II Samuel 14

И когато Йоав, синът на Саруя, разбра, че сърцето на царя се стремеше към Авесалом,

Now Joab the son of Zeruiah perceived that the king's heart was toward Absalom.

Йоав прати в Текое и доведе от там една умна жена и й каза: Моля те, престори се на оплаквачка и облечи траурни дрехи, и не се помазвай с масло, а бъди като жена, която от дълго време жалее за мъртвец.

And Joab sent to Tekoah, and fetched thence a wise woman, and said unto her, I pray thee, feign thyself to be a mourner, and put on now mourning apparel, and anoint not thyself with oil, but be as a woman that had a long time mourned for the dead:

И иди при царя и му говори според тези думи; и Йоав вложи думите в устата й.

And come to the king, and speak on this manner unto him. So Joab put the words in her mouth.

И текойката говори на царя и падна по лице на земята, и се поклони, и каза: Помогни, царю!

And when the woman of Tekoah spake to the king, she fell on her face to the ground, and did obeisance, and said, Help, O king.

И царят й каза: Какво ти е? А тя каза: Ах, аз съм вдовица, мъжът ми умря.

And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, I am indeed a widow woman, and mine husband is dead.

И слугинята ти имаше двама сина, но те двамата се сбиха на полето и нямаше кой да ги раздели, и единият удари другия и го уби.

And thy handmaid had two sons, and they two strove together in the field, and there was none to part them, but the one smote the other, and slew him.

А ето, целият род стана против слугинята ти и казва: Предай онзи, който уби брат си, за да го убием за живота на брат му, когото уби, и да изтребим и наследника. Така искат да угасят въглена, който ми е останал, и да не оставят на мъжа ми нито име, нито остатък по лицето на земята.

And, behold, the whole family is risen against thine handmaid, and they said, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother whom he slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall quench my coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the earth.

Тогава царят каза на жената: Иди си у дома и аз ще се разпоредя за теб.

And the king said unto the woman, Go to thine house, and I will give charge concerning thee.

А текойката каза на царя: На мен, господарю мой, царю, и на бащиния ми дом да е вината, а царят и престолът му да са невинни!

And the woman of Tekoah said unto the king, My lord, O king, the iniquity be on me, and on my father's house: and the king and his throne be guiltless.

Тогава царят каза: Който говори против теб, доведи го при мен и няма да те докосне повече.

And the king said, Whosoever saith ought unto thee, bring him to me, and he shall not touch thee any more.

Тогава тя каза: Моля те, нека царят помни ГОСПОДА, своя Бог, за да не продължи отмъстителят за кръвта да изтребва, за да не погубят сина ми! А той каза: Жив е ГОСПОД — нито един косъм на сина ти няма да падне на земята!

Then said she, I pray thee, let the king remember the LORD thy God, that thou wouldest not suffer the revengers of blood to destroy any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, As the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of thy son fall to the earth.

Тогава жената каза: Моля те, нека слугинята ти говори една дума на господаря си, царя. И той каза: Говори.

Then the woman said, Let thine handmaid, I pray thee, speak one word unto my lord the king. And he said, Say on.

Тогава жената каза: А защо си замислил такова нещо против Божия народ? Защото, като казва това, царят е като виновен, понеже царят не връща обратно своя изгнаник.

And the woman said, Wherefore then hast thou thought such a thing against the people of God? for the king doth speak this thing as one which is faulty, in that the king doth not fetch home again his banished.

Защото ние със сигурност ще умрем и сме като вода, разлята по земята, която не може да се събере отново. И Бог не отнема живот, а измисля средства, така че изгнаникът да не остане отхвърлен от Него.

For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect any person: yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.

Затова сега дойдох да кажа това нещо на господаря си, царя, защото народът ме уплаши; и слугинята ти каза: Ще говоря сега на царя; може би царят ще извърши думата на слугинята си,

Now therefore that I am come to speak of this thing unto my lord the king, it is because the people have made me afraid: and thy handmaid said, I will now speak unto the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his handmaid.

защото царят ще послуша да избави слугинята си от ръката на човека, който иска да изтреби мен и сина ми заедно с мен от Божието наследство.

For the king will hear, to deliver his handmaid out of the hand of the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.

И слугинята ти каза: Моля те, нека думата на господаря ми, царя, бъде утешителна, защото както Божият ангел, така е и господарят ми, царят, да изслушва добро и зло. И ГОСПОД, твоят Бог, да бъде с теб.

Then thine handmaid said, The word of my lord the king shall now be comfortable: for as an angel of God, so is my lord the king to discern good and bad: therefore the LORD thy God will be with thee.

