Psalms 21

Az éneklőmesternek; Dávid zsoltára.

The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

Uram, a te erősségedben örül a király, és a te segítségedben felette örvendez.

Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

Szívének kivánságát megadtad néki; és ajkainak kérését nem tagadtad meg. Szela.

For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.

Sőt eléje vitted javaidnak áldásait; szín-arany koronát tettél fejére.

He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

Életet kért tőled: adtál néki hosszú időt, örökkévalót és végtelent.

His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

Nagy az ő dicsősége a te segítséged által; fényt és méltóságot adtál reája.

For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

Sőt áldássá tetted őt örökké, megvidámítottad őt színed örömével.

For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

Bizony a király bízik az Úrban, és nem inog meg, mert vele a Magasságosnak kegyelme.

Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

Megtalálja kezed minden ellenségedet; jobbod megtalálja gyűlölőidet.

Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

Tüzes kemenczévé teszed őket megjelenésed idején; az Úr az ő haragjában elnyeli őket és tűz emészti meg őket.

Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.

Gyümölcsüket kiveszted e földről, és magvokat az emberek fiai közül.

For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.

Mert gonoszságot terveztek ellened, csalárdságot gondoltak, de nem vihetik ki;

Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.

Mert meghátráltatod őket, íved húrjait arczuknak feszíted. * (Psalms 21:14) Emelkedjél fel Uram, a te erőddel, hadd énekeljünk, hadd zengedezzük hatalmadat! *

Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.
