Jeremiah 25

The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;

یہویقیم بن یوسیاہ کی حکومت کے چوتھے سال میں اللہ کا کلام یرمیاہ پر نازل ہوا۔ اُسی سال بابل کا بادشاہ نبوکدنضر تخت نشین ہوا تھا۔ یہ کلام یہوداہ کے تمام باشندوں کے بارے میں تھا۔

The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,

چنانچہ یرمیاہ نبی نے یروشلم کے تمام باشندوں اور یہوداہ کی پوری قوم سے مخاطب ہو کر کہا،

From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.

”23 سال سے رب کا کلام مجھ پر نازل ہوتا رہا ہے یعنی یوسیاہ بن امون کی حکومت کے تیرھویں سال سے لے کر آج تک۔ بار بار مَیں تمہیں پیغامات سناتا رہا ہوں، لیکن تم نے دھیان نہیں دیا۔

And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

میرے علاوہ رب دیگر تمام نبیوں کو بھی بار بار تمہارے پاس بھیجتا رہا، لیکن تم نے نہ سنا، نہ توجہ دی،

They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:

گو میرے خادم تمہیں بار بار آگاہ کرتے رہے، ’توبہ کرو! ہر ایک اپنی غلط راہوں اور بُری حرکتوں سے باز آ کر واپس آئے۔ پھر تم ہمیشہ تک اُس ملک میں رہو گے جو رب نے تمہیں اور تمہارے باپ دادا کو عطا کیا تھا۔

And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.

اجنبی معبودوں کی پیروی کر کے اُن کی خدمت اور پوجا مت کرنا! اپنے ہاتھوں کے بنائے ہوئے بُتوں سے مجھے طیش نہ دلانا، ورنہ مَیں تمہیں نقصان پہنچاؤں گا‘۔“

Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”افسوس! تم نے میری نہ سنی بلکہ مجھے اپنے ہاتھوں کے بنائے ہوئے بُتوں سے غصہ دلا کر اپنے آپ کو نقصان پہنچایا۔“

Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,

رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ”چونکہ تم نے میرے پیغامات پر دھیان نہ دیا،

Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

اِس لئے مَیں شمال کی تمام قوموں اور اپنے خادم بابل کے بادشاہ نبوکدنضر کو بُلا لوں گا تاکہ وہ اِس ملک، اِس کے باشندوں اور گرد و نواح کے ممالک پر حملہ کریں۔ تب یہ صفحۂ ہستی سے یوں مٹ جائیں گے کہ لوگوں کے رونگٹے کھڑے ہو جائیں گے اور وہ اُن کا مذاق اُڑائیں گے۔ یہ علاقے دائمی کھنڈرات بن جائیں گے۔

Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.

مَیں اُن کے درمیان خوشی و شادمانی اور دُولھے دُلھن کی آوازیں بند کر دوں گا۔ چکّیاں خاموش پڑ جائیں گی اور چراغ بجھ جائیں گے۔

And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

پورا ملک ویران و سنسان ہو جائے گا، چاروں طرف ملبے کے ڈھیر نظر آئیں گے۔ تب تم اور ارد گرد کی قومیں 70 سال تک شاہِ بابل کی خدمت کرو گے۔

And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.

لیکن 70 سال کے بعد مَیں شاہِ بابل اور اُس کی قوم کو مناسب سزا دوں گا۔ مَیں ملکِ بابل کو یوں برباد کروں گا کہ وہ ہمیشہ تک ویران و سنسان رہے گا۔

And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.

اُس وقت مَیں اُس ملک پر سب کچھ نازل کروں گا جو مَیں نے اُس کے بارے میں فرمایا ہے، سب کچھ پورا ہو جائے گا جو اِس کتاب میں درج ہے اور جس کی پیش گوئی یرمیاہ نے تمام اقوام کے بارے میں کی ہے۔

For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.

اُس وقت اُنہیں بھی متعدد قوموں اور بڑے بڑے بادشاہوں کی خدمت کرنی پڑے گی۔ یوں مَیں اُنہیں اُن کی حرکتوں اور اعمال کا مناسب اجر دوں گا۔“

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.

رب جو اسرائیل کا خدا ہے مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا، ”دیکھ، میرے ہاتھ میں میرے غضب سے بھرا ہوا پیالہ ہے۔ اِسے لے کر اُن تمام قوموں کو پلا دے جن کے پاس مَیں تجھے بھیجتا ہوں۔

And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.

جو بھی قوم یہ پیئے وہ میری تلوار کے آگے ڈگمگاتی ہوئی دیوانہ ہو جائے گی۔“

Then took I the cup at the LORD'S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:

چنانچہ مَیں نے رب کے ہاتھ سے پیالہ لے کر اُسے اُن تمام اقوام کو پلا دیا جن کے پاس رب نے مجھے بھیجا۔

To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;

پہلے یروشلم اور یہوداہ کے شہروں کو اُن کے بادشاہوں اور بزرگوں سمیت غضب کا پیالہ پینا پڑا۔ تب ملک ملبے کا ڈھیر بن گیا جسے دیکھ کر لوگوں کے رونگٹے کھڑے ہو گئے۔ آج تک وہ مذاق اور لعنت کا نشانہ ہے۔

Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;

