Psalms 10

Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

اے رب، تُو اِتنا دُور کیوں کھڑا ہے؟ مصیبت کے وقت تُو اپنے آپ کو پوشیدہ کیوں رکھتا ہے؟

The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

بےدین تکبر سے مصیبت زدوں کے پیچھے لگ گئے ہیں، اور اب بےچارے اُن کے جالوں میں اُلجھنے لگے ہیں۔

For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.

کیونکہ بےدین اپنی دلی آرزوؤں پر شیخی مارتا ہے، اور ناجائز نفع کمانے والا لعنت کر کے رب کو حقیر جانتا ہے۔

The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

بےدین غرور سے پھول کر کہتا ہے، ”اللہ مجھ سے جواب طلبی نہیں کرے گا۔“ اُس کے تمام خیالات اِس بات پر مبنی ہیں کہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے۔

His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

جو کچھ بھی کرے اُس میں وہ کامیاب ہے۔ تیری عدالتیں اُسے بلندیوں میں کہیں دُور لگتی ہیں جبکہ وہ اپنے تمام مخالفوں کے خلاف پھنکارتا ہے۔

He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

دل میں وہ سوچتا ہے، ”مَیں کبھی نہیں ڈگمگاؤں گا، نسل در نسل مصیبت کے پنجوں سے بچا رہوں گا۔“

His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

اُس کا منہ لعنتوں، فریب اور ظلم سے بھرا رہتا، اُس کی زبان نقصان اور آفت پہنچانے کے لئے تیار رہتی ہے۔

He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.

وہ آبادیوں کے قریب تاک میں بیٹھ کر چپکے سے بےگناہوں کو مار ڈالتا ہے، اُس کی آنکھیں بدقسمتوں کی گھات میں رہتی ہیں۔

He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.

جنگل میں بیٹھے شیرببر کی طرح تاک میں رہ کر وہ مصیبت زدہ پر حملہ کرنے کا موقع ڈھونڈتا ہے۔ جب اُسے پکڑ لے تو اُسے اپنے جال میں گھسیٹ کر لے جاتا ہے۔

He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.

اُس کے شکار پاش پاش ہو کر جھک جاتے ہیں، بےچارے اُس کی زبردست طاقت کی زد میں آ کر گر جاتے ہیں۔

He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

تب وہ دل میں کہتا ہے، ”اللہ بھول گیا ہے، اُس نے اپنا چہرہ چھپا لیا ہے، اُسے یہ کبھی نظر نہیں آئے گا۔“

Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

اے رب، اُٹھ! اے اللہ، اپنا ہاتھ اُٹھا کر ناچاروں کی مدد کر اور اُنہیں نہ بھول۔

Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.

بےدین اللہ کی تحقیر کیوں کرے، وہ دل میں کیوں کہے، ”اللہ مجھ سے جواب طلب نہیں کرے گا“؟

Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

اے اللہ، حقیقت میں تُو یہ سب کچھ دیکھتا ہے۔ تُو ہماری تکلیف اور پریشانی پر دھیان دے کر مناسب جواب دے گا۔ ناچار اپنا معاملہ تجھ پر چھوڑ دیتا ہے، کیونکہ تُو یتیموں کا مددگار ہے۔

Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

شریر اور بےدین آدمی کا بازو توڑ دے! اُس سے اُس کی شرارتوں کی جواب طلبی کر تاکہ اُس کا پورا اثر مٹ جائے۔

The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

رب ابد تک بادشاہ ہے۔ اُس کے ملک سے دیگر اقوام غائب ہو گئی ہیں۔

LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

اے رب، تُو نے ناچاروں کی آرزو سن لی ہے۔ تُو اُن کے دلوں کو مضبوط کرے گا اور اُن پر دھیان دے کر

To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

یتیموں اور مظلوموں کا انصاف کرے گا تاکہ آئندہ کوئی بھی انسان ملک میں دہشت نہ پھیلائے۔
