Job 11

इस पर नामात नामक प्रदेश के सोपर ने अय्यूब को उत्तर देते हुये कहा,

Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

“इस शब्दों के प्रवाह का उत्तर देना चाहिये। क्या यह सब कहना अय्यूब को निर्दोंष ठहराता है? नहीं!

Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?

अय्यूब, क्या तुम सोचते हो कि हमारे पास तुम्हारे लिये उत्तर नहीं है? क्या तुम सोचते हो कि जब तुम परमेश्वर पर हंसते हो तो कोई तुम्हें चेतावनी नहीं देगा।

Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?

अय्यूब, तुम परमेश्वर से कहते रहे कि, ‘मेरा विश्वास सत्य है और तू देख सकता है कि मैं निष्कलंक हूँ!’

For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.

अय्यूब, मेरी ये इच्छा है कि परमेश्वर तुझे उत्तर दे, यह बताते हुए कि तू दोषपूर्ण है!

But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;

काश! परमेश्वर तुझे बुद्धि के छिपे रहस्य बताता और वह सचमुच तुझे उनको बतायेगा! हर कहानी के दो पक्ष होते हैं, अय्यूब, मेरी सुन परमेश्वर तुझे कम दण्डित कर रहा है, अपेक्षाकृत जितना उसे सचमुच तुझे दण्डित करना चाहिये।

And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

“अय्यूब, क्या तुम सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर के रहस्यपूर्ण सत्य समझ सकते हो? क्या तुम उसके विवेक की सीमा मर्यादा समझ सकते हो?

Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

उसकी सीमायें आकाश से ऊँची है, इसलिये तुम नहीं समझ सकते हो! सीमायें नर्क की गहराईयों से गहरी है, सो तू उनको समझ नहीं सकता है!

It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?

वे सीमायें धरती से व्यापक हैं, और सागर से विस्तृत हैं।

The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

“यदि परमेश्वर तुझे बंदी बनाये और तुझको न्यायालय में ले जाये, तो कोई भी व्यक्ति उसे रोक नहीं सकता है।

If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?

परमेश्वर सचमुच जानता है कि कौन पाखण्डी है। परमेश्वर जब बुराई को देखता है, तो उसे याद रखता है।

For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?

किन्तु कोई मूढ़ जन कभी बुद्धिमान नहीं होगा, जैसे बनैला गधा कभी मनुष्य को जन्म नहीं दे सकता है।

For vain man would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt.

सो अय्यूब, तुझको अपना मन तैयार करना चाहिये, परमेश्वर की सेवा करने के लिये। तुझे अपने निज हाथों को प्रार्थना करने को ऊपर उठाना चाहिये।

If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;

वह पाप जो तेरे हाथों में बसा है, उसको तू दूर कर। अपने तम्बू में बुराई को मत रहने दे।

If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

तभी तू निश्चय ही बिना किसी लज्जा के आँख ऊपर उठा कर परमेश्वर को देख सकता है। तू दृढ़ता से खड़ा रहेगा और नहीं डरेगा।

For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:

अय्यूब, तब तू अपनी विपदा को भूल पायेगा। तू अपने दुखड़ो को बस उस पानी सा याद करेगा जो तेरे पास से बह कर चला गया।

Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:

तेरा जीवन दोपहर के सूरज से भी अधिक उज्जवल होगा। जीवन की अँधेरी घड़ियाँ ऐसे चमकेगी जैसे सुबह का सूरज।

And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

अय्यूब, तू सुरक्षित अनुभव करेगा क्योंकि वहाँ आशा होगी। परमेश्वर तेरी रखवाली करेगा और तुझे आराम देगा।

And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.

चैन से तू सोयेगा, कोई तुझे नहीं डरायेगा और बहुत से लोग तुझ से सहायता माँगेंगे!

Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.

किन्तु जब बुरे लोग आसरा ढूढेंगे तब उनको नहीं मिलेगा। उनके पास कोई आस नहीं होगी। वे अपनी विपत्तियों से बच कर निकल नहीं पायेंगे। मृत्यु ही उनकी आशा मात्र होगी।”

But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.
