Ezekiel 21

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

رب مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا،

Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,

”اے آدم زاد، یروشلم کی طرف رُخ کر کے مُقدّس جگہوں اور ملکِ اسرائیل کے خلاف نبوّت کر!

And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.

ملک کو بتا، ’رب فرماتا ہے کہ اب مَیں تجھ سے نپٹ لوں گا! اپنی تلوار میان سے کھینچ کر مَیں تیرے تمام باشندوں کو مٹا دوں گا، خواہ راست باز ہوں یا بےدین۔

Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:

کیونکہ مَیں راست بازوں کو بےدینوں سمیت مار ڈالوں گا، اِس لئے میری تلوار میان سے نکل کر جنوب سے لے کر شمال تک ہر شخص پر ٹوٹ پڑے گی۔

That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.

تب تمام لوگوں کو پتا چلے گا کہ مَیں، رب نے اپنی تلوار کو میان سے کھینچ لیا ہے۔ تلوار مارتی رہے گی اور میان میں واپس نہیں آئے گی۔‘

Sigh therefore, thou son of man, with the breaking of thy loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.

اے آدم زاد، آہیں بھر بھر کر یہ پیغام سنا! لوگوں کے سامنے اِتنی تلخی سے آہ و زاری کر کہ کمر میں درد ہونے لگے۔

And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD.

جب وہ تجھ سے پوچھیں، ’آپ کیوں کراہ رہے ہیں؟‘ تو اُنہیں جواب دے، ’مجھے ایک ہول ناک خبر کا علم ہے جو ابھی آنے والی ہے۔ جب یہاں پہنچے گی تو ہر ایک کی ہمت ٹوٹ جائے گی اور ہر ہاتھ بےحس و حرکت ہو جائے گا۔ ہر جان حوصلہ ہارے گی اور ہر گھٹنا ڈانواں ڈول ہو جائے گا۔ رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے کہ اِس خبر کا وقت قریب آ گیا ہے، جو کچھ پیش آنا ہے وہ جلد ہی پیش آئے گا‘۔“

Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

رب ایک بار پھر مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا،

Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:

”اے آدم زاد، نبوّت کر کے لوگوں کو بتا، ’تلوار کو رگڑ رگڑ کر تیز کر دیا گیا ہے۔

It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree.

اب وہ قتل و غارت کے لئے تیار ہے، بجلی کی طرح چمکنے لگی ہے۔ ہم یہ دیکھ کر کس طرح خوش ہو سکتے ہیں؟ اے میرے بیٹے، تُو نے لاٹھی اور ہر تربیت کو حقیر جانا ہے۔

And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.

چنانچہ تلوار کو تیز کروانے کے لئے بھیجا گیا تاکہ اُسے خوب استعمال کیا جا سکے۔ اب وہ رگڑ رگڑ کر تیز کی گئی ہے، اب وہ قاتل کے ہاتھ کے لئے تیار ہے۔‘

Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon thy thigh.

اے آدم زاد، چیخ اُٹھ! واویلا کر! افسوس سے اپنا سینہ پیٹ! تلوار میری قوم اور اسرائیل کے بزرگوں کے خلاف چلنے لگی ہے، اور سب اُس کی زد میں آ جائیں گے۔

Because it is a trial, and what if the sword contemn even the rod? it shall be no more, saith the Lord GOD.

کیونکہ قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے کہ جانچ پڑتال کا وقت آ گیا ہے، اور لازم ہے کہ وہ آئے، کیونکہ تُو نے لاٹھی کی تربیت کو حقیر جانا ہے۔

Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thine hands together, and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which entereth into their privy chambers.

چنانچہ اے آدم زاد، اب تالی بجا کر نبوّت کر! تلوار کو دو بلکہ تین بار اُن پر ٹوٹنے دے! کیونکہ قتل و غارت کی یہ مہلک تلوار قبضے تک مقتولوں میں گھونپی جائے گی۔

I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.

مَیں نے تلوار کو اُن کے شہروں کے ہر دروازے پر کھڑا کر دیا ہے تاکہ آنے جانے والوں کو مار ڈالے، ہر دل ہمت ہارے اور متعدد افراد ہلاک ہو جائیں۔ افسوس! اُسے بجلی کی طرح چمکایا گیا ہے، وہ قتل و غارت کے لئے تیار ہے۔

Go thee one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, whithersoever thy face is set.

اے تلوار، دائیں اور بائیں طرف گھومتی پھر، جس طرف بھی تُو مُڑے اُس طرف مارتی جا!

I will also smite mine hands together, and I will cause my fury to rest: I the LORD have said it.

مَیں بھی تالیاں بجا کر اپنا غصہ اسرائیل پر اُتاروں گا۔ یہ میرا، رب کا فرمان ہے۔“

The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,

رب کا کلام مجھ پر نازل ہوا،

Also, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come: both twain shall come forth out of one land: and choose thou a place, choose it at the head of the way to the city.

