Psalms 48

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

Пісня. Псалом синів Кореєвих.

Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

Великий Господь і прославлений вельми в місті нашого Бога, на святій Своїй горі!

God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

Препишна країна, розрада всієї землі, то Сіонська гора, на північних околицях, місто Царя можновладного!

For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

Бог у храмах Своїх, за твердиню Він знаний.

They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.

Бо царі ось зібрались, ішли вони разом,

Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

але, як побачили, то здивувались, полякалися та й розпорошились...

Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

Обгорнув їх там страх, немов біль породіллю;

As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

Ти східнім вітром розбив кораблі ті Таршіські.

We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

Як ми чули, так бачили в місті Господа Саваота, у місті нашого Бога, Бог міцно поставить навіки його! Села.

According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

Розмишляли ми, Боже, про милість Твою серед храму Твого.

Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

Як ім'я Твоє, Боже, так слава Твоя аж по кінці землі, справедливости повна правиця Твоя!

Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

Нехай веселиться Сіонська гора, Юдині дочки хай тішаться через Твої правосуддя.

Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.

Оточіте Сіон й обступіте його, полічіть його башти,

For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

зверніте увагу на вала його, високість палати його пообмірюйте, щоб розповісти поколінню наступному, бо Цей Бог то наш Бог на вічні віки, Він буде провадити нас аж до смерти!
