Acts 24

След пет дни първосвещеникът Анания слезе с някои старейшини и с един оратор на име Тертил, които подадоха на управителя жалба против Павел.

And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and with a certain orator named Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.

И като го повикаха, Тертил започна да обвинява, като казваше: Понеже чрез теб, честити Феликсе, се радваме на голямо спокойствие и понеже чрез твоята предвидливост има подобрения за този народ,

And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,

то ние с пълна благодарност винаги и навсякъде посрещаме това.

We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.

Но за да не те отегчаваме повече, моля те да имаш снизхождение и да ни изслушаш накратко;

Notwithstanding, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy clemency a few words.

понеже намерихме, че този човек е зараза и размирник между всичките юдеи по света, а още и водач на назарейската ерес,

For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

който се опита и храма да оскверни. И ние го уловихме (и искахме да го съдим по нашия закон,

Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.

но хилядникът Лисий дойде и с голямо насилие го изтръгна от ръцете ни, като заповяда на обвинителите му да дойдат при теб).

But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands,

А ти, като сам го разпиташ, ще можеш да узнаеш от него всичко това, за което го обвиняваме.

Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.

И юдеите потвърдиха, като казаха, че това е вярно.

And the Jews also assented, saying that these things were so.

А когато управителят кимна на Павел да вземе думата, той отговори: Понеже зная, че ти от много години си бил съдия на този народ, аз на драго сърце говоря в своя защита,

Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:

защото можеш да научиш, че няма повече от дванадесет дни, откакто се изкачих на поклонение в Ерусалим.

Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.

И не са ме намерили да споря с някого или да размирявам народа нито в храма, нито в синагогите, нито в града.

And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:

И те не могат да докажат пред теб това, за което сега ме обвиняват.

Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.

Но това ти изповядвам, че според учението, което те наричат ерес, така служа на бащиния ни Бог, като вярвам всичко, което е писано в закона и в пророците,

But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

и че се надявам на Бога, че ще има възкресение на мъртвите – и на праведни, и на неправедни – което и те сами очакват.

And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Затова и аз се старая да имам винаги непорочна съвест – и спрямо Бога, и спрямо хората.

And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

И след много години дойдох да донеса милостини на моя народ и приноси.

Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.

При това ме намериха в храма очистен, без да има навалица или размирие,

Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.

но имаше някои юдеи от Азия, които трябваше да се представят пред теб и да ме обвинят, ако имаха нещо против мен.

Who ought to have been here before thee, and object, if they had ought against me.

Или тези сами нека кажат каква неправда са намерили в мен, когато стоях пред Синедриона,

Or else let these same here say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council,

освен ако е само в този вик, който нададох, като стоях между тях: За възкресението на мъртвите ме съдите днес.

Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.

А Феликс, тъй като познаваше доста добре това учение, отложи делото, като каза: Когато слезе хилядникът Лисий, ще разреша делото ви.

And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.

И заповяда на стотника да пазят Павел, но да му дават свобода и да не възпират никого от неговите да му прислужва.

And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.

А след няколко дни Феликс дойде с жена си Друсилия, която беше юдейка, и прати за Павел, от когото слуша за вярата в Христос Иисус.

And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.

И когато той говореше за правда, за себеобуздание и за идещия съд, Феликс уплашен отговори: Засега си иди и когато намеря време, ще те повикам.

And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

При това той се надяваше, че ще получи пари от Павел, затова все по-често го викаше и приказваше с него.

He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.

Но като изминаха две години, Феликс беше заместен от Порций Фест. А понеже искаше да спечели благоволението на юдеите, Феликс остави Павел в окови.

But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix' room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.
