Psalms 31

In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

داؤد کا زبور۔ موسیقی کے راہنما کے لئے۔ اے رب، مَیں نے تجھ میں پناہ لی ہے۔ مجھے کبھی شرمندہ نہ ہونے دے بلکہ اپنی راستی کے مطابق مجھے بچا!

Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.

اپنا کان میری طرف جھکا، جلد ہی مجھے چھٹکارا دے۔ چٹان کا میرا بُرج ہو، پہاڑ کا قلعہ جس میں مَیں پناہ لے کر نجات پا سکوں۔

For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.

کیونکہ تُو میری چٹان، میرا قلعہ ہے، اپنے نام کی خاطر میری راہنمائی، میری قیادت کر۔

Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.

مجھے اُس جال سے نکال دے جو مجھے پکڑنے کے لئے چپکے سے بچھایا گیا ہے۔ کیونکہ تُو ہی میری پناہ گاہ ہے۔

Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

مَیں اپنی روح تیرے ہاتھوں میں سونپتا ہوں۔ اے رب، اے وفادار خدا، تُو نے فدیہ دے کر مجھے چھڑایا ہے!

I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.

مَیں اُن سے نفرت رکھتا ہوں جو بےکار بُتوں سے لپٹے رہتے ہیں۔ مَیں تو رب پر بھروسا رکھتا ہوں۔

I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;

مَیں باغ باغ ہوں گا اور تیری شفقت کی خوشی مناؤں گا، کیونکہ تُو نے میری مصیبت دیکھ کر میری جان کی پریشانی کا خیال کیا ہے۔

And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.

تُو نے مجھے دشمن کے حوالے نہیں کیا بلکہ میرے پاؤں کو کھلے میدان میں قائم کر دیا ہے۔

Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

اے رب، مجھ پر مہربانی کر، کیونکہ مَیں مصیبت میں ہوں۔ غم کے مارے میری آنکھیں سوج گئی ہیں، میری جان اور جسم گل رہے ہیں۔

For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

میری زندگی دُکھ کی چکّی میں پِس رہی ہے، میرے سال آہیں بھرتے بھرتے ضائع ہو رہے ہیں۔ میرے قصور کی وجہ سے میری طاقت جواب دے گئی، میری ہڈیاں گلنے سڑنے لگی ہیں۔

I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.

مَیں اپنے دشمنوں کے لئے مذاق کا نشانہ بن گیا ہوں بلکہ میرے ہم سائے بھی مجھے لعن طعن کرتے، میرے جاننے والے مجھ سے دہشت کھاتے ہیں۔ گلی میں جو بھی مجھے دیکھے مجھ سے بھاگ جاتا ہے۔

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

مَیں مُردوں کی مانند اُن کی یادداشت سے مٹ گیا ہوں، مجھے ٹھیکرے کی طرح پھینک دیا گیا ہے۔

For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

بہتوں کی افواہیں مجھ تک پہنچ گئی ہیں، چاروں طرف سے ہول ناک خبریں مل رہی ہیں۔ وہ مل کر میرے خلاف سازشیں کر رہے، مجھے قتل کرنے کے منصوبے باندھ رہے ہیں۔

But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God.

لیکن مَیں اے رب، تجھ پر بھروسا رکھتا ہوں۔ مَیں کہتا ہوں، ”تُو میرا خدا ہے!“

My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

میری تقدیر تیرے ہاتھ میں ہے۔ مجھے میرے دشمنوں کے ہاتھ سے بچا، اُن سے جو میرے پیچھے پڑ گئے ہیں۔

Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.

اپنے چہرے کا نور اپنے خادم پر چمکا، اپنی مہربانی سے مجھے نجات دے۔

Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.

اے رب، مجھے شرمندہ نہ ہونے دے، کیونکہ مَیں نے تجھے پکارا ہے۔ میرے بجائے بےدینوں کے منہ کالے ہو جائیں، وہ پاتال میں اُتر کر چپ ہو جائیں۔

Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

اُن کے فریب دہ ہونٹ بند ہو جائیں، کیونکہ وہ تکبر اور حقارت سے راست باز کے خلاف کفر بکتے ہیں۔

Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

تیری بھلائی کتنی عظیم ہے! تُو اُسے اُن کے لئے تیار رکھتا ہے جو تیرا خوف مانتے ہیں، اُسے اُنہیں دکھاتا ہے جو انسانوں کے سامنے سے تجھ میں پناہ لیتے ہیں۔

Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

تُو اُنہیں اپنے چہرے کی آڑ میں لوگوں کے حملوں سے چھپا لیتا، اُنہیں خیمے میں لا کر الزام تراش زبانوں سے محفوظ رکھتا ہے۔

Blessed be the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.

رب کی تمجید ہو، کیونکہ جب شہر کا محاصرہ ہو رہا تھا تو اُس نے معجزانہ طور پر مجھ پر مہربانی کی۔

For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.

اُس وقت مَیں گھبرا کر بولا، ”ہائے، مَیں تیرے حضور سے منقطع ہو گیا ہوں!“ لیکن جب مَیں نے چیختے چلّاتے ہوئے تجھ سے مدد مانگی تو تُو نے میری التجا سن لی۔

O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

اے رب کے تمام ایمان دارو، اُس سے محبت رکھو! رب وفاداروں کو محفوظ رکھتا، لیکن مغروروں کو اُن کے رویے کا پورا اجر دے گا۔

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

چنانچہ مضبوط اور دلیر ہو، تم سب جو رب کے انتظار میں ہو۔
