Matthew 3

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

В онези дни дойде Йоан Кръстител и проповядваше в юдейската пустиня, като казваше:

And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Покайте се, понеже наближи небесното царство.

For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Защото този беше, за когото се е говорило чрез пророк Исая, който казва: ?Глас на един, който вика в пустинята: Пригответе пътя на Господа! Правете прави Неговите пътеки!“

And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.

А този Йоан носеше облекло от камилска козина и кожен пояс около кръста си; а храната му беше акриди и див мед.

Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,

Тогава излизаше при него Ерусалим, цяла Юдея и цялата йорданска околност

And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

и се кръщаваха от него в реката Йордан, като изповядваха греховете си.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

А като видя, че мнозина от фарисеите и садукеите идваха да се кръстят от него, им каза: Рожби на усойница! Кой ви предупреди да бягате от идещия гняв?

Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

Затова, принасяйте плодове, достойни за покаяние;

And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

и не мислете да си казвате: Авраам е нашият баща. Защото ви казвам, че Бог може и от тези камъни да издигне деца на Авраам.

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

А и брадвата лежи вече при корена на дърветата. И така, всяко дърво, което не дава добър плод, се отсича и се хвърля в огъня.

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Аз ви кръщавам с вода за покаяние; а Онзи, който идва след мен, е по-силен от мен, и на Него не съм достоен да поднеса сандалите. Той ще ви кръсти със Светия Дух и с огън.

Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Лопатата е в ръката Му и Той здраво ще очисти хармана Си, и ще събере житото Си в житницата, а плявата ще изгори в неугасим огън.

Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

Тогава Иисус дойде от Галилея при Йоан на Йордан, за да се кръсти от него.

But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

А Йоан Го възпираше, като Му казваше: Аз имам нужда да се кръстя от Теб. И Ти ли идеш при мен?

And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

А Иисус в отговор му каза: Остави Ме сега, защото така ни подобава да изпълним всяка правда. Тогава Йоан Го остави.

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

И като се кръсти, Иисус веднага излезе от водата; и ето, отвориха Му се небесата и видя Божия Дух, че слизаше като гълъб и се спускаше на Него;

And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

и ето, глас от небесата, който казваше: Този е възлюбеният Ми Син, в когото благоволих.
