Acts 12

Около това време цар Ирод сложи ръце на някои от църквата, за да ги притесни.

Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

И уби с меч Яков, брата на Йоан.

And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

И като видя, че това се хареса на юдеите, той освен това хвана и Петър. Това беше през дните на безквасните хлябове.

And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

И като го задържа, го хвърли в тъмница и го предаде на четири четворки войници да го пазят, с намерение след Пасхата да го изведе пред народа.

And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

И така, те пазеха Петър в тъмницата, а църквата беше в постоянна молитва към Бога за него.

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

И през същата нощ, когато Ирод щеше да го изведе, Петър спеше между двама войници, окован с две вериги; и стражари пред вратата пазеха тъмницата.

And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

И ето, един Господен ангел застана до него и светлина осия килията; и като побутна Петър отстрани, го събуди и му каза: Ставай бързо! И веригите паднаха от ръцете му.

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

И ангелът му каза: Опаши се и обуй сандалите си. И той направи така. Тогава му каза: Облечи дрехата си и ме последвай!

And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

И Петър излезе и го следваше, без да знае, че извършеното от ангела е действителност, а си мислеше, че вижда видение.

And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

А като преминаха първата и втората стража, дойдоха до желязната порта, която води в града, и тя им се отвори сама; и те излязоха и изминаха една улица, и ангелът веднага се оттегли от него.

When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

А когато Петър дойде на себе си, каза: Сега наистина зная, че Господ изпрати ангела Си и ме избави от ръката на Ирод и от всички очаквания на юдейския народ.

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

И като поразмисли, дойде при къщата на Мария, майката на Йоан, който се наричаше и Марк, където мнозина бяха събрани и се молеха.

And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

И когато почука на вратичката на портата, една слугиня на име Рода излезе да чуе кой е.

And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.

И когато позна гласа на Петър, от радост не отвори портата, а се затича и извести, че Петър стои пред портата.

And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.

А те й казаха: Ти си луда. Но тя настояваше, че е така. Тогава те казаха: Това е неговият ангел.

And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

А Петър продължаваше да чука; и когато отвориха, го видяха и се смаяха.

But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.

А той им помаха с ръка да мълчат и им разказа как Господ го е извел от тъмницата. И им каза: Разкажете това на Яков и на братята. И излезе и отиде на друго място.

But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place.

А като се съмна, сред войниците настана немалък смут – какво ли е станало с Петър.

Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter.

А Ирод, като го потърси и не го намери, разследва стражарите и заповяда да ги убият. И слезе от Юдея в Кесария и там живееше.

And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judæa to Cæsarea, and there abode.

А Ирод беше много разгневен на тирците и сидонците; но те дойдоха единодушно при него и като спечелиха поддръжката на царския камериер Власт, поискаха мир, защото тяхната област се хранеше от царската.

And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king's chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king's country.

И в един определен ден Ирод, облечен в царска одежда, седна на престола и държа реч пред тях.

And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.

А народът извика: Глас божи, а не човешки!

And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.

И веднага един Господен ангел го порази, понеже не въздаде слава на Бога; и той беше изяден от червеи и умря.

And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

А Божието Слово растеше и се умножаваше.

But the word of God grew and multiplied.

А Варнава и Савел, като свършиха службата си, се върнаха от Ерусалим в Антиохия и взеха със себе си Йоан, който се наричаше и Марк.

And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.
