Psalms 80

Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.

Ó pastor de Israel, dá ouvidos; tu, que guias a José como a um rebanho, que estás entronizado sobre os querubins, resplandece.

Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.

Perante Efraim, Benjamim e Manassés, desperta o teu poder, e vem salvar-nos.

Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Reabilita-nos, ó Deus; faze resplandecer o teu rosto, para que sejamos salvos.

O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?

Ó Senhor Deus dos exércitos, até quando te indignarás contra a oração do teu povo?

Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.

Tu os alimentaste com pão de lágrimas, e lhes deste a beber lágrimas em abundância.

Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.

Tu nos fazes objeto de escárnio entre os nossos vizinhos; e os nossos inimigos zombam de nós entre si.

Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Reabilita-nos, ó Deus dos exércitos; faze resplandecer o teu rosto, para que sejamos salvos.

Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.

Trouxeste do Egito uma videira; lançaste fora as nações, e a plantaste.

Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.

Preparaste-lhe lugar; e ela deitou profundas raízes, e encheu a terra.

The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.

Os montes cobriram-se com a sua sombra, e os cedros de Deus com os seus ramos.

She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.

Ela estendeu a sua ramagem até o mar, e os seus rebentos até o Rio.

Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?

Por que lhe derrubaste as cercas, de modo que a vindimam todos os que passam pelo caminho?

The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.

O javali da selva a devasta, e as feras do campo alimentam-se dela.

Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;

Ó Deus dos exércitos, volta-te, nós te rogamos; atende do céu, e vê, e visita esta videira,

And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.

a videira que a tua destra plantou, e o sarmento que fortificaste para ti.

It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

Está queimada pelo fogo, está cortada; eles perecem pela repreensão do teu rosto.

Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.

Seja a tua mão sobre o varão da tua destra, sobre o filho do homem que fortificaste para ti.

So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.

E não nos afastaremos de ti; vivifica-nos, e nós invocaremos o teu nome.

Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Reabilita-nos, Senhor Deus dos exércitos; faze resplandecer o teu rosto, para que sejamos salvos.
