Psalms 8

O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

داؤد کا زبور۔ موسیقی کے راہنما کے لئے۔ طرز: گتّیت۔ اے رب ہمارے آقا، تیرا نام پوری دنیا میں کتنا شاندار ہے! تُو نے آسمان پر ہی اپنا جلال ظاہر کر دیا ہے۔

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

اپنے مخالفوں کے جواب میں تُو نے چھوٹے بچوں اور شیرخواروں کی زبان کو تیار کیا ہے تاکہ وہ تیری قوت سے دشمن اور کینہ پرور کو ختم کریں۔

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

جب مَیں تیرے آسمان کا ملاحظہ کرتا ہوں جو تیری اُنگلیوں کا کام ہے، چاند اور ستاروں پر غور کرتا ہوں جن کو تُو نے اپنی اپنی جگہ پر قائم کیا

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

تو انسان کون ہے کہ تُو اُسے یاد کرے یا آدم زاد کہ تُو اُس کا خیال رکھے؟

For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

تُو نے اُسے فرشتوں سے کچھ ہی کم بنایا ، تُو نے اُسے جلال اور عزت کا تاج پہنایا۔

Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

تُو نے اُسے اپنے ہاتھوں کے کاموں پر مقرر کیا، سب کچھ اُس کے پاؤں کے نیچے کر دیا،

All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;

خواہ بھیڑبکریاں ہوں خواہ گائےبَیل، جنگلی جانور،

The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

پرندے، مچھلیاں یا سمندری راہوں پر چلنے والے باقی تمام جانور۔

O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

اے رب ہمارے آقا، پوری دنیا میں تیرا نام کتنا شاندار ہے!