پھر یکے بعد دیگرے متعدد قوموں کو غضب کا پیالہ پینا پڑا۔ ذیل میں اُن کی فہرست ہے: مصر کا بادشاہ فرعون، اُس کے درباری، افسر، پوری مصری قوم

And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,

اور ملک میں بسنے والے غیرملکی، ملکِ عُوض کے تمام بادشاہ، فلستی بادشاہ اور اُن کے شہر اسقلون، غزہ اور عقرون، نیز فلستی شہر اشدود کا بچا کھچا حصہ،

Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,

ادوم، موآب اور عمون،

And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,

صور اور صیدا کے تمام بادشاہ، بحیرۂ روم کے ساحلی علاقے،

Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,

ددان، تیما اور بوز کے شہر، وہ قومیں جو ریگستان کے کنارے کنارے رہتی ہیں،

And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,

ملکِ عرب کے تمام بادشاہ، ریگستان میں مل کر بسنے والے غیرملکیوں کے بادشاہ،

And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,

زِمری، عیلام اور مادی کے تمام بادشاہ،

And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

شمال کے دُور و نزدیک کے تمام بادشاہ۔ یکے بعد دیگرے دنیا کے تمام ممالک کو غضب کا پیالہ پینا پڑا۔ آخر میں شیشک کے بادشاہ کو بھی یہ پیالہ پینا پڑا۔

Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.

پھر رب نے کہا، ”اُنہیں بتا، ’رب الافواج جو اسرائیل کا خدا ہے فرماتا ہے کہ غضب کا پیالہ خوب پیؤ! اِتنا پیؤ کہ نشے میں آ کر قَے آنے لگے۔ اُس وقت تک پیتے جاؤ جب تک تم میری تلوار کے آگے گر کر پڑے نہ رہو۔‘

And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.

اگر وہ تیرے ہاتھ سے پیالہ نہ لیں بلکہ اُسے پینے سے انکار کریں تو اُنہیں بتا، ’رب الافواج خود فرماتا ہے کہ پیؤ!

For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.

دیکھو، جس شہر پر میرے نام کا ٹھپا لگا ہے اُسی پر مَیں آفت لانے لگا ہوں۔ اگر مَیں نے اُسی سے شروع کیا تو پھر تم کس طرح بچے رہو گے؟ یقیناً تمہیں سزا ملے گی، کیونکہ مَیں نے طے کر لیا ہے کہ دنیا کے تمام باشندے تلوار کی زد میں آ جائیں‘۔“ یہ رب الافواج کا فرمان ہے۔

Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

”اے یرمیاہ، اُنہیں یہ تمام پیش گوئیاں سنا کر بتا کہ رب بلندیوں سے دہاڑے گا۔ اُس کی مُقدّس سکونت گاہ سے اُس کی کڑکتی آواز نکلے گی، وہ زور سے اپنی چراگاہ کے خلاف گرجے گا۔ جس طرح انگور کا رس نکالنے والے انگور کو روندتے وقت زور سے نعرے لگاتے ہیں اُسی طرح وہ نعرے لگائے گا، البتہ جنگ کے نعرے۔ کیونکہ وہ دنیا کے تمام باشندوں کے خلاف جنگ کے نعرے لگائے گا۔

A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.

اُس کا شور دنیا کی انتہا تک گونجے گا، کیونکہ رب عدالت میں اقوام سے مقدمہ لڑے گا، وہ تمام انسانوں کا انصاف کر کے شریروں کو تلوار کے حوالے کر دے گا۔“ یہ رب کا فرمان ہے۔

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ”دیکھو، یکے بعد دیگرے تمام قوموں پر آفت نازل ہو رہی ہے، زمین کی انتہا سے زبردست طوفان آ رہا ہے۔

And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

اُس وقت رب کے مارے ہوئے لوگوں کی لاشیں دنیا کے ایک سرے سے دوسرے سرے تک پڑی رہیں گی۔ نہ کوئی اُن پر ماتم کرے گا، نہ اُنہیں اُٹھا کر دفن کرے گا۔ وہ کھیت میں بکھرے گوبر کی طرح زمین پر پڑی رہیں گی۔

Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.

اے گلہ بانو، واویلا کرو! اے ریوڑ کے راہنماؤ، راکھ میں لوٹ پوٹ ہو جاؤ! کیونکہ وقت آ گیا ہے کہ تمہیں ذبح کیا جائے۔ تم گر کر نازک برتن کی طرح پاش پاش ہو جاؤ گے۔

And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.

گلہ بان کہیں بھی بھاگ کر پناہ نہیں لے سکیں گے، ریوڑ کے راہنما بچ ہی نہیں سکیں گے۔

A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.

سنو! گلہ بانوں کی چیخیں اور ریوڑ کے راہنماؤں کی آہیں! کیونکہ رب اُن کی چراگاہ کو تباہ کر رہا ہے۔

And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

پُرسکون مرغزاروں کا ستیاناس ہو گا جب رب کا سخت غضب نازل ہو گا،

He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.

جب رب جوان شیرببر کی طرح اپنی چھپنے کی جگہ سے نکل کر لوگوں پر ٹوٹ پڑے گا۔ تب ظالم کی تیز تلوار اور رب کا شدید قہر اُن کا ملک تباہ کرے گا۔“
