Psalms 7

Davidin viattomuus, josta hän Herralle veisasi, Kuusin Jeminin pojan sanan tähden: Sinuun, Herra minun Jumalani, minä uskallan: auta minua kaikista minun vainollisistani, ja pelasta minua;

O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:

Ettei he repisi minun sieluani niinkuin jalopeura, ja sätkisi ilman holhojaa.

Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

Herra minun Jumalani, jos minä sen tein ja jos vääryys on minun käsissäni;

O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;

Jos minä pahalla kostanut olen niille, jotka minun kanssani rauhassa elivät; vaan minä olen niitä pelastanut, jotka ilman syytä minua vihasivat;

If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)

Niin vainotkaan viholliseni minun sieluani ja käsittäköön sen, ja poljeskelkaan maahan elämäni, ja painakaan kunniani tomuun, Sela!

Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.

Nouse Herra vihassas, korota sinuas ylitse vihollisteni hirmuisuuden, heräjä minun puoleeni; sillä sinä olet käskenyt oikeuden,

Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.

Että kansat kokoontuisivat jälleen sinun tykös; ja tule heidän tähtensä taas ylös,

So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.

Herra on kansain tuomari: tuomitse Herra minua vanhurskauteni ja vakuuteni jälkeen.

The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.

Loppukoon jumalattomain pahuus, ja holho vanhurskaita; sillä sinä, vanhurskas Jumala, tutkit sydämet ja munaskuut.

Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.

Minun kilpeni on Jumalan tykönä, joka vaat sydämet auttaa.

My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

Jumala on oikia tuomari; ja Jumala, joka joka päivä uhkaa.

God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Ellei he palaja, niin hän on miekkansa teroittanut, joutsensa jännittänyt, ja tarkoittaa,

If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.

Ja on pannut sen päälle surmannuolet; hän on valmistanut vasamansa kadottamaan.

He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.

Katso, hänellä on pahaa mielessä: hän on onnettomuutta raskas, mutta hän synnyttää puuttumisen.

Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.

Hän kaivoi haudan ja valmisti, ja on kaatunut siihen kuoppaan, jonka hän oli tehnyt.

He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.

Hänen onnettomuutensa pitää hänen päänsä päälle tuleman, ja hänen vääryytensä pitää hänen päänsä laelle lankeeman.

His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

Minä kiitän Herraa hänen vanhurskautensa tähden, ja kunnioitan ylimmäisen Herran nimeä.

I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.
