Mark 7

Foram ter com Jesus os fariseus, e alguns dos escribas vindos de Jerusalém,

Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.

e repararam que alguns dos seus discípulos comiam pão com as mãos impuras, isto é, por lavar.

And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.

Pois os fariseus, e todos os judeus, guardando a tradição dos anciãos, não comem sem lavar as mãos cuidadosamente;

For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.

e quando voltam do mercado, se não se purificarem, não comem. E muitas outras coisas há que receberam para observar, como a lavagem de copos, de jarros, de vasos de bronze e de camas.

And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.

Perguntaram-lhe, pois, os fariseus e os escribas: Por que não andam os teus discípulos conforme a tradição dos anciãos, mas comem pão com as mãos por lavar?

Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?

Respondeu-lhes: Bem profetizou Isaías acerca de vós, hipócritas, como está escrito: Este povo honra-me com os lábios; o seu coração, porém, está longe de mim;

He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

mas em vão me adoram, ensinando como doutrinas os mandamentos de homens.

Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Deixando de lado o mandamento de Deus, vos apegais à tradição dos homens, como o lavar dos jarros e dos copos; e fazeis muitas outras coisas semelhantes a estas.

For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

Disse-lhes ainda: Jeitosamente rejeitais o mandamento de Deus, para guardardes a vossa própria tradição.

And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Pois Moisés disse: Honra a teu pai e a tua mãe; e: Quem maldisser ao pai ou à mãe, seja morto.

For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

Mas vós dizeis: Se um homem disser a seu pai ou a sua mãe: Aquilo que poderias aproveitar de mim é Corbã, isto é, oferta ao Senhor,

But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.

não mais lhe permitis fazer coisa alguma por seu pai ou por sua mãe,

And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;

invalidando assim a palavra de Deus pela vossa tradição, que vós transmitistes; também muitas outras coisas semelhantes fazeis.

Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

E chamando a si outra vez a multidão, disse-lhes: Ouvi-me vós todos, e entendei.

And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:

Nada há fora do homem que, entrando nele, possa contaminá-lo; mas o que sai do homem, isso é que o contamina.

There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

Se alguém tem ouvidos para ouvir, ouça.

If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

Depois, quando deixou a multidão e entrou em casa, os seus discípulos o interrogaram acerca da parábola.

And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.

Respondeu-lhes ele: Assim também vós estais sem entender? Não compreendeis que tudo o que, de fora, entra no homem, não o pode contaminar,

And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;

porque não lhe entra no coração, mas no ventre, e é lançado fora, purificando todos os alimentos?

Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

E prosseguiu: O que sai do homem, isso é que o contamina.

And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

Pois é do interior, do coração dos homens, que procedem os maus pensamentos, os adultérios, as fornicações, os homicídios,

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

os furtos, a cobiça, a impiedade, o engano, a devassidão, a inveja, a blasfêmia, o orgulho, a insensatez.

Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

Todos estes males procedem de dentro e contaminam o homem.

All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Levantando-se dali, foi para as regiões de Tiro e Sidom. E entrando numa casa, não queria que ninguém o soubesse, mas não pôde ocultar-se;

And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.

porque logo, certa mulher, cuja filha estava possessa de um espírito imundo, ouvindo falar dele, veio e prostrou-se-lhe aos pés;

For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

(ora, a mulher era grega, de origem siro-fenícia) e rogava-lhe que expulsasse de sua filha o demônio.

The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Deixa que primeiro se fartem os filhos; porque não é bom tomar o pão dos filhos e lançá-lo aos cachorrinhos.

But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

Ela, porém, replicou, e disse-lhe: Sim, Senhor; mas também os cachorrinhos, debaixo da mesa, comem das migalhas das crianças.

And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.

Então ele lhe disse: Por essa palavra, vai; o demônio já saiu de tua filha.

And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.

E, voltando ela para casa, encontrou a menina deitada sobre a cama, e que o demônio já havia saído.

And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.

Tendo Jesus partido das regiões de Tiro, foi por Sidom até o mar da Galileia, passando pelas regiões de Decápolis.

And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.

E trouxeram-lhe um surdo e gago; e rogaram-lhe que impusesse a mão sobre ele.

And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.

Jesus, pois, tirou-o de entre a multidão, à parte, meteu-lhe os dedos nos ouvidos e, cuspindo, tocou-lhe na língua;

And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;

e erguendo os olhos ao céu, suspirou e disse-lhe: Efatá; isto é, Abre-te.

And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

E imediatamente abriram-se-lhe os ouvidos, a prisão da língua se desfez, e falava perfeitamente.

And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.

Então lhes ordenou Jesus que a ninguém o dissessem; mas, quanto mais lho proibia, tanto mais o divulgavam.

And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;

E maravilhavam-se sobremaneira, dizendo: Tudo ele tem feito bem; faz tanto os surdos ouvir como os mudos falar.

And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
