Romans 6

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

پس چه بگوییم؟ آیا باید به زندگی در گناه ادامه دهیم تا فیض خدا افزون گردد؟

God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

به هیچ وجه! ما كه نسبت به گناه مرده‌ایم، چگونه می‌توانیم به زندگی در آن ادامه دهیم؟

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

آیا نمی‌دانید كه وقتی ما در اتّحاد با مسیح عیسی تعمید یافتیم، در اتّحاد با مرگ او تعمید یافتیم؟

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

پس با تعمید خود با او مدفون شدیم و در مرگش شریک گشتیم تا همان طوری که مسیح به وسیلهٔ قدرت پر شكوه پدر، پس از مرگ زنده شد، ما نیز در زندگی تازه‌ای به سر بریم.

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

زیرا اگر ما در مرگی مانند مرگ او با او یكی شدیم، به همان ‌طریق در رستاخیزی مانند رستاخیز او نیز با او یكی خواهیم بود.

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

این را می‌دانیم كه آن آدمی كه در پیش بودیم با مسیح بر روی صلیب او كشته شد ‌تا نفس گناهكار نابود گردد و دیگر بردگان گناه نباشیم،

For he that is dead is freed from sin.

زیرا کسی‌که مرد از گناه آزاد شده است.

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

اگر ما با مسیح مردیم، ایمان داریم كه همچنین با او زیست خواهیم کرد،

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

زیرا می‌دانیم چون مسیح پس از مرگ زنده شده است، او دیگر هرگز نخواهد مرد. یعنی مرگ دیگر بر او تسلّط نخواهد یافت.

For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

مسیح مرد و با این مرگ یک‌بار برای همیشه نسبت به گناه مرده است. ولی او زنده شد و دیگر برای خدا زندگی می‌کند.

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

همین‌طور شما نیز باید خود را نسبت به گناه مرده، امّا نسبت به خدا در اتّحاد با مسیح عیسی ‌زنده بدانید.

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

دیگر نباید گناه بر بدنهای فانی شما حاكم باشد و شما را مطیع هوسهای خود سازد.

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

هیچ‌یک از اعضای بدن خود را در اختیار گناه قرار ندهید تا برای مقاصد شریرانه بكار رود. بلكه خود را به خدا تسلیم نمایید و مانند کسانی‌که از مرگ به زندگی بازگشته‌اند، تمام وجود خود را در اختیار او بگذارید تا اعضای شما برای مقاصد نیكو بكار رود.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

زیرا گناه نباید بر وجود شما حاكم باشد. چون شما تابع شریعت نیستید بلكه زیر فیض خدا هستید.

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

پس چه؟ آیا چون زیر فیض خدا هستیم و نه تابع شریعت، اجازه داریم گناه كنیم؟ نه، به هیچ وجه!

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

مگر نمی‌دانید كه هرگاه شما خود را به عنوان برده در اختیار كسی بگذارید و مطیع او باشید، شما در واقع بردهٔ آن كسی هستید كه از او اطاعت می‌کنید، خواه بردگی از گناه باشد كه نتیجهٔ آن مرگ است و خواه اطاعت از خدا كه نتیجهٔ آن نیكی ‌مطلق می‌باشد.

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

امّا خدا را شكر كه اگر چه یک زمانی بردگان گناه بودید، ‌اكنون با تمام دل از اصول تعالیمی كه به شما داده شده، اطاعت می‌کنید.

Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

و از بندگی گناه آزاد شده، بردگان نیكی ‌مطلق گشته‌اید.

I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

به‌خاطر ضعف طبیعی انسانی شما به طور ساده سخن می‌گویم: همان‌طور كه زمانی تمام اعضای بدن خود را برای انجام گناه به بردگی ناپاكی و شرارت سپرده بودید، اكنون تمام اعضای خود را برای مقاصد مقدّس به بردگی نیكی بسپارید.

For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

وقتی شما بردگان گناه بودید، مجبور نبودید از نیكی مطلق اطاعت كنید.

What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

از انجام آن کارهایی كه اكنون از آنها شرم دارید چه سودی بردید؟ زیرا عاقبت آن کارها مرگ است

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

و اكنون از گناه آزاد گشته بردگان خدا هستید و در نتیجهٔ آن زندگی شما در این دنیا پر از پاكی و عاقبتش حیات جاودان است.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

زیرا مزدی كه گناه می‌دهد موت است، امّا خدا به کسانی‌که با خداوند ما، مسیح عیسی متّحد هستند، حیات جاودان می‌بخشد.
