II Chronicles 20

It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

След това синовете на Моав и синовете на Амон, и с тях някои от маонците дойдоха да воюват срещу Йосафат.

Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazon–tamar, which is En–gedi.

И дойдоха и съобщиха на Йосафат и казаха: Голямо множество идва срещу теб оттатък морето, от Арам. И ето, вече са в Асасон-Тамар, който е Енгади.

And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

Тогава Йосафат се уплаши и се предаде да търси ГОСПОДА, и прогласи пост по целия Юда.

And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.

И Юда се събра, за да търсят помощ от ГОСПОДА; дори от всичките юдови градове дойдоха да търсят ГОСПОДА.

And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,

И Йосафат застана в събранието на Юда и Ерусалим в ГОСПОДНИЯ дом, пред новия двор, и каза:

And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?

ГОСПОДИ, Боже на бащите ни, не си ли Ти Бог на небето и владетел над всичките царства на народите? В Твоята ръка е сила и мощ и никой не може да устои против Теб.

Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

Не изгони ли Ти, Боже наш, жителите на тази земя пред народа Си Израил и не я ли даде на потомството на приятеля Си Авраам до века?

And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,

И те се заселиха в нея и Ти построиха в нея светилище за Името Ти, и казаха:

If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.

Когато ни връхлети зло — меч, наказание или мор, или глад — и ние застанем пред този дом и пред Теб — защото Твоето Име е в този дом — и извикаме към Теб в бедствието си, тогава Ти ще ни чуеш и спасиш.

And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;

И сега, ето, синовете на Амон и Моав и онези от планината Сиир, към които Ти не остави Израил да отиде, когато идваше от египетската земя, а се отклони от тях и не ги изтреби,

Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.

ето как ни отплащат — като идват да ни изгонят от Твоето притежание, което си ни дал да притежаваме!

O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.

Боже наш, няма ли да ги съдиш? Защото в нас няма сила пред това голямо множество, което идва против нас. И ние не знаем какво да правим, а към Теб са обърнати очите ни.

And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.

А целият Юда стоеше пред ГОСПОДА с челядите си, жените си и синовете си.

Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;

Тогава ГОСПОДНИЯТ дух беше сред събранието на левита Яазиил, сина на Захария, син на Ваная, син на Ехиил, син на Матания, от синовете на Асаф, и той каза:

And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

Слушайте, всички от Юда и вие ерусалимски жители, и ти царю Йосафат! Така ви говори ГОСПОД: Не се бойте и не се плашете от това голямо множество, защото боят не е ваш, а Божи.

To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.

Слезте утре против тях. Ето те се изкачват по възвишението Асис и ще ги намерите при края на долината, пред пустинята Еруил.

Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.

Няма вие да се биете в този бой. Пристъпете, застанете и вижте избавлението, което ГОСПОД ще извърши за вас, Юда и Ерусалим! Не се бойте и не се плашете! Утре излезте срещу тях и ГОСПОД ще бъде с вас.

And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.

Тогава Йосафат се наведе с лице до земята, и целият Юда и ерусалимските жители паднаха пред ГОСПОДА, и се поклониха на ГОСПОДА.

And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.

И левитите, от синовете на каатците и от синовете на корейците, станаха да хвалят с много силен глас ГОСПОДА, Израилевия Бог.

And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

И на сутринта станаха рано и излязоха към пустинята Текое. А когато излизаха, Йосафат застана и каза: Слушайте ме, Юда и вие, ерусалимски жители! Вярвайте в ГОСПОДА, своя Бог, и ще се утвърдите. Вярвайте на пророците Му, и ще успеете.

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.

И той се посъветва с народа и постави певци за ГОСПОДА, които да прославят в свято великолепие, като излязат пред войската и говорят: Славословете ГОСПОДА, защото милостта Му е вечна!

And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

И когато започнаха да пеят и да славят, ГОСПОД постави засади срещу синовете на Амон и Моав, и онези от планината Сиир, които бяха дошли против Юда. И те бяха разбити.

For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.

И синовете на Амон и Моав станаха срещу жителите на планината Сиир, за да изпълнят над тях проклятието и да ги изтребят. А когато довършиха жителите на Сиир, те си помогнаха да се погубят взаимно.

And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.

А Юда дойде до стражарската кула към пустинята; и погледнаха към множеството и ето, бяха трупове, паднали на земята, и никой не се беше избавил.

And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.

И Йосафат и народът му дойдоха да оберат плячката им и намериха много богатства между труповете им и скъпи вещи, и си взеха толкова много, че не можеха да ги отнесат. Три дни обираха плячката, защото беше много.

And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day.

А на четвъртия ден се събраха в долината Вераха, защото там благословиха ГОСПОДА. Затова онова място се нарече Долината Вераха и до днес.

Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies.

Тогава всичките юдови и ерусалимски мъже начело с Йосафат тръгнаха да се върнат в Ерусалим с радост, понеже ГОСПОД им беше дал радост от поражението на враговете им.

And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the LORD.

И дойдоха в Ерусалим до ГОСПОДНИЯ дом с лири и арфи, и тръби.

And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.

И страх от Бога обзе всичките царства на околните страни, когато чуха, че ГОСПОД е воювал против враговете на Израил.

So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.

И царството на Йосафат се успокои и неговият Бог му даде покой отвсякъде.

And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.

Така Йосафат царуваше над Юда. Той беше на тридесет и пет години, когато се възцари, и царува двадесет и пет години в Ерусалим. Името на майка му беше Азува, дъщеря на Силей.

And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and departed not from it, doing that which was right in the sight of the LORD.

Той ходи в пътя на баща си Аса; не се отклони от него, като вършеше това, което бе право пред ГОСПОДА.

Howbeit the high places were not taken away: for as yet the people had not prepared their hearts unto the God of their fathers.

Само високите места не се премахнаха и народът още не беше насочил сърцето си към Бога на бащите си.

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Jehu the son of Hanani, who is mentioned in the book of the kings of Israel.

А останалите дела на Йосафат, първите и последните, ето, записани са в делата на Ииуй, сина на Ананий, които са включени в Книгата на израилевите царе.

And after this did Jehoshaphat king of Judah join himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly:

А след това юдовият цар Йосафат се свърза с израилевия цар Охозия, който постъпваше безбожно.

And he joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish: and they made the ships in Ezion–geber.

Свърза се с него, за да направят кораби, които да отидат в Тарсис. И направиха корабите в Есион-Гавер.

Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.

И Елиезер, синът на Додо, от Мариса, пророкува против Йосафат и каза: Понеже си се свързал с Охозия, ГОСПОД съсипа твоите дела. И корабите се разбиха и не можаха да отидат в Тарсис.
