Hebrews 5

هر كاهن اعظم از میان مردم برگزیده می‌شود تا نمایندهٔ مردم در حضور خدا باشد. او به‌خاطر گناهان انسان، هدایایی تقدیم خدا نموده و مراسم قربانی را انجام می‌دهد.

For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:

چون خود او دچار ضعف‌های انسانی است، می‌تواند با جاهلان و خطاكاران همدردی كند.

Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.

ولی به علّت ضعف خود مجبور است نه تنها برای گناهان مردم بلكه به‌خاطر گناهان خویش نیز قربانی بنماید.

And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.

هیچ‌کس اختیار ندارد این افتخار را نصیب خود بسازد بلكه فقط با دعوت خدا به این مقام می‌رسد، همان‌طور كه هارون رسید.

And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

مسیح هم همین‌طور، او افتخار كاهن اعظم شدن را برای خود اختیار نكرد، بلكه خدا به او فرمود: «تو پسر من هستی، امروز پدر تو شده‌ام.»

So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

و نیز در جای دیگر می‌فرماید: «تو تا ابد كاهن هستی، كاهنی در رتبهٔ 'ملکی‌صدق'»

As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

عیسی در زمان حیات خود بر روی زمین با اشک و ناله از درگاه خدایی كه به رهایی او از مرگ قادر بود دعا كرد و حاجت خویش را خواست و چون کاملاً تسلیم بود، دعایش مستجاب شد.

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

اگر چه پسر خدا بود، اطاعت را از راه تحمّل درد و رنج آموخت

Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

و وقتی به كمال رسید، سرچشمهٔ نجات ابدی برای همهٔ ایمانداران خود گردید،

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

و خدا لقب كاهن اعظم، كاهنی به رتبهٔ ملکی‌صدق را به او داد.

Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

دربارهٔ او مطالب زیادی برای گفتن داریم، ولی شرح آن برای شما كه در فهم این چیزها كودن شده‌اید دشوار است.

Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

شما كه تا این موقع می‌بایست معلّم دیگران می‌شدید، هنوز احتیاج دارید كه پیام خدا را از الفبا به شما تعلیم دهند. شما به جای غذای قوی به شیر احتیاج دارید.

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

کسی‌که فقط شیر می‌خورد، طفل است و در تشخیص حقّ از باطل تجربه ندارد.

For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

امّا غذای قوی برای بزرگسالان و برای كسانی است، كه قوای ذهنی آنها با تمرینهای طولانی پرورش یافته است تا بتوانند نیک و بد را از هم تشخیص بدهند.

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
