John 21

After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.

اِس کے بعد عیسیٰ ایک بار پھر اپنے شاگردوں پر ظاہر ہوا جب وہ تبریاس یعنی گلیل کی جھیل پر تھے۔ یہ یوں ہوا۔

There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.

کچھ شاگرد شمعون پطرس کے ساتھ جمع تھے، توما جو جُڑواں کہلاتا تھا، نتن ایل جو گلیل کے قانا سے تھا، زبدی کے دو بیٹے اور مزید دو شاگرد۔

Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

شمعون پطرس نے کہا، ”مَیں مچھلی پکڑنے جا رہا ہوں۔“ دوسروں نے کہا، ”ہم بھی ساتھ جائیں گے۔“ چنانچہ وہ نکل کر کشتی پر سوار ہوئے۔ لیکن اُس پوری رات ایک بھی مچھلی ہاتھ نہ آئی۔

But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.

صبح سویرے عیسیٰ جھیل کے کنارے پر آ کھڑا ہوا۔ لیکن شاگردوں کو معلوم نہیں تھا کہ وہ عیسیٰ ہی ہے۔

Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.

اُس نے اُن سے پوچھا، ”بچو، کیا تمہیں کھانے کے لئے کچھ مل گیا؟“ اُنہوں نے جواب دیا، ”نہیں۔“

And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

اُس نے کہا، ”اپنا جال کشتی کے دائیں ہاتھ ڈالو، پھر تم کو کچھ ملے گا۔“ اُنہوں نے ایسا کیا تو مچھلیوں کی اِتنی بڑی تعداد تھی کہ وہ جال کشتی تک نہ لا سکے۔

Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.

اِس پر خداوند کے پیارے شاگرد نے پطرس سے کہا، ”یہ تو خداوند ہے۔“ یہ سنتے ہی کہ خداوند ہے شمعون پطرس اپنی چادر اوڑھ کر پانی میں کود پڑا (اُس نے چادر کو کام کرنے کے لئے اُتار لیا تھا۔)

And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.

دوسرے شاگرد کشتی پر سوار اُس کے پیچھے آئے۔ وہ کنارے سے زیادہ دُور نہیں تھے، تقریباً سَو میٹر کے فاصلے پر تھے۔ اِس لئے وہ مچھلیوں سے بھرے جال کو پانی میں کھینچ کھینچ کر خشکی تک لائے۔

As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.

جب وہ کشتی سے اُترے تو دیکھا کہ لکڑی کے کوئلوں کی آگ پر مچھلیاں بُھنی جا رہی ہیں اور ساتھ روٹی بھی ہے۔

Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.

عیسیٰ نے اُن سے کہا، ”اُن مچھلیوں میں سے کچھ لے آؤ جو تم نے ابھی پکڑی ہیں۔“

Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.

شمعون پطرس کشتی پر گیا اور جال کو خشکی پر گھسیٹ لایا۔ یہ جال 153 بڑی مچھلیوں سے بھرا ہوا تھا، توبھی وہ نہ پھٹا۔

Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

عیسیٰ نے اُن سے کہا، ”آؤ، ناشتہ کر لو۔“ کسی بھی شاگرد نے سوال کرنے کی جرٲت نہ کی کہ ”آپ کون ہیں؟“ کیونکہ وہ تو جانتے تھے کہ یہ خداوند ہی ہے۔

Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.

پھر عیسیٰ آیا اور روٹی لے کر اُنہیں دی اور اِسی طرح مچھلی بھی اُنہیں کھلائی۔

This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.

عیسیٰ کے جی اُٹھنے کے بعد یہ تیسری بار تھی کہ وہ اپنے شاگردوں پر ظاہر ہوا۔

So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

ناشتے کے بعد عیسیٰ شمعون پطرس سے مخاطب ہوا، ”یوحنا کے بیٹے شمعون، کیا تُو اِن کی نسبت مجھ سے زیادہ محبت کرتا ہے؟“ اُس نے جواب دیا، ”جی خداوند، آپ تو جانتے ہیں کہ مَیں آپ کو پیار کرتا ہوں۔“ عیسیٰ بولا، ”پھر میرے لیلوں کو چَرا۔“

He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

تب عیسیٰ نے ایک اَور مرتبہ پوچھا، ”شمعون یوحنا کے بیٹے، کیا تُو مجھ سے محبت کرتا ہے؟“ اُس نے جواب دیا، ”جی خداوند، آپ تو جانتے ہیں کہ مَیں آپ کو پیار کرتا ہوں۔“ عیسیٰ بولا، ”پھر میری بھیڑوں کی گلہ بانی کر۔“

He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

تیسری بار عیسیٰ نے اُس سے پوچھا، ”شمعون یوحنا کے بیٹے، کیا تُو مجھے پیار کرتا ہے؟“ تیسری دفعہ یہ سوال سننے سے پطرس کو بڑا دُکھ ہوا۔ اُس نے کہا، ”خداوند، آپ کو سب کچھ معلوم ہے۔ آپ تو جانتے ہیں کہ مَیں آپ کو پیار کرتا ہوں۔“ عیسیٰ نے اُس سے کہا، ”میری بھیڑوں کو چَرا۔

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.

مَیں تجھے سچ بتاتا ہوں کہ جب تُو جوان تھا تو تُو خود اپنی کمر باندھ کر جہاں جی چاہتا گھومتا پھرتا تھا۔ لیکن جب تُو بوڑھا ہو گا تو تُو اپنے ہاتھوں کو آگے بڑھائے گا اور کوئی اَور تیری کمر باندھ کر تجھے لے جائے گا جہاں تیرا دل نہیں کرے گا۔“

This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

(عیسیٰ کی یہ بات اِس طرف اشارہ تھا کہ پطرس کس قسم کی موت سے اللہ کو جلال دے گا۔) پھر اُس نے اُسے بتایا، ”میرے پیچھے چل۔“

Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?

پطرس نے مُڑ کر دیکھا کہ جو شاگرد عیسیٰ کو پیارا تھا وہ اُن کے پیچھے چل رہا ہے۔ یہ وہی شاگرد تھا جس نے شام کے کھانے کے دوران عیسیٰ کی طرف سر جھکا کر پوچھا تھا، ”خداوند، کون آپ کو دشمن کے حوالے کرے گا؟“

Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?

اب اُسے دیکھ کر پطرس نے سوال کیا، ”خداوند، اِس کے ساتھ کیا ہو گا؟“

Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”اگر مَیں چاہوں کہ یہ میرے واپس آنے تک زندہ رہے تو تجھے کیا؟ بس تُو میرے پیچھے چلتا رہ۔“

Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?

نتیجے میں بھائیوں میں یہ خیال پھیل گیا کہ یہ شاگرد نہیں مرے گا۔ لیکن عیسیٰ نے یہ بات نہیں کی تھی۔ اُس نے صرف یہ کہا تھا، ”اگر مَیں چاہوں کہ یہ میرے واپس آنے تک زندہ رہے تو تجھے کیا؟“

This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.

یہ وہ شاگرد ہے جس نے اِن باتوں کی گواہی دے کر اِنہیں قلم بند کر دیا ہے۔ اور ہم جانتے ہیں کہ اُس کی گواہی سچی ہے۔

And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

عیسیٰ نے اِس کے علاوہ بھی بہت کچھ کیا۔ اگر اُس کا ہر کام قلم بند کیا جاتا تو میرے خیال میں پوری دنیا میں یہ کتابیں رکھنے کی گنجائش نہ ہوتی۔
