Hebrews 2

اِس لئے لازم ہے کہ ہم اَور زیادہ دھیان سے کلامِ مُقدّس کی اُن باتوں پر غور کریں جو ہم نے سن لی ہیں۔ ایسا نہ ہو کہ ہم سمندر پر بےقابو کشتی کی طرح بےمقصد اِدھر اُدھر پھریں۔

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

جو کلام فرشتوں نے انسان تک پہنچایا وہ تو اَن مٹ رہا، اور جس سے بھی کوئی خطا یا نافرمانی ہوئی اُسے اُس کی مناسب سزا ملی۔

For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

تو پھر ہم کس طرح اللہ کے غضب سے بچ سکیں گے اگر ہم مسیح کی اِتنی عظیم نجات کو نظرانداز کریں؟ پہلے خداوند نے خود اِس نجات کا اعلان کیا، اور پھر ایسے لوگوں نے ہمارے پاس آ کر اِس کی تصدیق کی جنہوں نے اُسے سن لیا تھا۔

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

ساتھ ساتھ اللہ نے اِس بات کی اِس طرح تصدیق بھی کی کہ اُس نے اپنی مرضی کے مطابق الٰہی نشان، معجزے اور مختلف قسم کے زوردار کام دکھائے اور روح القدس کی نعمتیں لوگوں میں تقسیم کیں۔

God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

اب ایسا ہے کہ اللہ نے مذکورہ آنے والی دنیا کو فرشتوں کے تابع نہیں کیا۔

For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.

کیونکہ کلامِ مُقدّس میں کسی نے کہیں یہ گواہی دی ہے، ”انسان کون ہے کہ تُو اُسے یاد کرے یا آدم زاد کہ تُو اُس کا خیال رکھے؟

But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

تُو نے اُسے تھوڑی دیر کے لئے فرشتوں سے کم کر دیا، تُو نے اُسے جلال اور عزت کا تاج پہنا کر

Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

سب کچھ اُس کے پاؤں کے نیچے کر دیا۔“ جب لکھا ہے کہ سب کچھ اُس کے پاؤں تلے کر دیا گیا تو اِس کا مطلب ہے کہ کوئی چیز نہ رہی جو اُس کے تابع نہیں ہے۔ بےشک ہمیں حال میں یہ بات نظر نہیں آتی کہ سب کچھ اُس کے تابع ہے،

Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

لیکن ہم اُسے ضرور دیکھتے ہیں جو ”تھوڑی دیر کے لئے فرشتوں سے کم“ تھا یعنی عیسیٰ کو جسے اُس کی موت تک کے دُکھ کی وجہ سے ”جلال اور عزت کا تاج“ پہنایا گیا ہے۔ ہاں، اللہ کے فضل سے اُس نے سب کی خاطر موت برداشت کی۔

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

کیونکہ یہی مناسب تھا کہ اللہ جس کے لئے اور جس کے وسیلے سے سب کچھ ہے یوں بہت سے بیٹوں کو اپنے جلال میں شریک کرے کہ وہ اُن کی نجات کے بانی عیسیٰ کو دُکھ اُٹھانے سے کاملیت تک پہنچائے۔

For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

عیسیٰ اور وہ جنہیں وہ مخصوص و مُقدّس کر دیتا ہے دونوں کا ایک ہی باپ ہے۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ عیسیٰ یہ کہنے سے نہیں شرماتا کہ مُقدّسین میرے بھائی ہیں۔

For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

مثلاً وہ اللہ سے کہتا ہے، ”مَیں اپنے بھائیوں کے سامنے تیرے نام کا اعلان کروں گا، جماعت کے درمیان ہی تیری مدح سرائی کروں گا۔“

Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.

وہ یہ بھی کہتا ہے، ”مَیں اُس پر بھروسا رکھوں گا۔“ اور پھر ”مَیں حاضر ہوں، مَیں اور وہ بچے جو اللہ نے مجھے دیئے ہیں۔“

And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

اب چونکہ یہ بچے گوشت پوست اور خون کے انسان ہیں اِس لئے عیسیٰ خود اُن کی مانند بن گیا اور اُن کی انسانی فطرت میں شریک ہوا۔ کیونکہ اِس طرح ہی وہ اپنی موت سے موت کے مالک ابلیس کو تباہ کر سکا،

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

اور اِس طرح ہی وہ اُنہیں چھڑا سکا جو موت سے ڈرنے کی وجہ سے زندگی بھر غلامی میں تھے۔

And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

ظاہر ہے کہ جن کی مدد وہ کرتا ہے وہ فرشتے نہیں ہیں بلکہ ابراہیم کی اولاد۔

For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

اِس لئے لازم تھا کہ وہ ہر لحاظ سے اپنے بھائیوں کی مانند بن جائے۔ صرف اِس سے اُس کا یہ مقصد پورا ہو سکا کہ وہ اللہ کے حضور ایک رحیم اور وفادار امامِ اعظم بن کر لوگوں کے گناہوں کا کفارہ دے سکے۔

Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

اور اب وہ اُن کی مدد کر سکتا ہے جو آزمائش میں اُلجھے ہوئے ہیں، کیونکہ اُس کی بھی آزمائش ہوئی اور اُس نے خود دُکھ اُٹھایا ہے۔

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
