Psalms 141

LORD, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.

داؤد کا زبور۔ اے رب، مَیں تجھے پکار رہا ہوں، میرے پاس آنے میں جلدی کر! جب مَیں تجھے آواز دیتا ہوں تو میری فریاد پر دھیان دے!

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

میری دعا تیرے حضور بخور کی قربانی کی طرح قبول ہو، میرے تیری طرف اُٹھائے ہوئے ہاتھ شام کی غلہ کی نذر کی طرح منظور ہوں۔

Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

اے رب، میرے منہ پر پہرہ بٹھا، میرے ہونٹوں کے دروازے کی نگہبانی کر۔

Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.

میرے دل کو غلط بات کی طرف مائل نہ ہونے دے، ایسا نہ ہو کہ مَیں بدکاروں کے ساتھ مل کر بُرے کام میں ملوث ہو جاؤں اور اُن کے لذیذ کھانوں میں شرکت کروں۔

Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

راست باز شفقت سے مجھے مارے اور مجھے تنبیہ کرے۔ میرا سر اِس سے انکار نہیں کرے گا، کیونکہ یہ اُس کے لئے شفابخش تیل کی مانند ہو گا۔ لیکن مَیں ہر وقت شریروں کی حرکتوں کے خلاف دعا کرتا ہوں۔

When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

جب وہ گر کر اُس چٹان کے ہاتھ میں آئیں گے جو اُن کا منصف ہے تو وہ میری باتوں پر دھیان دیں گے، اور اُنہیں سمجھ آئے گی کہ وہ کتنی پیاری ہیں۔

Our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth.

اے اللہ، ہماری ہڈیاں اُس زمین کی مانند ہیں جس پر کسی نے اِتنے زور سے ہل چلایا ہے کہ ڈھیلے اُڑ کر اِدھر اُدھر بکھر گئے ہیں۔ ہماری ہڈیاں پاتال کے منہ تک بکھر گئی ہیں۔

But mine eyes are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

اے رب قادرِ مطلق، میری آنکھیں تجھ پر لگی رہتی ہیں، اور مَیں تجھ میں پناہ لیتا ہوں۔ مجھے موت کے حوالے نہ کر۔

Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

مجھے اُس جال سے محفوظ رکھ جو اُنہوں نے مجھے پکڑنے کے لئے بچھایا ہے۔ مجھے بدکاروں کے پھندوں سے بچائے رکھ۔

Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.

بےدین مل کر اُن کے اپنے جالوں میں اُلجھ جائیں جبکہ مَیں بچ کر آگے نکلوں۔
