I Corinthians 4

Jokainen pitäköön meitä Kristuksen palvelioina ja Jumalan salaisuutten huoneenhaltioina.

Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Mutta ainoastaan se huoneenhaltiain seassa etsitään, että joku uskolliseksi löydettäisiin.

Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Mutta vähän minä sitä tottelen, että minä teiltä tuomitaan eli inhimilliseltä päivältä: ja en minä itsekään tuomitse minuani;

But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.

Sillä en minä tiedä mitään kanssani; mutta en minä sentähden vanhurskautettu ole, vaan Herra on se, joka minun tuomitsee.

For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

Sentähden älkäät tuomitko ennen aikaa, siihenasti kuin Herra tulee, joka nekin valkeuteen saattaa, mitkä pimeydessä peitetyt ovat, ja ilmoittaa sydänten aivoitukset: ja silloin kukin saa kunnian Jumalalta.

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

Mutta näitä, rakkaat veljet, olen minä minustani ja Apollosta ulostoimittanut teidän tähtenne, että te meistä oppisitte, ettei kenkään enempää itsestänsä ajattelisi kuin kirjoitettu on, ettei yksikään teistä toistansa vastaan pidä jonkun tähden itsiänsä paisuttaman.

And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

Sillä kuka sinun eroittaa? Taikka mitä sinulla on, jota et sinä ole saanut? Jos siitä siis saanut olet, mitäs kerskaat niinkuin et sinä saanut olisi?

For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

Jo te olette ravitut, jo te olette rikastuneet, ilman meitä te vallitsette: ja oi jospa te tosin vallitsisitte, että mekin teidän kanssanne vallitsisimme!

Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

Sillä minä luulen, että Jumala on meitä apostoleita viimeisiksi asettanut, niinkuin surmattaviksi; sillä me olemme maailmalle, ja enkeleille, ja ihmisille ihmeeksi tulleet.

For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

Me olemme tomppelit Kristuksen tähden, mutta te toimelliset Kristuksessa: me heikot, mutta te väkevät: te kunnialliset, mutta me katsotut ylön.

We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

Hamaan tähän hetkeen asti kärsimme me nälkää ja janoa, ja olemme alasti, ja meitä lyödään korvalle ja ei meillä ole vahvaa asuinsiaa:

Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;

Ja me näemme vaivaa, työtä tehden omilla käsillämme. Kuin meitä soimataan, niin me hyvästi lausumme: kuin meitä vainotaan, niin me kärsimme.

And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

Kuin meitä pilkataan, niin me rukoilemme: me olemme tulleet niinkuin maailman tunkioksi ja kaikkein saastaisuudeksi tähän päivään asti.

Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.

En minä näitä kirjoita häväistäkseni teitä, vaan minä neuvon teitä niinkuin rakkaita lapsiani.

I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.

Sillä ehkä teillä olis kymmenentuhatta opettajaa Kristuksessa, niin ei teillä kuitenkaan ole monta isää; sillä minä olen teitä Kristuksessa Jesuksessa siittänyt evankeliumin kautta.

For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

Sentähden neuvon minä teitä, olkaat minun tavoittajani.

Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

Sentähden lähetin minä teille Timoteuksen, joka on minun rakas ja uskollinen poikani Herrassa, jonka pitää muistuttaman teille minun tieni, jotka ovat Kristuksessa, niinkuin minä joka paikassa kaikissa seurakunnissa opetan.

For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

Mutta muutamat ovat teistä paisuneet, niinkuin en minä teidän tykönne tuleva oliskaan.

Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.

Mutta ennen paljoa aikaa tulen minä teidän tykönne, jos Herra tahtoo, ja tahdon tietää, ei paisuneitten sanojen, vaan voimaa.

But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.

Sillä Jumalan valtakunta ei ole puheessa, vaan voimassa.

For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

Kumman te tahdotte: että minä tulen vitsalla teidän tykönne, taikka rakkaudella ja hengen siveydellä?

What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?
