Psalms 48

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

گیت۔ قورح کی اولاد کا زبور۔ رب عظیم اور بڑی تعریف کے لائق ہے۔ اُس کا مُقدّس پہاڑ ہمارے خدا کے شہر میں ہے۔

Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

کوہِ صیون کی بلندی خوب صورت ہے، پوری دنیا اُس سے خوش ہوتی ہے۔ کوہِ صیون دُورترین شمال کا الٰہی پہاڑ ہی ہے، وہ عظیم بادشاہ کا شہر ہے۔

God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

اللہ اُس کے محلوں میں ہے، وہ اُس کی پناہ گاہ ثابت ہوا ہے۔

For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

کیونکہ دیکھو، بادشاہ جمع ہو کر یروشلم سے لڑنے آئے۔

They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.

لیکن اُسے دیکھتے ہی وہ حیران ہوئے، وہ دہشت کھا کر بھاگ گئے۔

Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

وہاں اُن پر کپکپی طاری ہوئی، اور وہ دردِ زہ میں مبتلا عورت کی طرح پیچ و تاب کھانے لگے۔

Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

جس طرح مشرقی آندھی ترسیس کے شاندار جہازوں کو ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر دیتی ہے اُسی طرح تُو نے اُنہیں تباہ کر دیا۔

As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

جو کچھ ہم نے سنا ہے وہ ہمارے دیکھتے دیکھتے رب الافواج ہمارے خدا کے شہر پر صادق آیا ہے، اللہ اُسے ابد تک قائم رکھے گا۔ (سِلاہ)

We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

اے اللہ، ہم نے تیری سکونت گاہ میں تیری شفقت پر غور و خوض کیا ہے۔

According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

اے اللہ، تیرا نام اِس لائق ہے کہ تیری تعریف دنیا کی انتہا تک کی جائے۔ تیرا دہنا ہاتھ راستی سے بھرا رہتا ہے۔

Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

کوہِ صیون شادمان ہو، یہوداہ کی بیٹیاں تیرے منصفانہ فیصلوں کے باعث خوشی منائیں۔

Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

صیون کے ارد گرد گھومو پھرو، اُس کی فصیل کے ساتھ ساتھ چل کر اُس کے بُرج گن لو۔

Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.

اُس کی قلعہ بندی پر خوب دھیان دو، اُس کے محلوں کا معائنہ کرو تاکہ آنے والی نسل کو سب کچھ سنا سکو۔

For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

یقیناً اللہ ہمارا خدا ہمیشہ تک ایسا ہی ہے۔ وہ ابد تک ہماری راہنمائی کرے گا۔
