مَیں میدانِ شارون کا پھول اور وادیوں کی سوسن ہوں۔

I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.

لڑکیوں کے درمیان میری محبوبہ کانٹےدار پودوں میں سوسن کی مانند ہے۔

As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.

جوان آدمیوں میں میرا محبوب جنگل میں سیب کے درخت کی مانند ہے۔ مَیں اُس کے سائے میں بیٹھنے کی کتنی آرزومند ہوں، اُس کا پھل مجھے کتنا میٹھا لگتا ہے۔

As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

وہ مجھے مَے کدے میں لایا ہے، میرے اوپر اُس کا جھنڈا محبت ہے۔

He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.

کشمش کی ٹکیوں سے مجھے تر و تازہ کرو، سیبوں سے مجھے تقویت دو، کیونکہ مَیں عشق کے مارے بیمار ہو گئی ہوں۔

Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love.

اُس کا بایاں بازو میرے سر کے نیچے ہوتا اور دہنا بازو مجھے گلے لگاتا ہے۔

His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me.

اے یروشلم کی بیٹیو، غزالوں اور کھلے میدان کی ہرنیوں کی قَسم کھاؤ کہ جب تک محبت خود نہ چاہے تم اُسے نہ جگاؤ گی، نہ بیدار کرو گی۔

I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.

سنو، میرا محبوب آ رہا ہے۔ وہ دیکھو، وہ پہاڑوں پر پھلانگتا اور ٹیلوں پر سے اُچھلتا کودتا آ رہا ہے۔

The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.

میرا محبوب غزال یا جوان ہرن کی مانند ہے۔ اب وہ ہمارے گھر کی دیوار کے سامنے رُک کر کھڑکیوں میں سے جھانک رہا، جنگلے میں سے تک رہا ہے۔

My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice.

وہ مجھ سے کہتا ہے، ”اے میری خوب صورت محبوبہ، اُٹھ کر میرے ساتھ چل!

My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.

دیکھ، سردیوں کا موسم گزر گیا ہے، بارشیں بھی ختم ہو گئی ہیں۔

For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;

زمین سے پھول پھوٹ نکلے ہیں اور گیت کا وقت آ گیا ہے، کبوتروں کی غوں غوں ہمارے ملک میں سنائی دیتی ہے۔

The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;

انجیر کے درختوں پر پہلی فصل کا پھل پک رہا ہے، اور انگور کی بیلوں کے پھول خوشبو پھیلا رہے ہیں۔ چنانچہ آ میری حسین محبوبہ، اُٹھ کر آ جا!

The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

اے میری کبوتری، چٹان کی دراڑوں میں چھپی نہ رہ، پہاڑی پتھروں میں پوشیدہ نہ رہ بلکہ مجھے اپنی شکل دکھا، مجھے اپنی آواز سننے دے، کیونکہ تیری آواز شیریں، تیری شکل خوب صورت ہے۔“

O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.

ہمارے لئے لومڑیوں کو پکڑ لو، اُن چھوٹی لومڑیوں کو جو انگور کے باغوں کو تباہ کرتی ہیں۔ کیونکہ ہماری بیلوں سے پھول پھوٹ نکلے ہیں۔

Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

میرا محبوب میرا ہی ہے، اور مَیں اُسی کی ہوں، اُسی کی جو سوسنوں میں چرتا ہے۔

My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.

اے میرے محبوب، اِس سے پہلے کہ شام کی ہَوا چلے اور سائے لمبے ہو کر فرار ہو جائیں غزال یا جوان ہرن کی طرح سنگلاخ پہاڑوں کا رُخ کر!

Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.
