John 17

These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

پس از این سخنان، عیسی به سوی آسمان نگاه كرد و گفت: «ای پدر، آن ساعت رسیده است. پسر خود را جلال ده تا پسرت نیز تو را جلال دهد،

As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

زیرا تو اختیار تمام انسانها را به دست او سپرده‌ای تا به همهٔ کسانی‌که تو به او بخشیده‌ای حیات جاودان بدهد.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

این است حیات جاودان كه آنها تو را خدای واحد حقیقی و عیسی مسیح را كه فرستادهٔ توست بشناسند.

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

من تو را در روی زمین جلال دادم و کاری را كه به من سپرده شده بود تمام كردم

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

و اكنون ای پدر، مرا در پیشگاه خود جلال بده همان جلالی كه پیش از آفرینش جهان در نزد تو داشتم.

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

«من تو را به آن کسانی‌که تو از میان جهانیان برگزیده و به من بخشیدی شناسانیدم. آنان متعلّق به تو بودند و تو آنان را به من بخشیدی و آنها مطابق كلام تو عمل کرده‌اند.

Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

اكنون آنها می‌دانند كه آنچه به من دادی واقعاً از جانب توست.

For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

زیرا آن كلامی را كه تو به من دادی، به آنان دادم و آنها هم آن را قبول كردند. آنها این حقیقت را می‌دانند كه من از جانب تو آمده‌ام و ایمان دارند كه تو مرا فرستاده‌ای.

I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

«من برای آنها دعا می‌کنم، نه برای جهان. من برای کسانی‌که تو به من داده‌ای دعا می‌کنم زیرا آنها از آن تو هستند.

And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

آنچه من دارم از آن توست و آنچه تو داری از آن من است و جلال من به وسیلهٔ آنها آشكار شده است.

And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

من دیگر در این جهان نمی‌مانم ولی آنها هنوز در جهان هستند و من پیش تو می‌آیم. ای پدر مقدّس، با قدرت نام خود کسانی را كه به من داده‌ای حفظ فرما تا آنها یکی باشند همان طوری که ما یکی هستیم.

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

در مدّتی كه با آنان بودم با قدرت نام تو کسانی را كه به من بخشیدی، حفظ كردم و هیچ‌یک از آنان هلاک نشد جز آن کسی‌که مستحقّ هلاكت بود تا آنچه کتاب‌مقدّس می‌گوید تحقّق یابد.

And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

ولی اكنون پیش تو می‌آیم و قبل از اینکه جهان را ترک كنم این سخنان را می‌گویم تا شادی مرا در خود به حدّ كمال داشته باشند.

I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

من كلام تو را به آنان رسانیده‌ام، امّا چون آنها مانند من به این جهان تعلّق ندارند جهان از آنان نفرت دارد.

I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

به درگاه تو دعا می‌کنم، نه برای اینكه آنان را از جهان ببری بلكه تا آنان را از شرارت و شیطان محافظت فرمایی.

They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

همان‌طور كه من متعلّق به این جهان نیستم، ایشان هم نیستند.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

آنان را به وسیلهٔ راستی خود تقدیس نما، كلام تو راستی است.

As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

همان‌طور كه تو مرا به جهان فرستادی من نیز آنان را به جهان فرستادم.

And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

و اكنون به‌خاطر آنان، خود را تقدیس می‌نمایم تا آنان نیز با راستی تقدیس گردند.

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

«فقط برای اینها دعا نمی‌کنم بلكه برای کسانی هم كه به وسیلهٔ پیام و شهادت آنان به من ایمان خواهند آورد،

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

تا همهٔ آنان یکی باشند آن‌چنان‌که تو ای پدر در من هستی و من در تو و آنان نیز در ما یکی باشند و تا جهان ایمان بیاورد كه تو مرا فرستاده‌ای.

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

آن جلالی را كه تو به من داده‌ای به آنان داده‌ام تا آنها یکی باشند آن‌چنان‌که ما یکی هستیم،

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

من در آنان و تو در من، تا آنها به طور كامل یکی باشند و تا جهان بداند كه تو مرا فرستادی و آنها را مثل خود من دوست داری.

Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

«ای پدر، آرزو دارم کسانی‌که به من بخشیده‌ای در جایی‌که من هستم با من باشند تا جلالی را كه تو بر اثر محبّت خود بیش از آغاز جهان به من دادی، ببیند.

O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

ای پدر عادل، اگر چه جهان تو را نشناخته است، من تو را شناخته‌ام و اینها می‌دانند كه تو مرا فرستادی.

And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

من تو را به آنان شناسانیدم، و باز خواهم شناسانید تا آن محبّتی كه تو نسبت به من داشته‌ای در آنها باشد و من در آنها باشم.»
