“हे यहोवा, अतीत में तू सेईर देश से आया।
तू एदोम प्रदेश से चलकर आया,
और धरती काँप उठी।
गगन ने वर्षा की।
मेघों ने जल गिराया।
LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.
घुंघरूओं की छमछम पर,
पशुओं को लिए पानी वाले कूपों पर,
वे यहोवा की विजय की कथाओं को कहते हैं,
इस्राएल में यहोवा और उसके वीरों की विजय—कथा कहते हैं।
उस समय यहोवा के लोग नगर—द्वारों पर लड़े और विजयी हुये!
They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates.
“एप्रैम के कुछ लोग
अमालेक के पहाड़ी प्रदेश में बसे।
ऐ बिन्यामीन, तुम्हारे बाद वे लोग
और तुम्हारे लोग आए।
माकीर के परिवार समूह से
सेनापति आगे आए।
काँसे के दण्ड सहित नायक आए
जबूलून परिवार समूह से।
Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer.
इस्साकार के नेता दबोरा के साथ थे।
इस्साकर का परिवार समूह बाराक के प्रति सच्चा था।
वे वयक्ति पैदल ही घाटी में भेजे गए।
“रूबेन के सैनिक बड़बड़ाए, वे क्या करें।
And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart.
भेड़शाले के दीवार से लगे क्यों तुम सभी बैठे हो?
रूबेन के वीर सैनिकों ने युद्ध का दृढ़ निश्चय किया।
किन्तु वे अपनी भेड़ों के लिए संगीत को सुनते रहे घर बैठे।
Why abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.
गिलाद के लोग यरदन नदी के पार अपने डेरों मे पड़े रहे।
ऐ, दान के लोगो, जहाँ तक बात तुम्हारी है—तुम जहाजों के साथ क्यों चिपके रहे?
आशेर के लोग सागर तट पर पड़े रहे।
उन्होंने अपने सुरक्षित बन्दरगाहों में डेरा डाला।
Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches.
“यहोवा के दूत ने कहा,
‘मेरोज नगर को अभिशाप दो।
इसके लोगों को भीषण अभिशाप दो!
योद्धाओं के साथ वे यहोवा की सहायता करने नहीं आए।’
Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty.
याएल बाहर गई, लाई खूँटी तम्बू की।
उसके दायें कर में हथौड़ा आया श्रमिक काम लाते जिसे और उसने सीसरा पर चलाया हथौड़ा।
उसने किया चूर सिर उसका,
उसने उसके सिर को बेधा एक ओर से।
She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples.
“सीसरा की माँ, देखती खिड़की से और पर्दो से
झाँकती हुई चीख उठी।
‘सीसरा के रथ को विलम्ब क्यों आने में?
सीसरा के रथ के अश्वों के हिनहिनाने में देर क्यों?’
The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? why tarry the wheels of his chariots?
‘निश्चय ही उन्होंने विजय पाई है
निश्चय ही पराजितों की वस्तुएँ वे ले रहे हैं!
निश्चय ही वे बाँटते हैं आपस में वस्तुओं को!
एक लड़की या दो, दी जा रही हर सैनिक को।
संभवत: सीसरा ले रहा है, कोई रंगा वस्त्र।
संभवत: एक कढ़े वस्त्र का टुकड़ा हो, या विजेता सीसरा पहनने के लिए, दे कढ़े किनारी युक्त वस्त्र।’
Have they not sped? have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two; to Sisera a prey of divers colours, a prey of divers colours of needlework, of divers colours of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks of them that take the spoil?
“हे यहोवा! इस तरह तेरे, सब शत्रु मर—मिट जायें।
किन्तु वे लोग सब जो प्यार करते हैं तुझको ज्वलित दीप्त सूर्य सम शक्तिशाली बने!”
इस प्रकार उस प्रदेश में चालीस वर्ष तक शान्ति रही।
So let all thine enemies perish, O LORD: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.