Тогава царят отговори и каза на жената: Моля те, не скривай от мен нищо, което ще те попитам. И жената каза: Моля те, нека говори господарят ми, царят.

Then the king answered and said unto the woman, Hide not from me, I pray thee, the thing that I shall ask thee. And the woman said, Let my lord the king now speak.

Тогава царят каза: С теб ли е във всичко това ръката на Йоав? И жената отговори и каза: Жива е душата ти господарю мой, царю — никой не може да се отклони нито надясно, нито наляво от нищо, което говори господарят ми, царят, защото слугата ти Йоав, той ми заповяда и сложи всички тези думи в устата на слугинята ти.

And the king said, Is not the hand of Joab with thee in all this? And the woman answered and said, As thy soul liveth, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand or to the left from ought that my lord the king hath spoken: for thy servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in the mouth of thine handmaid:

За да даде друго лице на нещата, слугата ти Йоав стори това; но господарят ми е мъдър, като мъдростта на Божия ангел, за да знае всичко на земята.

To fetch about this form of speech hath thy servant Joab done this thing: and my lord is wise, according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all things that are in the earth.

Тогава царят каза на Йоав: Ето сега, направих това нещо. Затова иди и доведи обратно младежа Авесалом.

And the king said unto Joab, Behold now, I have done this thing: go therefore, bring the young man Absalom again.

И Йоав падна по лице на земята и се поклони, и благослови царя. После Йоав каза: Днес слугата ти знае, че намерих благоволение пред теб, господарю мой, царю, тъй като царят извърши думата на слугата си.

And Joab fell to the ground on his face, and bowed himself, and thanked the king: and Joab said, To day thy servant knoweth that I have found grace in thy sight, my lord, O king, in that the king hath fulfilled the request of his servant.

И Йоав стана и отиде в Гесур, и доведе Авесалом в Ерусалим.

So Joab arose and went to Geshur, and brought Absalom to Jerusalem.

А царят каза: Нека се върне в къщата си и да не види лицето ми. И Авесалом се върна в къщата си и не видя лицето на царя.

And the king said, Let him turn to his own house, and let him not see my face. So Absalom returned to his own house, and saw not the king's face.

А в целия Израил нямаше никой толкова хвален за красотата си като Авесалом; от стъпалото на краката му до темето му нямаше недостатък у него.

But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.

И когато стрижеше косата на главата си — а той я стрижеше в края на всяка година, понеже му натежаваше — когато я стрижеше, той претегляше косата на главата си на двеста сикъла според царската мярка.

And when he polled his head, (for it was at every year's end that he polled it: because the hair was heavy on him, therefore he polled it:) he weighed the hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the king's weight.

А на Авесалом се родиха трима сина и една дъщеря на име Тамар; тя беше красива на вид жена.

And unto Absalom there were born three sons, and one daughter, whose name was Tamar: she was a woman of a fair countenance.

И Авесалом живя в Ерусалим две пълни години, без да види лицето на царя.

So Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem, and saw not the king's face.

Тогава Авесалом изпрати до Йоав, за да го изпрати при царя, но той не искаше да дойде при него. И той изпрати пак, за втори път, но той не искаше да дойде.

Therefore Absalom sent for Joab, to have sent him to the king; but he would not come to him: and when he sent again the second time, he would not come.

Тогава той каза на слугите си: Ето, нивата на Йоав е до мен и той има ечемик там; идете и го изгорете с огън. И слугите на Авесалом запалиха нивата.

Therefore he said unto his servants, See, Joab's field is near mine, and he hath barley there; go and set it on fire. And Absalom's servants set the field on fire.

Тогава Йоав стана, дойде при Авесалом в къщата му и му каза: Защо слугите ти са изгорили нивата ми с огън?

Then Joab arose, and came to Absalom unto his house, and said unto him, Wherefore have thy servants set my field on fire?

А Авесалом каза на Йоав: Ето, изпратих до теб да кажат: Ела тук, за да те изпратя при царя да кажеш: Защо дойдох от Гесур? Щеше да ми е по-добре да бях още там. И сега, нека видя лицето на царя; и ако в мен има неправда, нека ме убие.

And Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore am I come from Geshur? it had been good for me to have been there still: now therefore let me see the king's face; and if there be any iniquity in me, let him kill me.

Тогава Йоав дойде при царя и му каза. И той извика Авесалом. И той дойде при царя и падна по лице на земята пред царя и царят целуна Авесалом.

So Joab came to the king, and told him: and when he had called for Absalom, he came to the king, and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king: and the king kissed Absalom.
