسرائیل کی فریادوں کے لئے کھلی رہیں۔ جب بھی وہ مدد کے لئے تجھے پکاریں تو اُن کی سن لینا!

That thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they call for unto thee.

کیونکہ تُو، اے رب قادرِ مطلق نے اسرائیل کو دنیا کی تمام قوموں سے الگ کر کے اپنی خاص ملکیت بنا لیا ہے۔ ہمارے باپ دادا کو مصر سے نکالتے وقت تُو نے موسیٰ کی معرفت اِس حقیقت کا اعلان کیا۔“

For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD.

اِس دعا کے بعد سلیمان کھڑا ہوا، کیونکہ دعا کے دوران اُس نے رب کی قربان گاہ کے سامنے اپنے گھٹنے ٹیکے اور اپنے ہاتھ آسمان کی طرف اُٹھائے ہوئے تھے۔

And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

اب وہ اسرائیل کی پوری جماعت کے سامنے کھڑا ہوا اور بلند آواز سے اُسے برکت دی،

And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

”رب کی تمجید ہو جس نے اپنے وعدے کے عین مطابق اپنی قوم اسرائیل کو آرام و سکون فراہم کیا ہے۔ جتنے بھی خوب صورت وعدے اُس نے اپنے خادم موسیٰ کی معرفت کئے ہیں وہ سب کے سب پورے ہو گئے ہیں۔

Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

جس طرح رب ہمارا خدا ہمارے باپ دادا کے ساتھ تھا اُسی طرح وہ ہمارے ساتھ بھی رہے۔ نہ وہ ہمیں چھوڑے، نہ ترک کرے

The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

بلکہ ہمارے دلوں کو اپنی طرف مائل کرے تاکہ ہم اُس کی تمام راہوں پر چلیں اور اُن تمام احکام اور ہدایات کے تابع رہیں جو اُس نے ہمارے باپ دادا کو دی ہیں۔

That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.

رب کے حضور میری یہ فریاد دن رات رب ہمارے خدا کے قریب رہے تاکہ وہ میرا اور اپنی قوم کا انصاف قائم رکھے اور ہماری روزانہ ضروریات پوری کرے۔

And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the LORD, be nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:

تب تمام اقوام جان لیں گی کہ رب ہی خدا ہے اور کہ اُس کے سوا کوئی اَور معبود نہیں ہے۔

That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.

لیکن لازم ہے کہ آپ رب ہمارے خدا کے پورے دل سے وفادار رہیں۔ ہمیشہ اُس کی ہدایات اور احکام کے مطابق زندگی گزاریں، بالکل اُسی طرح جس طرح آپ آج کر رہے ہیں۔“

Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

پھر بادشاہ اور تمام اسرائیل نے رب کے حضور قربانیاں پیش کر کے رب کے گھر کو مخصوص کیا۔ اِس سلسلے میں سلیمان نے 22,000 گائےبَیلوں اور 1,20,000 بھیڑبکریوں کو سلامتی کی قربانیوں کے طور پر ذبح کیا۔

And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD.

پھر بادشاہ اور تمام اسرائیل نے رب کے حضور قربانیاں پیش کر کے رب کے گھر کو مخصوص کیا۔ اِس سلسلے میں سلیمان نے 22,000 گائےبَیلوں اور 1,20,000 بھیڑبکریوں کو سلامتی کی قربانیوں کے طور پر ذبح کیا۔

And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

اُسی دن بادشاہ نے صحن کا درمیانی حصہ قربانیاں چڑھانے کے لئے مخصوص کیا۔ وجہ یہ تھی کہ پیتل کی قربان گاہ اِتنی قربانیاں پیش کرنے کے لئے چھوٹی تھی، کیونکہ بھسم ہونے والی قربانیوں اور غلہ کی نذروں کی تعداد بہت زیادہ تھی۔ اِس کے علاوہ سلامتی کی بےشمار قربانیوں کی چربی کو بھی جلانا تھا۔

The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen altar that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.

عید 14 دن تک منائی گئی۔ پہلے ہفتے میں سلیمان اور تمام اسرائیل نے رب کے گھر کی مخصوصیت منائی اور دوسرے ہفتے میں جھونپڑیوں کی عید۔ بہت زیادہ لوگ شریک ہوئے۔ وہ دُوردراز علاقوں سے یروشلم آئے تھے، شمال میں لبو حمات سے لے کر جنوب میں اُس وادی تک جو مصر کی سرحد تھی۔

And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

دو ہفتوں کے بعد سلیمان نے اسرائیلیوں کو رُخصت کیا۔ بادشاہ کو برکت دے کر وہ اپنے اپنے گھر چلے گئے۔ سب شادمان اور دل سے خوش تھے کہ رب نے اپنے خادم داؤد اور اپنی قوم اسرائیل پر اِتنی مہربانی کی ہے۔

On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.
