Judges 5

Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,

فتح کے دن دبورہ نے برق بن ابی نوعم کے ساتھ یہ گیت گایا،

Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.

”اللہ کی ستائش ہو! کیونکہ اسرائیل کے سرداروں نے راہنمائی کی، اور عوام نکلنے کے لئے تیار ہوئے۔

Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel.

اے بادشاہو، سنو! اے حکمرانو، میری بات پر توجہ دو! مَیں رب کی تمجید میں گیت گاؤں گی، رب اسرائیل کے خدا کی مدح سرائی کروں گی۔

LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.

اے رب، جب تُو سعیر سے نکل آیا اور ادوم کے کھلے میدان سے روانہ ہوا تو زمین کانپ اُٹھی اور آسمان سے پانی ٹپکنے لگا، بادلوں سے بارش برسنے لگی۔

The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel.

کوہِ سینا کے رب کے حضور پہاڑ ہلنے لگے، رب اسرائیل کے خدا کے سامنے وہ کپکپانے لگے۔

In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways.

شمجر بن عنات اور یاعیل کے دنوں میں سفر کے پکے اور سیدھے راستے خالی رہے اور مسافر اُن سے ہٹ کر بل کھاتے ہوئے چھوٹے چھوٹے راستوں پر چل کر اپنی منزل تک پہنچتے تھے۔

The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.

دیہات کی زندگی سُونی ہو گئی۔ گاؤں میں رہنا مشکل تھا جب تک مَیں، دبورہ جو اسرائیل کی ماں ہوں کھڑی نہ ہوئی۔

They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?

شہر کے دروازوں پر جنگ چھڑ گئی جب اُنہوں نے نئے معبودوں کو چن لیا۔ اُس وقت اسرائیل کے 40,000 مردوں کے پاس ایک بھی ڈھال یا نیزہ نہ تھا۔

My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the LORD.

میرا دل اسرائیل کے سرداروں کے ساتھ ہے اور اُن کے ساتھ جو خوشی سے جنگ کے لئے نکلے۔ رب کی ستائش کرو!

Speak, ye that ride on white asses, ye that sit in judgment, and walk by the way.

اے تم جو سفید گدھوں پر کپڑے بچھا کر اُن پر سوار ہو، اللہ کی تمجید کرو! اے تم جو پیدل چل رہے ہو، اللہ کی تعریف کرو!

They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates.

سنو! جہاں جانوروں کو پانی پلایا جاتا ہے وہاں لوگ رب کے نجات بخش کاموں کی تعریف کر رہے ہیں، اُن نجات بخش کاموں کی جو اُس نے اسرائیل کے دیہاتیوں کی خاطر کئے۔ تب رب کے لوگ شہر کے دروازوں کے پاس اُتر آئے۔

Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam.

اے دبورہ، اُٹھیں، اُٹھیں! اُٹھیں، ہاں اُٹھیں اور گیت گائیں! اے برق، کھڑے ہو جائیں! اے ابی نوعم کے بیٹے، اپنے قیدیوں کو باندھ کر لے جائیں!

Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the LORD made me have dominion over the mighty.

پھر بچے ہوئے فوجی پہاڑی علاقے سے اُتر کر قوم کے شرفا کے پاس آئے، رب کی قوم سورماؤں کے ساتھ میرے پاس اُتر آئی۔

Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer.

افرائیم سے جس کی جڑیں عمالیق میں ہیں وہ اُتر آئے، اور بن یمین کے مرد اُن کے پیچھے ہو لئے۔ مکیر سے حکمران اور زبولون سے سپہ سالار اُتر آئے۔

And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart.

اِشکار کے رئیس بھی دبورہ کے ساتھ تھے، اور اُس کے فوجی برق کے پیچھے ہو کر وادی میں دوڑ آئے۔ لیکن روبن کا قبیلہ اپنے علاقے میں رہ کر سوچ بچار میں اُلجھا رہا۔

Why abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.

تُو کیوں اپنے زِین کے دو بوروں کے درمیان بیٹھا رہا؟ کیا گلوں کے درمیان چرواہوں کی بانسریوں کی آوازیں سننے کے لئے؟ روبن کا قبیلہ اپنے علاقے میں رہ کر سوچ بچار میں اُلجھا رہا۔

Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches.

