Přednímu z kantorů na gittit, Azafovi.

Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

Plésejte Bohu, síle naší, prokřikujte Bohu Jákobovu.

Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

Vezměte žaltář, přidejte buben, harfu libou a loutnu.

Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

Trubte trubou na novměsíce, v uložený čas, v den slavnosti naší.

For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

Nebo toť jest ustavení v Izraeli, řád Boha Jákobova.

This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

Na svědectví v Jozefovi vyzdvihl jej, když byl vyšel proti zemi Egyptské, kdež jsme jazyk neznámý slýchati musili.

I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

Osvobodil jsem, dí Bůh, od břemene rameno jeho, a ruce jeho nádob zednických zproštěny byly.

Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

V ssoužení tom, když jsi volal, vytrhl jsem tě, vyslyšel jsem tě z skrýše hromu, zkušoval jsem tě při vodách sváru. Sélah.

Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;

Řeklť jsem: Slyš, lide můj, a osvědčím se tobě, ó Izraeli, budeš-li mne poslouchati,

There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

A nebude-li mezi vámi Boha jiného, a nebudeš-li se klaněti bohu cizímu.

I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

Já jsem Hospodin Bůh tvůj, kterýž jsem tě vyvedl z země Egyptské, otevři jen ústa svá, a naplnímť je.

But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

Ale neuposlechl lid můj hlasu mého, a Izrael nepřestal na mně,

So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

A protož pustil jsem je v žádost srdce jejich, i chodili po radách svých.

Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

Ó byť mne byl lid můj poslouchal, a Izrael po cestách mých chodil,

I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

Tudíž bych já byl nepřátely jejich snížil, a na protivníky jejich obrátil ruku svou.

The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

A ti, kteříž v nenávisti mají Hospodina, úlisně by se jim poddávati musili, i byl by čas jejich až na věky. [ (Psalms 81:17) A krmil bych je byl jádrem pšenice, a medem z skály sytil bych je. ]

He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.
