Psalms 31

Auf dich, Jehova, traue ich; laß mich nimmer beschämt werden; errette mich in deiner Gerechtigkeit!

In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

Neige zu mir dein Ohr, eilends errette mich! Sei mir ein Fels der Zuflucht, ein befestigtes Haus, um mich zu retten!

Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.

Denn mein Fels und meine Burg bist du; und um deines Namens willen führe mich und leite mich.

For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.

Ziehe mich aus dem Netze, das sie mir heimlich gelegt haben; denn du bist meine Stärke.

Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.

In deine Hand befehle ich meinen Geist. Du hast mich erlöst, Jehova, du Gott der Wahrheit!

Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

Gehaßt habe ich die, welche auf nichtige Götzen achten, und ich, ich habe auf Jehova vertraut.

I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.

Ich will frohlocken und mich freuen in deiner Güte; denn du hast mein Elend angesehen, hast Kenntnis genommen von den Bedrängnissen meiner Seele,

I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;

und hast mich nicht überliefert in die Hand des Feindes, hast in weiten Raum gestellt meine Füße.

And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.

Sei mir gnädig, Jehova! denn ich bin in Bedrängnis; vor Gram verfällt mein Auge, meine Seele und mein Bauch.

Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

Denn vor Kummer schwindet mein Leben dahin, und meine Jahre vor Seufzen; meine Kraft wankt durch meine Ungerechtigkeit, und es verfallen meine Gebeine.

For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

Mehr als allen meinen Bedrängern bin ich auch meinen Nachbarn zum Hohn geworden gar sehr, und zum Schrecken meinen Bekannten; die auf der Straße mich sehen, fliehen vor mir.

I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.

Meiner ist im Herzen vergessen wie eines Gestorbenen; ich bin geworden wie ein zertrümmertes Gefäß.

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

Denn ich habe die Verleumdung vieler gehört, Schrecken ringsum; indem sie zusammen wider mich ratschlagten, sannen sie darauf, mir das Leben zu nehmen.

For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

Ich aber, ich habe auf dich vertraut, Jehova; ich sagte: Du bist mein Gott!

But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God.

In deiner Hand sind meine Zeiten; errette mich aus der Hand meiner Feinde und von meinen Verfolgern!

My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

Laß dein Angesicht leuchten über deinen Knecht, rette mich in deiner Güte!

Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.

Jehova, laß mich nicht beschämt werden! denn ich habe dich angerufen; laß beschämt werden die Gesetzlosen, laß sie schweigen im Scheol!

Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.

Laß verstummen die Lügenlippen, die in Hochmut und Verachtung Freches reden wider den Gerechten!

Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

Wie groß ist deine Güte, welche du aufbewahrt hast denen, die dich fürchten, gewirkt für die, die auf dich trauen, angesichts der Menschenkinder!

Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

Du verbirgst sie in dem Schirme deiner Gegenwart vor den Verschwörungen der Menschen; du birgst sie in einer Hütte vor dem Gezänk der Zunge.

Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

Gepriesen sei Jehova! denn wunderbar hat er seine Güte an mir erwiesen in einer festen Stadt.

Blessed be the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.

Ich zwar sagte in meiner Bestürzung: Ich bin abgeschnitten von deinen Augen; dennoch hörtest du die Stimme meines Flehens, als ich zu dir schrie.

For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.

Liebet Jehova, ihr seine Frommen alle! Die Treuen behütet Jehova, und vergilt reichlich dem, der Hochmut übt.

O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

Seid stark, und euer Herz fasse Mut, alle, die ihr auf Jehova harret!

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.