جِلعاد کے گھرانے دریائے یردن کے مشرق میں ٹھہرے رہے۔ اور دان کا قبیلہ، وہ کیوں بحری جہازوں کے پاس رہا؟ آشر کا قبیلہ بھی ساحل پر بیٹھا رہا، وہ آرام سے اپنی بندرگاہوں کے پاس ٹھہرا رہا،

Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field.

جبکہ زبولون اور نفتالی اپنی جان پر کھیل کر میدانِ جنگ میں آ گئے۔

The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.

بادشاہ آئے اور لڑے، کنعان کے بادشاہ مجِدّو ندی پر تعنک کے پاس اسرائیل سے لڑے۔ لیکن وہاں سے وہ چاندی کا لُوٹا ہوا مال واپس نہ لائے۔

They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.

آسمان سے ستاروں نے سیسرا پر حملہ کیا، اپنی آسمانی راہوں کو چھوڑ کر وہ اُس سے اور اُس کی قوم سے لڑنے آئے۔

The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.

قیسون ندی اُنہیں اُڑا لے گئی، وہ ندی جو قدیم زمانے سے بہتی ہے۔ اے میری جان، مضبوطی سے آگے چلتی جا!

Then were the horsehoofs broken by the means of the pransings, the pransings of their mighty ones.

اُس وقت ٹاپوں کا بڑا شور سنائی دیا۔ دشمن کے زبردست گھوڑے سرپٹ دوڑ رہے تھے۔

Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty.

رب کے فرشتے نے کہا، ”میروز شہر پر لعنت کرو، اُس کے باشندوں پر خوب لعنت کرو! کیونکہ وہ رب کی مدد کرنے نہ آئے، وہ سورماؤں کے خلاف رب کی مدد کرنے نہ آئے۔“

Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.

حِبر قینی کی بیوی مبارک ہے! خیموں میں رہنے والی عورتوں میں سے وہ سب سے مبارک ہے!

He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish.

جب سیسرا نے پانی مانگا تو یاعیل نے اُسے دودھ پلایا۔ شاندار پیالے میں لسی ڈال کر وہ اُسے اُس کے پاس لائی۔

She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples.

لیکن پھر اُس نے اپنے ہاتھ سے میخ اور اپنے دہنے ہاتھ سے مزدوروں کا ہتھوڑا پکڑ کر سیسرا کا سر پھوڑ دیا، اُس کی کھوپڑی ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر کے اُس کی کنپٹی کو چھید دیا۔

At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead.

اُس کے پاؤں میں وہ تڑپ اُٹھا۔ وہ گر کر وہیں پڑا رہا۔ ہاں، وہ اُس کے پاؤں میں گر کر ہلاک ہوا۔

The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? why tarry the wheels of his chariots?

سیسرا کی ماں نے کھڑکی میں سے جھانکا اور دریچے میں سے دیکھتی دیکھتی روتی رہی، ”اُس کے رتھ کے پہنچنے میں اِتنی دیر کیوں ہو رہی ہے؟ رتھوں کی آواز اب تک کیوں سنائی نہیں دے رہی؟“

Her wise ladies answered her, yea, she returned answer to herself,

اُس کی دانش مند خواتین اُسے تسلی دیتی ہیں اور وہ خود اُن کی بات دہراتی ہے،

Have they not sped? have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two; to Sisera a prey of divers colours, a prey of divers colours of needlework, of divers colours of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks of them that take the spoil?

”وہ لُوٹا ہوا مال آپس میں بانٹ رہے ہوں گے۔ ہر مرد کے لئے ایک دو لڑکیاں اور سیسرا کے لئے رنگ دار لباس ہو گا۔ ہاں، وہ رنگ دار لباس اور میری گردن کو سجانے کے لئے دو نفیس رنگ دار کپڑے لا رہے ہوں گے۔“

So let all thine enemies perish, O LORD: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.

اے رب، تیرے تمام دشمن سیسرا کی طرح ہلاک ہو جائیں! لیکن جو تجھ سے پیار کرتے ہیں وہ پورے زور سے طلوع ہونے والے سورج کی مانند ہوں۔“ برق کی اِس فتح کے بعد اسرائیل میں 40 سال امن و امان قائم رہا۔
