И в първия месец израилевите синове, цялото общество, дойдоха в пустинята Цин и народът остана в Кадис. Там умря Мариам и там беше погребана.

Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.

И нямаше вода за обществото и те се събраха против Мойсей и против Аарон.

And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.

И народът се караше с Мойсей, като говореше и казваше: О, да бяхме измрели и ние, когато братята ни измряха пред ГОСПОДА!

And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!

Защо изведохте ГОСПОДНОТО общество в тази пустиня да измрем в нея и ние, и добитъкът ни?

And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?

И защо ни изведохте от Египет, за да ни доведете на това лошо място? Това не е място за сеене, нито за смокини, нито за лозя, нито за нарове, нито има вода за пиене!

And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.

Тогава Мойсей и Аарон си отидоха от събранието, дойдоха при входа на шатъра за срещане и паднаха там на лицата си. И ГОСПОДНАТА слава им се яви.

And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.

И ГОСПОД говори на Мойсей и каза:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Вземи жезъла и свикай обществото, ти и брат ти Аарон, и говорете на канарата пред очите им, и тя ще даде водата си. Така ще им извадиш вода от канарата и ще напоиш обществото и добитъка му.

Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

И Мойсей взе жезъла, който беше пред ГОСПОДА, както Той му заповяда.

And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.

И Мойсей и Аарон свикаха събранието пред канарата и той им каза: Чуйте сега вие, бунтовници! Ще ви извадим ли вода от тази канара?

And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

И Мойсей вдигна ръката си и удари два пъти канарата с жезъла си. И потече много вода и обществото и добитъкът им пиха.

And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

Но ГОСПОД каза на Мойсей и Аарон: Понеже не Ми вярвахте, за да Ме осветите пред израилевите синове, затова няма вие да въведете това общество в земята, която им давам.

And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

Това е водата на Мерива, защото израилевите синове се караха с ГОСПОДА и Той се освети сред тях.

This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.

След това Мойсей изпрати пратеници от Кадис до едомския цар да му кажат: Така говори брат ти Израил: Ти знаеш всичките трудности, които ни сполетяха.

And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us:

Бащите ни слязоха в Египет и живяхме дълго време в Египет, и египтяните се отнасяха зле към нас и бащите ни.

How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers:

И ние извикахме към ГОСПОДА и Той чу гласа ни, и изпрати един ангел и ни изведе от Египет; и ето ни при Кадис, град в края на твоята област.

And when we cried unto the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border:

Моля те, нека минем през земята ти. Няма да минем през нивите или през лозята, нито ще пием вода от кладенците, а ще вървим по царския път; няма да се отбием нито надясно, нито наляво, докато не преминем областта ти.

Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king's high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.

Но Едом му отговори: Не преминавай през земята ми, за да не изляза с меч против теб!

And Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword.

А израилевите синове пак му казаха: По пътя ще минем и ако аз и добитъкът ми пием от водата ти, ще я платим. Искам само с краката си да премина и нищо друго.

And the children of Israel said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing any thing else, go through on my feet.

А той пак отговори: Няма да преминеш! И Едом излезе против него с голям народ и със силна ръка.

And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.

Така Едом отказа да пусне Израил да мине през областта му, затова Израил се оттегли от него.

Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him.

И така, израилевите синове, цялото общество, отпътуваха от Кадис и дойдоха при планината Ор.

And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came unto mount Hor.

И ГОСПОД говори на Мойсей и Аарон на планината Ор, при границите на едомската земя, и каза:

And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying,

Аарон ще се прибере при народа си, защото няма да влезе в земята, която съм дал на израилевите синове, понеже не се покорихте на думата Ми при водата на Мерива.

Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.

Вземи Аарон и сина му Елеазар и ги изведи на планината Ор,

Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor:

и съблечи от Аарон одеждите му, и облечи с тях сина му Елеазар. И Аарон ще се прибере при народа си и ще умре там.

And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there.

И Мойсей направи, както заповяда ГОСПОД, и се качиха на планината Ор пред очите на цялото общество.

And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.

И Мойсей съблече от Аарон одеждите му и облече с тях сина му Елеазар. И Аарон умря там на върха на планината, а Мойсей и Елеазар слязоха от планината.

And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount.

И като видя цялото общество, че Аарон умря, целият израилев дом оплаква Аарон тридесет дни.

And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.
