Ecclesiastes 3

Има време за всяко нещо и определено време за всяко намерение под небето:

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

време за раждане и време за умиране; време за насаждане и време за изкореняване на насаденото;

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

време за убиване и време за изцеляване; време за събаряне и време за градене;

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

време за плачене и време за смеене; време за жалеене и време за танцуване;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

време за хвърляне на камъни и време за събиране на камъни; време за прегръщане и време за въздържане от прегръщане;

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

време за търсене и време за изгубване; време за пазене и време за изхвърляне;

A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

време за късане и време за шиене; време за мълчане и време за говорене;

A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

време за обичане и време за мразене; време за война и време за мир.

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Каква полза има работникът от това, в което се труди?

What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?

Видях труда, който Бог даде на човешките синове, за да се трудят в него.

I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

Той е направил всяко нещо хубаво на времето му. Положил е и вечността в тяхното сърце, без човек да може да издири делото, което Бог е извършил, от началото до края.

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Познах, че няма по-добро за тях, освен да се веселят и да вършат добро през живота си,

I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

а и че всеки човек яде и пие, и вижда добро в целия си труд — това е дар от Бога.

And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

Познах, че всичко, което Бог прави, ще бъде вечно; не може нищо да се прибави към него, и нищо да се отнеме от него. Бог го прави, за да Му се боят.

I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

Каквото е, вече е било и каквото ще бъде, вече е било; и Бог издирва миналото.

That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

И още видях под слънцето мястото на съда, а там — беззаконието, и мястото на правдата, а там — беззаконието.

And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.

Казах в сърцето си: Бог ще съди и правЕдния и безбожния, защото там има време за всяко намерение и за всяко дело.

I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

Казах в сърцето си: Заради делото на човешките синове е това, за да ги изпита Бог, за да видят, че сами за себе си, без Бога, те са животни.

I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

Защото участта на човешките синове и участта на животните е една участ. Както умира единият, така умира и другият; и едно дихание имат всички. И човекът няма никакво предимство пред животните, защото всичко е суета.

For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

Всичко отива на едно място; всичко е от пръстта, и всички се връщат в пръстта.

All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

Кой знае, че духът на човека се издига горе, а духът на животното слиза долу на земята?

Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

И така, видях, че няма по-добро от това, да се радва човек в делата си, защото това е делът му. Понеже кой ще го доведе да види какво ще бъде след него?

Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?
