Psalms 10

Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

हे यहोवा, तू इतनी दूर क्यों खड़ा रहता है? कि संकट में पड़े लोग तुझे नहीं देख पाते।

The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

अहंकारी दुष्ट जन दुर्बल को दु:ख देते हैं। वे अपने षड़यन्त्रों को रचने रहते हैं।

For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.

दुष्ट जन उन वस्तुओं पर गर्व करते हैं, जिनकी उन्हें अभिलाषा है और लालची जन परमेश्वर को कोसते हैं। इस प्रकार दुष्ट दर्शाते हैं कि वे यहोवा से घृणा करते हैं।

The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

दुष्ट जन इतने अभिमानी होते हैं कि वे परमेश्वर का अनुसरण नहीं कर सकते। वे बुरी—बुरी योजनाएँ रचते हैं। वे ऐसे कर्म करते हैं, जैसे परमेश्वर का कोई अस्तित्व ही नहीं।

His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

दुष्ट जन सदा ही कुटिल कर्म करते हैं। वे परमेश्वर की विवेकपूर्ण व्यवस्था और शिक्षाओं पर ध्यान नहीं देते। हे परमेश्वर, तेरे सभी शत्रु तेरे उपदेशों की उपेक्षा करते हैं।

He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

वे सोचते हैं, जैसे कोई बुरी बात उनके साथ नहीं घटेगी। वे कहा करते हैं, “हम मौज से रहेंगे और कभी भी दण्डित नहीं होंगे।”

His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

ऐसे दुष्ट का मुख सदा शाप देता रहता है। वे दूसरे जनों की निन्दा करते हैं और काम में लाने को सदैव बुरी—बुरी योजनाएँ रचते रहते हैं।

He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.

ऐसे लोग गुप्त स्थानों में छिपे रहते हैं, और लोगों को फँसाने की प्रतीक्षा करते हैं। वे लोगों को हानि पहुँचाने के लिये छिपे रहते हैं और निरपराधी लोगों की हत्या करते हैं।

He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.

दुष्ट जन सिंह के समान होते हैं जो उन पशुओं को पकड़ने की घात में रहते हैं। जिन्हें वे खा जायेंगे। दुष्ट जन दीन जनों पर प्रहार करते हैं। उनके बनाये गये जाल में असहाय दीन फँस जाते हैं।

He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.

दुष्ट जन बार—बार दीन पर घात करता और उन्हें दु:ख देता है।

He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

अत: दीन जन सोचने लगते हैं, “परमेश्वर ने हमको भुला ही दिया है! हमसे तो परमेश्वर सदा—सदा के लिये दूर हो गया है। जो कुछ भी हमारे साथ घट रहा, उससे परमेश्वर ने दृष्टि फिरा ली है!”

Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

हे यहोवा, उठ और कुछ तो कर! हे परमेश्वर, ऐसे दुष्ट जनों को दण्ड दे! और इन दीन दुखियों को मत बिसरा!

Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.

दुष्ट जन क्यों परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध होते हैं? क्योंकि वे सोचते हैं कि परमेश्वर उन्हें कभी नहीं दण्डित करेगा।

Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

हे यहोवा, तू निश्चय ही उन बातों को देखता है, जो क्रूर और बुरी हैं। जिनको दुर्जन किया करते हैं। इन बातों को देख और कुछ तो कर! दु:खों से घिरे लोग सहायता माँगने तेरे पास आते हैं। हे यहोवा, केवल तू ही अनाथ बच्चों का सहायक है, अत: उन की रक्षा कर!

Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

हे यहोवा, दुष्ट जनों को तू नष्ट कर दे।

The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

तू उन्हें अपनी धरती से ढकेल बाहर कर

LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

हे यहोवा, दीन दु:खी लोग जो चाहते हैं वह तूने सुन ली। उनकी प्रार्थनाएँ सुन और उन्हें पूरा कर जिनको वे माँगते हैं!

To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

हे यहोवा, अनाथ बच्चों की तू रक्षा कर। दु:खी जनों को और अधिक दु:ख मत पाने दे। दुष्ट जनों को तू इतना भयभीत कर दे कि वे यहाँ न टिक पायें।