”اے آدم زاد، نقشہ بنا کر اُس پر وہ دو راستے دکھا جو شاہِ بابل کی تلوار اختیار کر سکتی ہے۔ دونوں راستے ایک ہی ملک سے شروع ہو جائیں۔ جہاں یہ ایک دوسرے سے الگ ہو جاتے ہیں وہاں دو سائن بورڈ کھڑے کر جو دو مختلف شہروں کے راستے دکھائیں،

Appoint a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced.

ایک عمونیوں کے شہر ربّہ کا اور دوسرا یہوداہ کے قلعہ بند شہر یروشلم کا۔ یہ وہ دو راستے ہیں جو شاہِ بابل کی تلوار اختیار کر سکتی ہے۔

For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.

کیونکہ جہاں یہ دو راستے ایک دوسرے سے الگ ہو جاتے ہیں وہاں شاہِ بابل رُک کر معلوم کرے گا کہ کون سا راستہ اختیار کرنا ہے۔ وہ تیروں کے ذریعے قرعہ ڈالے گا، اپنے بُتوں سے اشارہ ملنے کی کوشش کرے گا اور کسی جانور کی کلیجی کا معائنہ کرے گا۔

At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.

تب اُسے یروشلم کا راستہ اختیار کرنے کی ہدایت ملے گی، چنانچہ وہ اپنے فوجیوں کے ساتھ یروشلم کے پاس پہنچ کر قتل و غارت کا حکم دے گا۔ تب وہ زور سے جنگ کے نعرے لگا لگا کر شہر کو پُشتے سے گھیر لیں گے، محاصرے کے بُرج تعمیر کریں گے اور دروازوں کو توڑنے کی قلعہ شکن مشینیں کھڑی کریں گے۔

And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.

جنہوں نے شاہِ بابل سے وفاداری کی قَسم کھائی ہے اُنہیں یہ پیش گوئی غلط لگے گی، لیکن وہ اُنہیں اُن کے قصور کی یاد دلا کر اُنہیں گرفتار کرے گا۔

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.

چنانچہ رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے، ’تم لوگوں نے خود علانیہ طور پر بےوفا ہونے سے اپنے قصور کی یاد دلائی ہے۔ تمہارے تمام اعمال میں تمہارے گناہ نظر آتے ہیں۔ اِس لئے تم سے سختی سے نپٹا جائے گا۔

And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end,

اے اسرائیل کے بگڑے ہوئے اور بےدین رئیس، اب وہ وقت آ گیا ہے جب تجھے حتمی سزا دی جائے گی۔

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high.

رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے کہ پگڑی کو اُتار، تاج کو دُور کر! اب سب کچھ اُلٹ جائے گا۔ ذلیل کو سرفراز اور سرفراز کو ذلیل کیا جائے گا۔

I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.

مَیں یروشلم کو ملبے کا ڈھیر، ملبے کا ڈھیر، ملبے کا ڈھیر بنا دوں گا۔ اور شہر اُس وقت تک نئے سرے سے تعمیر نہیں کیا جائے گا جب تک وہ نہ آئے جو حق دار ہے۔ اُسی کے حوالے مَیں یروشلم کروں گا۔‘

And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering:

اے آدم زاد، عمونیوں اور اُن کی لعن طعن کے جواب میں نبوّت کر! اُنہیں بتا، ’رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے کہ تلوار قتل و غارت کے لئے میان سے کھینچ لی گئی ہے، اُسے رگڑ رگڑ کر تیز کیا گیا ہے تاکہ بجلی کی طرح چمکتے ہوئے مارتی جائے۔

Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end.

تیرے نبیوں نے تجھے فریب دہ رویائیں اور جھوٹے پیغامات سنائے ہیں۔ لیکن تلوار بےدینوں کی گردن پر نازل ہونے والی ہے، کیونکہ وہ وقت آ گیا ہے جب اُنہیں حتمی سزا دی جائے۔

Shall I cause it to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity.

لیکن اِس کے بعد اپنی تلوار کو میان میں واپس ڈال، کیونکہ مَیں تجھے بھی سزا دوں گا۔ جہاں تُو پیدا ہوا، تیرے اپنے وطن میں مَیں تیری عدالت کروں گا۔

And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy.

مَیں اپنا غضب تجھ پر نازل کروں گا، اپنے قہر کی آگ تیرے خلاف بھڑکاؤں گا۔ مَیں تجھے ایسے وحشی آدمیوں کے حوالے کروں گا جو تباہ کرنے کا فن خوب جانتے ہیں۔

Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.

تُو آگ کا ایندھن بن جائے گا، تیرا خون تیرے اپنے ملک میں بہہ جائے گا۔ آئندہ تجھے کوئی یاد نہیں کرے گا۔ کیونکہ یہ میرا، رب کا فرمان ہے‘۔“
